WoW Token price going to Skyrocket in Blizzcon
EU:
Blizzcon 2016:
4.11.2016:Token price: 82.134G
31.12.2016: Token price: 107.134g
(~40% increase)
After this, continuly went up to almost 300k now. And last years blizzcon was without a wow expansion.
A 40% increase would result in 420k price and an increase in relation of (82k -> 300k) would result in ~1.2m gold. (Yes 1.2m gold for a wow token).
At this point, 1.2m seems alot, but this is around 10% of the actual goldcap, which is almost equivalent to the old token price, which was 100k during wod, where the 1m goldcap was active. Of course, the current price is pretty fluctuating, but the price of 1.2m per wow token does not seem absurd, if you start to think about it.
This years blizzcon includes a wow expansion and the ability to use the wow token as bnet currency which then can be used to buy blizzard stuff
(aka more reasons for a price skyrocketing
i.e:
- new wow expansion
- new Blizzard games, which may be announced
- Virtual ticket
other reasons:
generally, buying wow tokens is pretty good, because just imagine you would have spent your 1m goldcap in wod. You would have gotten maybe 10-30 wow tokens. Now you get 3. You have to expect people thinking this way (which is the right way btw), hence in increasing the price even further.
generating gold in wow is pretty damn easy. You can get 5000g from missions (Argus missions) in one day. Is basically as easy as in wod, but you generate way more gold.
You're not running around with 2-5m gold just because youre a super good goldfarmer, youre running around with 2-5m gold, because its normal.
This has to reflect in the token price, which is currently happening (kinda), but not as obvious as it has to be.
argus is pretty new atm, hence people arent sitting on that generated amount of gold. but with the argus raid the only "new" thing coming to wow, there won't be much left to obtain in wow other than gold. the new wow expansion will probably release next year (~august+-) and there won't be a bigger content patch until then.
if you still think "nah the wow token price will stay the same", this topic might not convince you, and this will be your fault obviously.
the wow token price has increased since the release and will continue to do so, no matter what.
this thread is just a friendly reminder, that the token price ATM is quite low and you should spent your gold now to buy them. (at this point, 1-2 days matter alot)

Yes, sure. This is basically a conclusion based on previous interviews, just as:

and some reddit discussion based on quotes: Blizzard's GamesCom 2017 key art: New IP? : wow

Never used the wow token, but you can't buy em for gold and resell later right?

no but you can use the token to get gametime and save € or $ and later you can use your this way saved € or $ to buy a wow token (20€ i.e. and sell it for wow gold).
you can simply try it out, just buy a wow token with gold two times and after some period of time, you buy a wow token for real money and sell that on the auction house. with the current way of how the token works, there will be a day, where you make profit (actual wow gold profit) (this is the wow gold speculation in wow)
otherwise just buy wow gametime if you dont really care about your gold, you will get "the most" out of it, if you keep buying wow tokens - basically. the majority of wow players like to keep their gold instead

You mean like, say buy a token for 300k, exhange it for battle.net currency (it's possible right?) and then buy a pet from store and sell in-game? :P

1. 2x buy wow token (spend 600k)
2. use wow token as bnet balance (have 26€ in stock)
3. continue to buy wow game time with real money (as usual)
4. wait for token price to rise until you make profit
5. spend 20€ to buy a wow token and sell it for gold (you can use that 26€ from balance for that)
so at this point youre gambling with the token price value to make gold profit and as i have elaborated, the token price will increase and increase. sitting on your gold is the worst thing you can do because inflation is absolutly insane atm. legion devalued your gold by 90% after the gold price increase to 10m.
the token price at release was 60k. now its 300k.
do your math. and this will continue even further, no matter what anybody else says
