    Accountrenting by A2gold.com

    Based on a review by someone here on the forum I contacted A2Gold.com for their free powerlvling service 60-70.
    They immediately answered at msn, they noted down my request, and that same night they started lvling.

    Starting from thursdaynight 2:27 till eysterday 21:00 in the evening, they raised my character 8 lvls, wich I was really happy about, but when I checked my mail this morning

    Account Name: XXXXXXXXXXXX
    Investigation Concluded: 28/11/2007
    Type of Violation: Involvement in online trading activities
    Consequences for Account: Account suspended for 72 hours, Password Reset and Final Warning issued.
    I am really happy that I only got a 3 day ban and not a permanent one, but still, I wonder how they detected it.

    * Online for too long
    Not a possibility: they logged off from time to time, and on tuesday they were logged off the whole day since that day of the week they have a day off from work.
    They were online only for about 6 hours when they got banned.

    * Chinese IP
    The site claims that they have some programs to mask the IP (or change it, no idea about it) so that should not be the reason. Also, if this was the case, they should have spotted it earlier

    * Botting
    This is not teh reason. They never have botted, I checked myself numerous times from another account, whispered them, and they give always some reply, sometimes short or vague, but a reply is a reply

    * ignoring GM whispers
    Not possible, see above

    * getting reported
    No idea. They have been grinding the little lake in terrokar just outside shattrath since 62, so maybe people got suspicious, but again, it was no bot so...
    I don't really know.

    What I can say

    * Their MSN support is awesome, during the lvling you can ask on MSN how much time till lvl X and they will say it... Until you have a problem. I contacted them after the ban, and they said that "they were sorry". No compensation for the loss like other sites garantee (they only garantee it, not sure if they actually do it)

    * I am 100% sure that they don't bot

    * they level fairly fast

    So, I got a bit mixed feelings about this.

    A2Gold is a good lvlingcompany, they do it fast and do everything to avoid detection, however, IF you get detected they just drop you and are no longer responding on msn to you.

    If you are looking for a rentingsite or free powerlvling, because of the lack of support after the ban, I would not suggest them.

    If someone else should have other good/bad experiences with these people maybe write it down here so we can get a better view on these companies.

    My tips for now are:

    - tell them on MSN that you only want them to powerlvl 3 days cause you need your account after that. Do this every week, and in 3 week you have frree 60-70

    - don't try to scam them, it can only damage you and a few hundred gold is not worth this

    - Keep checking on them regulary. f you can not do it ingame (no second account) check on them in armory, or else go to account management and select a service like name change, where you can check all the chars they have on your account, even the ones that are too low for the armory display

    - be sure to empty/protect all your characters, they don't just stik to the one you asked them to lvl, they will go on every character and use them all as moneypigs

    EDIT: I have been typing on MSN and sending mails for hours now, no response. Times are different there, so wasn't sure what was going on.
    I started a new user on ms, contacted them again, and said to the same people I was whispering to for hours that I had a lvl 60 rogue that I wanted to get free powerlvling.

    I got an immediate answer. These guys were just ignoring me.

    So I went a step further, I asked them if I would get them to powerlvl my char, and it got banned, what they would do, and he immediately said that they would replace it with a new one.
    That was all I needed to know, I said who I was, he asked me *again* when I got banned, and the he said "need to go to work, bye" and all their msn "contactpersons" logged off.
    See, I still have my account, but when you talk to those people the way I just did , then you see the reality and how much backup you get after a ban, and how much you will get when you really get permanently banned.

    I mean, these guys arent ffin SantaClaus, I know that, but still, I expected a bit more.

    Re: Accountrenting by A2gold.com

    Most probably an IP. Every country have some ip ranges purchased (not the country itself but providers, companies, etc), there are even programs that can show where on world map some IP is located. The only way to "mask" your ip is to use proxy server. I can bet they don't have such a proxy server installed in every country in the world, they probably use some of the free or have 1 for europe, 1 for usa, etc. So suddenly your location changed by a huge margin in way shorter time that you could have moved short of teleportation so ban.

    Edit: I can give some advice when using such a services - don't use your account for like a day before renting and a day after. Give some time, enough to physically reach distant places so bliz don't have any proof against you

    Re: Accountrenting by A2gold.com

    But they have been playing friday, saturday, sunday, monday, wednesday... And wednesday they got banned. Not whining and QQ here that i got banned (only 72hrs anyway) but I just wonder, if they would have detected it by IP then why not on friday when they started?

    Imo they were selling gold that they made off your character while grinding..therefore the Involvement in online trading activities part
    that crossed my mind too, instead of risking their own bankalt on my server they just used mine to transfer the money.

    Pellats0s's suspect can be very well true too
    Overall blizz dont act atm, at some point some flag is raised as a warning, logs are investigated by seniour gms when they have a time to do so, double-checking it, you probably rised another warning flag when your ip changed back from the distant land they were leveling from back to you and made them 100% sure
