I did not see this posted anywhere, but if you die you cannot get the honor debuff.

EDIT: You have to be in spirit form, so run away from the rezzer and you should be fine.

Do you not even gain the random +20 honour ones? or is it just honour kills?

they're not random.. you get +20 honor when a lieutenant is killed, tower is capped, etc.
dunno if you still get them when you're dead, gotta try
