I have a different solution I use constantly. Basically delete your toon, have your character make a toon on the same name and keep that toon logged in the entire time. Now submit a GM ticket saying you accidentally deleted your alt. They GM will restore your character and if your friend was playing the toon while you did it you will get a free name change. Takes maybe 20 minutes depending on the time of day.

Well, what worked for me about a year back was to open a ticket saying that my name was under copyright in a foreign country and that they were pressing charges if my name wasn't changed immediately.

About 10 hours later logged in an was prompted for a name change, who knows if it works now.

here a guide to change ur character name.
Open a ticket saying that the name of your character was select from your girlfriend much time ago, that now you don't want to talk with her more, and that every time u see the name u get unhappy and if not change u will stop playing , wait 2 days.

Just make sure whatever you say to the gm, you stick with it, because i submitted multiple tickets to gms about my name and kind of changed my story around the 20th one or so -_-

this all depends on the GM you get, and what kind of mood he/she is in

yeah it does, i cudnt change the name of my ally main, cuz the gm just got mad and said i have to pay.:yuck:

but when i went to my horde alt (belf female pala)

i cud change it w/o no problems ^^ changed it

this doesnt work anymore cuz its now able to change our name in account management by money... so GM will just tell us to pay to change our name!
