Powerleveling yourself via Group Finder, XP Bonus for zoning Rares
Starting at level 10, any character on a regular WoW account can use the Group Finder option.
...
Normally people don't use this much until level 15 due to instances being unlocked at 15 --
but due to cross-server zoning, there is an incentive to use Group Finder and that reason is Rare Spawns.
I think starting around Cata (maybe earlier? lol!), Blizz decided that "rare" mobs, i.e. killable NPCs with a silver dragon around their respective portraits, would give a bonus XP award based on the player character's level.
This method of power leveling is by no means what I would consider to be dependable on every server.
Some rares are quite farmed (to death/ad nauseum) -- but if you are on top of spawn timers, or are an early riser/late night player, or just very patient/lucky,
you can find yourself achieving multiple levels -- sometimes within a very few minutes -- and all without being in an instance, doing quests, or being carried.
The only downside to doing this without a flying mount is that a few of the harder-to-reach rare spawns are (duh) often the best to farm via this method.
Kids don't like going up hills and into caves etc. unless a quest calls for it.

Some good spots to do this: Elwynn Forest (best lvl 10-ish area to start server hopping because lots of people just don't think about it) (lots of stationary spawns)
Morgaine the Sly is my personal fave to start with:

Darkshore - again lots of stationary spawns and a few that are not obvious/not simple to check on
Northern Barrens
Duskwood
later on: Stonetalon Mountains (a good one is the beetle where the goblin scaffolds were recently added)
50-60: Blasted Lands (tons of rares to hop here! see other threads on Ownedcore for more details)

This method peters out around lvl 60 due to Outlands rares and onward being "bloody rare" ;(
but if you like to work alone, are comfortable with server hopping even when people cuss you out etc.,
it's a good way to get "free" levels and good XMOG loot on any server where you have Heirlooms avail.
p.s needless to say Heirlooms vastly improve the value of this method,
as some rares are not 100% easy for some classes to solo,
and experience bonus rewards are nice to have.

p.p.s. how to server hop:
press the "I" key to bring up the Groups Tab.
Select "Premade", then Custom, then use the search function to whittle the groups down to a manageable level.
then find some that have auto invite or friendly leaders and just apply until you get an invite.
be patient as many of the groups will not zone you due to being in your server group already.
in spite of that, given a good camping time, this method is hard to beat.
it's also less monotonous than instance grinding for some people.
