Quiet Grinding Spot

Hey guys
I have a nice quiet little grinding spot I've been keeping to myself but I basically have everything I want on my characters so I figured I'd share it


Ok. If you know about this then thats cool, if not you'll enjoy. In the bottom left of the map you'll see Purgation Isle. Back in the day this island was populated by level 30 -32 elites. I believe there was a alliance quest giver or quest target here, but I haven't seen Judge Thalgram around. Anyhow, I don't know when but Blizz jacked up their levels to 57-59 elite and as far as I can tell took out the Ally quest stuff. So basically there is no need for anyone to go here now. So i'm bored one day and just got done helping a bud out in TM and decided to run around. Saw the island on map and noticed i haven't been there. 15 mins into grinding the Skullflame Sheild dropped for me. Sells for about 500g on my server. Plus the mobs drop anywhere between 5s to 27s which is about the same as an Outland mob. Plus the random greens,blues, and runecloth it adds up to make a good grind. So far i've gotten 3 skullflame sheilds, 48 pristine black diamonds, and numerous others. The mobs here are undead paladins,clerics(best drops), justicars (warriors), and mages. They don't hit very hard and die pretty easy. Best of all noone thinks to come here anymore if they ever did so for all you on a PvP server can grind,glide,chill etc without concern of being attacked...enjoy

also, haven't all elites in azeroth be turned into non-elites? if this apllies here then i think i got a new grinding space

I don't think "all" of them have. I logged about 3 hrs ago and these guys are still elite. I think the elite change was meant mainly for Stromgarde. Almost impossible to find a group in Arathi around that level ..noticed some Silithuds and dinosaurs around Ungoro,Tanaris,Silithus are still leet.

Many of the elits are none elits now.. I will try this out i whould love to have the shield on my shamy +rep

I just tried this on my L70 rogue, it's not hard to kill them at all, I found about 5g in cash drops and 4 or 5 green items. Total I got about 17-18g for like 5-10 minutes work.

Pretty nice spot.. But I guess you'd achieve the same in outland..

Very good

Went there today on my 61 hunter and I got alot of greens. Sold most of them in AH and ended up with 40g off the greens and like 8g from the coin drops in one hour. Thanks! +rep

The elites being changed is just quest elites I think, so the quests will be soloable.
For instance the dwarf quests in Hillsbrad foothills. :-)
