Make money off of the fast-dropping value of Alchemical Catalysts

Hey guys, as a first post on this forum, I wanted to share with you a way to make a little bit of gold off of the current value of Alchemical Catalyst. (Alchemical Catalyst - Item - World of Warcraft)

Currently, Alchemical Catalysts aren't used for a lot. Just for the creation of a limited amount of flasks. However, you can also make Draenic Philosopher's Stone with it. This currently has a vendor value of 25g, 31s and 47c. (Draenic Philosopher's Stone - Spell - World of Warcraft)

Total crafting requirements for the Stone:
- 5 Alchemical Catalyst
- 1 True Iron Ore

True Iron Ore is insanely cheap right now. I'd be amazed if it's worth more than 1g on your server currently. Considering that cost, the value of 5 Catalysts, to the vendor, will always be at least 24g/5 = 4,8g (per catalyst).

So go out there and check on your Auction Houses! As long as the Catalysts are below 4,8g, they'll vendorflip into a profit. Sometimes they go as low as 2g, sometimes they go higher than 4,8g. It depends on the day.

I'm active on multiple servers doing this "trick", and have found that between 03:00 and 09:00, most people dump this on the AH for -very- low prices.

Alchemical Catalysts go for 35g each on my server, True Iron Ore is 94s. On my alt's medium pop server there is only one catalyst, going for 6 gold. Also for some reason I'm not seeing Alchemical Catalyst on wowuction or theunderminejournal so I can't tell what they go for on other servers.

If I ever see these for 4.8g or under I'll give it a shot, thanks I guess.

Sadly, it's not disenchantable.

Additionally, I seem to have posted this only a couple hours after the 6.1 updates, where they announce multiple changes towards the usage of the Catalyst. :< I think that increased the price a little bit, lol. Either way, definitely worth it to keep checking your AH. Aint nothing better than seeing a banker drop a couple stacks of 200 Catalysts for 600g per stack.

so a heads up:

in 6.1 ptr dataminig the catalyst will rise insanely in prices, both due to alchemists being able to transmute catalysts+sorcerous elements into savage blood (50 catalysts) as well as alchemists being able to upgrade their trinket to 680(!). Expect everything associated with Alchemy to increase tenfold post patch

Funny enough saw this post checked my AH there was like 600 catalyst going 2-4g each bought em all, now they went up to 90g which is funny because savage bloods are going 1k so you couldnt buy 50 to make a small profit unless they were below 20g, anyways you said truesilver ore when it is true iron ore

With the reduction in prices this is still very, very relevant! On my server I mass bought ore and catalysts, 1g per ore and 4g per catalyst. You can still make some insane gold out of nothing with this! I make around 8k per hour doing literally nothing. Just occasionally spam trade for mats and vendor the catalysts with "create all" going
