1,000,000g On The AH - The [Pre-Legion] Guide For A Goldmaking Hero
It seems to me that some players find goldmaking to be an elusive never-ending practice. Believe me, it isn't.
With a constant million gold on the AH.. I get to see first hand how the game of goldmaking works.
In this guide, I'll lay out my philosophy for making gold (Lots of it) hopefully before legion. And in turn point you down the path for doing the same.. If you follow it, even if you really don't believe in AH principles.. You can make tons more gold In the process. In fact, after helping hundreds of ownedcore members.. and possible thousands on YouTube.. I'm sure there's no other outcome.
In total this guide is the new version of my original ownedcore gold guide.Fit with tons of working NEW WOD farms, NEW concepts to dig in, and some NEW AH loving finesse to boot. All of it working right now as we prepare for legion.
This has been asked for by a lot of this forums members.. And while I've been reluctant to update this guide.. I believe it's more than needed. The best part, was the last edition was more than 365 days ago! In that time I've learned tons more and can now give new insights I've learned from teaching players worldwide.
This ginormous post will go over:
The catch all strategy I've use to get tens of thousands out the AH everyday – for years now. Even until a point where I actively have 1 million on the AH
30 late WOD farms that are kicking butt right now – that you should be using as we venture into legion
The basics of all AH flipping, how you can compare your TSM tooltip to find easy gold on the AH
How to cut down on time.. and post dozens of items in seconds allowing you to post more and make bigger profits
And most importantly.. How and why to automate your goldmaking! The most important skill the goldmaking hero keeps dearest to him.
In total, If you aren't gold savvy, and are looking to become so, this can really help to boost your gold up quickly!
Like the title states, this guide is made to take goldmaking noobies – and transform them into my version of the goldmaking hero!
But before we get all fancy .. first, let me tell you my experience with the AH, why I have just over 1 million gold in items uploaded, and why I praise this approach of goldmaking so widely.
As a pvper for my first 4 years, and a goldmaker for the last 6 – I've been on both sides of the gold making spectrum.
I've been dead poor. And I've also been handsomely rich...
So in short, I know how it is to not have gold... And I also know how it is to have TONS of it.
What I learned through it all, is that this game is 10,000,000x funner with gold. Hence my addiction.
My most memorable experiences have been throwing around very large sums of gold for my own amusement. I vividly remember:
Paying other players handsome amounts to gank and camp others.
Throwing fashion shows in which the winners receive hefty prizes as well as all the runner ups. (So far I know I've given out an excess of 500k doing Moonguard Xmog Shows.
Buying enchants for friends who are very close to me.
Buying vanities for girls who I want to impress (LOL, yes admittedly I've done this before)
Throwing Christmas events for the entire server to participate in.
Helping out new players who genuinely freak out at the sight of 5,000g..
and of course, one of my recent favorites..
Creating level 90 twinks.. The most fun I've had in years. I stress.. IN YEARS. I'm just the average American guy... Using my gold for selfish reasons disguised as altruism And while people often try to shame me for it, I love every moment of it.
This is what motivates me, and helps me provide guides like this for the community..!
So enjoy yourself:
With this guide, you'll be armed with the same practical steps that I used to start with collecting a fortune on the AH.
Hopefully you can follow what I learned and make just as much gold.. if not more!
To make that happen, this guide is broken up into 6 important parts.
1) The Introduction (What your reading right now)
2) The Rules
3) The Setup
4) The Farms That Kick Ass
6) The “Where to go from here” part...
Lets dig in
Rule # 1 Never Spend Too Much Time!
There are players out there making tons of gold... In fact, there are players out there who are making so much gold that they no longer have time to play. I personally know some of these players.. And Even though it may sound awesome for a while.. You don't want to be that person.
The good news is, there is a middle ground... In fact the middle ground is much better than being the rich lug who no longer enjoys the game. If you learn how to not let goldmaking suicide your time... Then your what I like to call the goldmaking hero. He is the hero of goldmaking.. And basically just the average WoW player who knows enough about TSM and the law of averages / server selection to make enough gold to do whatever he wants.
His motto is: "I rather work smarter, than work harder."And he lives by it.
Instead of posting auctions manually, he rather let the super advanced addons do it for him. (Massive time saved)
Instead of farming items he thinks its a better idea to let the items come to him via the AH (Super Ultra Massive time saved)
Instead of praying that someday one of his 37 items sell.. He doesn't care because he uploads hundreds.. and a few always make him good gold.
All the things he does is set up to give him more bang for his TIME. And as the goblins say... : time is money.
The more time we save, the more gold we make. And the best part is the gold made multiplies. Using TSM will drastically boost our gold as long as we're constantly bringing in new items to sell. (Through The Means of Farming / AH Searches). If AH flipping ain't your thing.. farming is perfectly fine as well. As long as your getting new items in constantly.. That's all that matters.
While farming is an awesome way for beginners way to acquire items. AH flipping is a bit advanced - but more rewarding.
When you farm for an hour, your likely to find a good 20 items that's worth 5,000g altogether.. However when you buy under-priced items from the AH, you can often end up with tons more valuable items... And would of gotten them 10x quicker. Whats more.. Is goldmaking heroes will often buy up a farmers goods (but not a goldmaking heros goods - since we've priced them correctly) and resell them for massive proifts.
The farmer can spend the same amount of time making gold as the goldmaking hero.. But the goldmaking hero is rewarded MORE.
The sad part is only a small percentage of players actually know how to make this happen.... No worries since by the end of this guide - that will no longer be a problem for you anymore!
So lets get to it: Lets go over the second most important rule I've learned to build my own 1,000,000g empire..!
Rule # 2 Automation is KING
Everything can be sold. And anything you find can be put on the AH. Extremely-fast.
Because speed is on our side – it's more beneficial to us to get everything we can on the AH (Whether we believe it will sell or not is not the point - more on this later). Everything that's anything can be uploaded to the AH.. And can make you profits.
It has gotten to a point where just throwing random items on the AH is a very good idea... And first hand experience has taught me that it is. (In fact, over on my goldmaking website.. we've extensively tested this - and have proven this to be the case on high population servers.(More on population in a later section)
Overall, because we can now automate the auction posting process.. Time is on our side! We can now just throw anything on the AH – quickly.. and let the numbers game determine the gold we make.
You likely already see this on your server already.. Some random guy with hundreds of freaking items on the AH.. Ranging from rare end game BOE's to lowly stacks of sparkling spring water. Believe it or not, this is the strategy hes running. Some farming maybe.. And alot of AH flipping
All this is done with the addon Tradeskill Master. It's the ultimate goldmaking addon.. and it's built to make life insanely easy. Learning how to work the basics of this addon can make you more gold than your comfortable with. I stress that if you are not using TSM.. And it's awesome goldmaking powers.. Then you are doing yourself a disservice.
The addon is too complicated for the unsuspecting gold newbie. So the majority of players choose to ignore it completely. This is a HUGE mistake. Even if you do not make gold.. you need to be using this addon... Just getting it will increase your gold finesse ten fold.. That's why, In this guide I'll give you all my simplest setup that even a black-iron orc can figure out... And use for profits.
The casual player does not use TSM.. The casual player doesn't even know this stuff exists. The goldmaking hero however loves TSM.. And while he doesn't spend all his waking hours using it.. He has just enough understanding to make sizable profits... For himself, his friends, his mom, his guildmates, and more!
Rule #3 Post Alot of Items. Post Every Other Day
The goldmaking hero knows this by heart. In fact, most players who farm for items only post their stock about twice a week! Which is a shame, because if they knew how much more gold they would make if they posted everyday... They would never miss a day.. ever.
Here's how most players post farm items.
1) They'll farm for 45 minutes or acquiring about 23 new shiny greens.
2) They'll post their drops right away at some random time. (Lets Say around 7PM)
3) They'll wait a full 24 hours
4) The next day they'll wake up to 22 expires and if their lucky just 1 item will sell.
5) They go on to bash farming / item collecting as the biggest waste of time in the universe. (You'll see farming sucks hate posts everywhere)
Basically making all the goldmaking mistakes in the book!
You do not only post 23 items.. You post 300, 400, 500, or more!.. Why?..Well because of how mass auction posting works, you know that every item has only a tiny % chance to sell. So small that 23 - 100 items WILL NOT CUT IT. Especially if you want to make big gold. The goldmaking hero posts hundreds of items and only collects the profits from a very small amount everyday
Slowly his stock drips off.. Making him gold in the process. While on Monday he has 600 items.. by Tuesday he has 579. Only a small portion of items will sell.. however those items will actually bring him BIG profits altogether.. It's a different mindset than the casual player who posts his 23 items, watches them like a hawk stalking it's prey, and PRAYS with full faith that today is the lucky day all his 23 items will sell.
When selling farm items:
You cannot post under 100 items and expect amazing gold.
You cannot pray and expect everything will sell on the same day
You cannot be desperate for all your stock to go away. (In fact, you want MORE stock)
Unlike the average player, the goldmaking hero knows that constant auction posting is a must! Even more, he's comfortable posting 600 items or more at a time, because he knows how to automate the entire thing. (Which is what we will discuss in super detail very soon) This way his goldmaking doesn't take more than 30 minutes a day. And.. is almost on autopilot (Besides running to and from the mailbox)
The only thing the goldmaking hero worries about is getting more items as much as he can.
The goldmaking hero:
Does not mind sometimes farming to collect a few items. (Although eventually he'll move to the AH to get goods)
Posts his items at least 4 times a week
Uses automation so that time is working for him and not against him.
Which is why this rule is so important!
Rule # 4 Mass Item Posting Is A Numbers Game. More Is Always More
Goldmaking, on a massive scale, becomes a numbers game. The more items you have, uploaded at the lowest available price, the bigger your chances of making a sale. The name of the game is to get more items with farms + AH flipping and to get them uploaded for the lowest price.
This is how all AH goldmaking works. No matter market you enter, it all boils down to how many auctions you have uploaded at the cheapest price.
Sounds right, doesn't it?
Rule # 5 It's Not All About You. Not Everyone Is You
The goldmaking hero.. had to learn this the hard way. Everyone is not you!
Your server is composed of thousands of unique individuals with their own motives. While YOU may never in a million years be interested in buying a 14 stack of [rough stone].. someone, somewhere is more than willing to pay for it.
And they are willing to pay the tooltip quoted price. Remember that.
Whenever I have my doubts and I think “who the heck will buy this hunk of junk” .. I like to remember that I'm not the only person on my server. Everyone on my server does not think like me.. It's not all about me.. It's not all about me. Not everyone is me - dammit.
In the world of AH sales it's all about the potential customer. It's our duty to provide them with an array of items.. both conventional, normal, and extremely outlandish.
On your server there are Relic Collectors, Profession Skillers, Pet Battlers, Nostalgic Maniacs, Completionists, and even just random kids who like buying crazy items [including grays] with their gold.
It's our duty as money-grabbing auctioneers to throw that stuff into our addons.. and let our automation sell it for us!
By getting literally EVERYTHING you find on the AH, you are servicing your entire server. You are doing a good deed. You are not wasting your time. You are letting the numbers game work in your favor.. And in your gold pouch..
Rule # 6 The Most Important Rule.. YOUR SERVER SIZE MATTERS.. Alot!
Do not let people lie to you. I have played on tiny servers.. And I've also played on the biggest server in the world. Bigger is better. Alot better.
The bigger your server the more weird items you can sell consistently. The better the chances of random out of the blue home run sells. (Old world patterns for 60k and such) If your server is HUGE and your community is lively, then you have better chances at selling any auction you upload. At first this sounds like common sense.. But to my amazement, there's still a lot of players who like to delude themselves into thinking server size does not matter. Believe me it does. I know from first hand and second hand experience. From my own posting.. and then listening to and teaching others.
In a nutshell..
With a smaller server you will need to find BETTER quality items. In my opinion, with a smaller server you need to be AH flipping to get to those better quality items. Farm items are not an option if your server is tiny.
It's why I believe you'll have a huge section of players screaming “Farms do not work!” And another section of players praising gold farms until the day they get nerfed. On low pops farming spots are a nightmare. On higher pops you can get away with murder!... Sometimes..
In essence, if you are on a lower pop server you will have to work harder than someone on a larger server.
There is no way around this. I've tried for years to tweak a formula to help people.. I've had some successes - but server is something that cannot be looked over. (Without considerable stress on the goldmaking hero)
If you think you are on a terrible server, and only want to farm for your items..- Then Move.
Alright now that we got the concept stuff out of the way.. Lets get into the good part. Lets work on getting you guys TSM. That awesome goldmaking automation machine I was taking about in rules number 1 and 2. If you've never used it before.. this is what will separate you from the masses. Lets dig in!
First off, im sure most of you have seen crazy looking whirling gizmos of a tooltip that look something like this.
At first look they look like an economics major had blurted his lifeswork into a WoW tooltip. (In fact I think that is the case)
This however is the average TSM goldmaking tooltip. And with it, we can automatically price and post items. TSM (That amazing addon we talked about earlier) will get an in depth look at how an item is selling on the AH.... And with 99% certainty tell how much an item can sell for using 100% accurate AH data. Data that's collected directly from blizzards API.
We'll be using these tooltips, (The ability they give us to post items instantaneously) in combination with the rule of sold auctions - to build our AH empire.
These tooltips are the most basic function of TSM. Every goldmaking hero has a set of these. It's like our class special ability. The stats on these tooltips can tell you everything you need to know about an item.. It will even let us know if we can / can't flip an item on the AH. (More on this later)
The most important part of having these tooltips is that it save us massive time... We no longer have to manually post items.. the addon that controls the tooltips will do that for us! And again.. Like we said earlier.. Time is money! So just using them exponentially increases the gold we make.
In the next section of this guide, we'll get you those tooltips, explain what you need to know about them, and i'll show you which statistics I use personally on a day to day basis. All of which are IDEAL in late WOD and possibly early legion.
Since all functions of goldmaking stem from the tooltips.. We'll use these stats to price, post, and flip items on the AH.
Here's my version of the goldmaking tooltip:
Lets work on getting you this epic tooltip so you can start posting your items super fast. To do that, we'll have to download a few addons and configure those addons in game.
No worries I've made it super easy. I created a short video that will walk you through the entire setup process. Check it out!
Here's the breakdown of it by time stamp. If you already have the TSM app you can skip up to whatever part is relevant to you.
Video below.
00:00 – 00:48 (Introduction)
00:49 – 02:57 (Downloading TSM from The Curse Client)
03:00 – 05:55 (Creating TSM account and installing the TSM app)
06:04 – 08:30 (Setting up our TSM To give data our server / region)
08:31 + (Configuring Your Ideal TSM Tooltips
After the setup video, make sure you enable all of your TSM addons. Make doubly sure that you got the entire TSM suite along with the TSM app helper. If you need help let me know in the thread. I'm here to help!
Alright The Next Part is going to get very gold technical.. It might be a little overwhelming for some- so pay attention! We're gonna talk about the statistics im using right now as we go into legion.
Lets get started.

Stat 1 DbregionHistorical: “I always keep this stat on my tooltip no matter what” - Stevesgamebox
This is a golden stat. I use this to get an “overall” look at an items value. This is usually my go to stat for deciding how much an item is worth IN GENERAL.
Lets break it down. If you can understand EXACTLY what this stat tells you, you can get a glimpse at why it's so damn important. First it's called "DB - REGION - HISTORICAL". So lets start with the "DB" part. The DB part just refers to TSM's database. It's a non-important prefix for most goldmaking statistics. It's simple non-eventful code slang. When you see the “DB” part in any tooltip – ignore it.
(For further cases when breaking down statistics, I'll no longer include the "DB" explanation).
Secondly, there's the "region" part. This refers to your region! There's only 2 so far. U.S & EU. So if your in the U.S this stat will take into account AH data from all US servers.
If your in EU it will take data in account from all EU servers instead.
So far so good? =)
Thirdly "Historical" part. This is the part that everyone needs clarification on. The historical part refers to "data over a longer period of time" - hence the word "historical" More specifically, in this case - a time span of 60 days. So in total, we have "DbregionHistorical" which means: TSM's calculated value of an item across your entire region for the last 60 days.
Pretty simple. Pretty easy!
Basically this stat is saying: "across the last 60 days, on average, most servers in your region, have been pricing this item at "xxxxx" amount of gold. It's simple, fun, and frighteningly accurate.
This stat is super duper ultra phantasmal important.. and don't you ever forget it.
Anyway, I use this super awesome stat as my go to for evaluating the price of every farm drops / most AH resells I get.
When you think of Dbregionhistorial.. think of transmog / BOE / Overall regional appraisal!
But that's ONLY for BOE / Transmog items. For trade goods (herbs, ore, leather, etc) I like to use another cool stat.
Stat 2 Market price: "I use this stat whenever I find a trade good on my server - Or when I want to see how my specific server values an item"
The market price the other stat BIG stat. Personally I make HEAVY gold off this stat when flipping trade goods on the AH. But for your purpose we'll be using this to evaluate how much trade goods are worth.
Now before we get into it, let me break this down a bit more.
Market price, is the most prominent stat across most addons.
If you ever downloaded Auctioneer or auctionator, or any AH addon... They will calculate an items value using the market price. The market price is a 14 day evaluation of what an item is currently selling for on your server. It will NEVER take in any insight from other realms.
To find the market value an in depth process takes place. AuctionDB will take a look at all the lowest prices an item has been posted for on your servers AH... Taking into account the last 14 days. It will then spit out a weighted average known as the market value. In short, it's a snapshot of what an item is CURRENTLY selling for on your server at recent times, at this very moment (With a weighted average from the last 14 days). We use this stat to get an estimate on what an item is worth in recent times.
In General when you see a trade good.. Or want a recent estimate.. Think “Market value!”
------------------------------------------------
Stat 3 Region Sale average: "What!? We can now see what an item actually has SOLD for.. Blasphemy!"
One of Azeroths most epic stats. This stat reads out exactly as what it is. The average price that an items actually SELLS for across your region. Not how much it's posted for.. but actually has SOLD for.
AVERAGE being the key word.
Unlike the other stats, this one is based off when a player actually makes a purchase. Only taking into account SOLD AH data. You get the Intel on what the item is actually selling for... Now the downside to this stat.. is that it may be SLIGHTLY subject to data poisoning. Why? Well if someone posts an exceptionally well selling item for a ridiculously low price... (Lets say a mechanohog for 5,500g)
Chances are.. someones gonna buy it!
90% of the time, this stat usually has the lowest value compared to other statistics. But that's just due to the nature of people buying good deals. While TSM has safeguards to prevent this.. It's not 100% infallible.
When you see this stat, think: “Hmmmm so people are only willing to pay this much most the time”..
So put that all together..
The DBregionhistorical is used to get an overall estimate of an items value
The Market value is an accurate estimation of an items recent price
The Global Sale Average is what people are actually paying for each item.
Those 3 are what I use to gauge any item I come across. Whether farming or reselling items to flip on the AH – these three are my goldmakers. As for AH flipping, (Which is a bit more complicated) I like to compare multiple stats to each-other to determine if an item is good to resell or not.
Obviously a LARGE potion of my gold comes strictly from AH flipping through comparing these stats.
In WOD they have been my big goldmakers..
Of course, there are other stats I've used.. But I like to keep things super simple if you haven't noticed..
Finally, we're up to the very last part of the setup. Making it so that TSM is able to post ANYTHING you find on the AH. After this we can get to the most important section of them all... How to get items at a super fast speed. I'll be showcasing ALL THE FARM SPOTS that are still working right now! These are spots that are currently working right here as we go into legion. So take heed. Once you watch the next video and get everything set up.. We'll be going in depth with the dozens of farm spots available.
For this last setup (Where I'll show you how to get TSM to post ANYTHING you find - automatically) I've made another video for you guys. This way you can see how I set things up first hand.. As well as how I go about posting items at such inhuman speeds.
Anyway the TSM configuring video is below.. Please follow it as closely as you can. I made it as clear as possible.. Again, even an orc can do it!
Lets get started!
What happens in the video above?
By the end of this video, we’ll turn TSM into our personal auction house posting machine… And profit immensely because of it.
So to get TSM to sell things for us, we really only have to do 3 things:
1) Tell it which items to sell for us (Create a group in TSM)
2) Tell it for what prices to sell them for (Create an operation in TSM)
3) Go to the auction house and sell them. (Post With TSM)
Once that’s done, your only real worry is to get more items and make sure your stock never runs out. And we have a cool list of farms that covers the entire process! (Next section)
But before we continue, lets clarify everything we've done in the video above..
First off, we created 2 groups in TSM. The purpose of the “groups” are to tell TSM which items to sell. The first group was for our BOE's, Xmogs, and non-stacking items, the other group was for our stackable trade good items. (Herbs, ore, cloth, leather, spirits of harmony, ETC)
When we obtain an item from a farm or the AH, we'll add those items in 1 of the 2 groups. If it stacks, we add it to the “stackable group” (as labelled in video above) – if it doesn't we'll add it to the “non-stackable group”.
Easy right? So far so good? =)
Then we created 2 operations. Now, operations are our way of telling Trade skill master HOW to sell our items. By creating an operation we tell TSM to sell our items according to the values on the TSM tooltip.
That means all the pricing work is done for you – beforehand. (Again saving you massive time)
So for example, if we have this item....
And we wanted to sell it on the AH for it's full market price
We'll tell TSM to do so in our operations.
The market price of the love bird is 4707g. I'll highlight it in the image below. Anyhow, when we create our operations we'll tell TSM to sell the items by 100% of the market price. Which is entered into TSM as: “100% dbmarket”
Check it out:
Alright, so that's a basic example.. but essentially all we did in the video above. We created 2 groups, then created 2 operations to help you sell those items!
Now of course you can get super-duper complicated with your groups (I know I sure have).. but for those of you who want to hit the ground running fast.. this will definitely do the trick.
In essence, with this newbie setup you can just farm and place items in groups as you see fit. Just remember, stackable items in one group – unstackable in the other. As you get more advanced and familiar with TSM you'll eventually start making whacky group combinations of your own.
But if you just getting started stick with this for now. It's like training wheels – training wheels that actually work though!
Originally I had all the farms spots listed out in a text version for everyone to see. No longer.. This video is a YouTube Version of that huge list. In this mega video we'll go over 30 farms that I think kick assimus. This video was actually done on my YouTube channel pretty recently and I think It'll give you mega feedback on what spots are still working.
Even better!.. We've set it up so that if you want to know more about a farm, you can click the annotation in the video and get another video dedicated specifically to that spot. It's a super guide designed to help you get the most of every farm spot it lists!
As we venture into legion, please note that some of the farms may be affected negatively. Which is why now is the right time to spam them up. Also know that the potion of luck may not be working in pre-patch, so hit those farms NOW if you need to. I do believe since the potion of treasure finding is being nerfed soon.. that the prices of the ore and cloth it contains will soon be going up.
It's the classic supply / demand scenario being played out... Just some food for thought..
Perhaps, the ores / cloth dropped can be flipped pretty soon...
Which leads me into the next section.... lets get into some basic AH flipping to get your mind working!
Alright Kudos! If you made is this far that means your almost done! Lets start looking at some cool AH finesse. Let me show you what I mean when I said "The tooltips can be used to flip items".
Again, alot of this stuff I show in my ownedcore service.. so to be fair I can't openly reveal much. But this is an AWESOME example shows what flipping items is all about.. (minus a few steps)...
Take a look at the image below.
Notice how globally, all selling points on this item ARE WAY higher than the AH price? This is an ideal flip. Finding items like these can literally takes seconds when compared to farming them.. which can take hours! Once you know how to work your way around the AH.. You can learn to find deals like these with relative ease. Which is why most goldmaking heroes eventually quit farming and turn to the AH full time.
Notice how the global sale average (remember you can always look up to see what global sale average means) is TWICE the posted AH price?
In the AH world, deals like this are KILLER! In general global sale averages are always on the low side due to the nature of the stat. Learning to gauge items, and find disparages like this are what will add extra thunder to your goldmaking.
It's the power of using the AH to farm items. Which to me is the holy grail of managing your time.. and making big gold.
Again, it's not easy to digest – but once you learn it, it's easy to work into your schedule everyday.
Start with just a scan a day.
Even if you don't feel confident with finding items In this manner, just try 3 a day. Slowly add items to your stock by skimming over the deals in the AH. Mark my words.. you will find some insanely interesting deals..
Look over the prices and compare them to what you know about statistics. If you see a HUGE difference.. then you KNOW what you should do.
Anyway, this is how I've done my duty to building up massive gold piles on many servers. And It's as timeless as WoW itself.
With your TSM tooltips.. TSM setup.. Understanding of the numbers game.. Working farm spots.. And the reply's in this guide - you have more than enough ammunition to get started.
Overall, this is the mindset I've used to teach myself how to make gold... And its what I've learned in the past 2 years running my ownedcore service / goldmaking website..
If you think all those goldmaking stuff is the “bees-knees” and what not, then you know where to visit to learn more. I'm more than glad to teach this stuff.. Well into legion and beyond!
WoW goldmaking is my passion. And I think everyone should at least know the basics!
As a WOW multi-millionaire myself, who earned all of my gold legitimately, and with the help of various addon tools like TSM, I endorse your guide, but more importantly, I think it is important to acknowledge the effort and formatting and structure you put into your guide.
Ownedcore is a better place because you are here. +7 rep, and also a THANKS!
Very informative guide and so well written. I've earned milions only by attending to my AH hundreds of auctions a few times a week since late Wotlk using AH addons, mainly TSM. This all wouldn't be possible without TSM, originally a very simple addon which then developed into beast which it is now.
Which brings me to my point: you did not mention one powerful feature of TSM - shopping operations. It is them that let me earn millions since they were introduced. First in collaboration with WoWuction, later as a standalone TSM feature.
I don't scan AH with TSM, I don't search for flipping bargains - after all these years I'm too lazy - I let the bargains come to me. TSM shopping operations get me emailed instantly once a bargain appears on AH that meets my criteria (Item sells for minimum 1500g on average and current BO is 15% of item's worth).
I'm not good in writing guides (or even using English for that matter), so perhaps you would feel like to expand your guide to mention shopping operations. Just to show how much potential it has, a recent screenshot of mine below (that day was extraordinarily lucky, it's not that profitable every day, but you get the idea). The items in chat were snatched for few gold/piece via AH phone app after TSM bargains notifications and I expect them to sell for thousands of gold. As you pointed out in your guide, every seller has their own secret strategies, so I'm not revealing my items, but I can say there are plenty of lists of items worth flipping posted all over internet including gold guides here on ownedcore .
I hope you or moderators will not feel like I'm interfering with your guide, if you do - feel free to delete this post. I only meant to share with people something that has been successful for me in WoW consistently for years.
Very well done Steve. As much as I hate when i see the best spots pop up in youtube videos all the time, I do owe you some credit with TSM. I used to hate it but then after watching a video you made on it and some streamers who use it a lot, I love it. I have made an easy 5-6m from my transmog farming and such.
In your video you say links are in the video below but the video is embeded into the website so i cant see them. Are they on youtube or somewhere else i can see?
TSM Item Tracker is deprecated and integrated into TSM core, as TSM just told me... so how old is this?
I just skimmed as I had seen the videos and such before on YouTube. But a lot of this content was from before they updated TSM not too long ago. When they removed the WoWuction integration and such.
May want to look through the info and update some stuff Steve as I assume this was just copypasta from another forum you posted it on a while back.
after following your tooltip setup guide, to the letter, i ended up with This. This clearly looks a bit different than yours, and thats OK, but, how do i remove the red square, or move it to the bottom?
Also, in my TSM, Max Expires is greyed out. why?
Also Also: I notice in your second video, when you're creating your two groups (stackable, nonstackable) when you make the stackable group you DONT change anyhting under the "when under minimum" and "when over maximum". was that just a mistake and we should do it the same as nonstackable anyways?
Also Also Also: Whats that scroll wheel macro?

Is there any way to pause the tsm-shopping scan?
And would anyone mind to share some good item-groupings and/or operations for AH-flipping? (I would be really thankful )
