Life of an AoE grinding mage. 14-70

currently level 30 10/14/07this is my main and i enjoy pvp and other things. this is just

i am HORDE!

ok well i am an X-Glider. i got about 2-3 hours a day. all my friends are 70 and are all in same boat. (no mages and 1 pally-but he sucks)

so i am solo at these low lvls. i wanna get to 70 the fastest way possible without botting. i seen Kurios's glider 1-60 and found it very useful for some of the newer gliders. i have played much of every class, but mage. (i seem to learn how to play classes very fast, and i am always giving pointers to people, even if they dont want em)

so lets get to the guide!
i just dinged 14 with my troll mage. (such sexy feet)


so level 14 AoE grinding is kinda different. I myself had made this up. Always carry mana, health and other useful pots.

#1. Run in and grab mobs-No spells! Save your mana. (make sure you are buffed!)
#2 drop an arcane
#3 drop forst nova
#4 step back so you are hardly in range for arcane
#5 spam arcane till dead, if low on health, drop pot. (**if last mobs are under 30 hp and you have no mana, hp-----drop a mana pot of totally oom, idf you got 10-15, drop a heal)

---14 to 16-----------------------------------------(had 1 WC run to do all the quests in there at once, i got the green chest(16), the blue staff(20), the blue shoulders (23-super rare) and the crest staff from the quest chain.)



ok heres what this means.
Go to area 1, kill em all.
Go to area 2, kill em all.
Back to area 1.
so 1,2,1,3,1,4,1,5 than repeat.
13k exp/hr at lvl 15(new*)

#1 is your primary spot. there are the Razormane guys. (pull 4-5)
Thottbot World of Warcraft: Quest: Disrupt the Attacks can be done here. you are killing Thottbot World of Warcraft: Creature: Razormane Water Seeker mainly, but it is ok to get a one of the other 2. (but pull em around a corner and wait till they come up before you frost nova)

#2,3,4 and 5 is your secondary spots. these are the lions (pull 4-5) Thottbot World of Warcraft: Creature: Savannah Huntress. these guys u just run in and nova.

for most of the time it was me and a 14 mage (long time buddy's alt)
by myself i could take 4-5 mobs. the both of use could take down 8-9 but its really hard to pull that many. (so we would get 5-6 ish)

Sry no stats, we had a 21 shaman hunter trying to tame echyakee, way to tempting. (she had to bring her 26 friend, but my friend had his 70 rogue, so they got a 70 bm hunter that got owned by a rogue, what a newb)

-downfalls-
not a real fast respawn time
can get kinda tricky, would suggest a friend for a second frostnova.

-Advanyages-
they dont hit very hard (speed around 1.4-1.6)
can pull 3-4 pretty easy. (one spot i pulled 9, i had 10 hp at the end of the fight =D)
Quite a few mobs

Gear- 12 ish, a few and just asmany greens.

---18 to 20-----------------------------------------(also on the very north west corner map are some fairies that are pretty easy to get, but anything over 4 you are most likely gonna need a pot)

Thottbot World of Warcraft: Quest: Stolen Silver after Thottbot World of Warcraft: Quest: Raptor Thieves which also can be done here.
(thott says a a low drop rate but its actually around 10%)
Thottbot World of Warcraft: Quest: Raptor Horns
Pretty tough area, hard to pull more than 3 so keep your frost armor on all th time and try and run to the next set.
(usually i get 4)

-disadvantages-
Pretty had area to get more than 2 (but it gets easier with practice)
a few pats you might grab 1/2 int your pull. (so watch it!)

-Advantages-
Many quests
pretty fast respawn

I FOUND IT SO HARD TO AOE GRIND AT 20! so i teamed up with other mages.

20-26 South barrens! the Dig!
26-28 Hillsbrad farmers!
28-30 hillsbrad mine! (watch where u blink)

these 3 zones are easy, can use pretty much any method.


30 to present
-Araith highlands!
-dabyries farm
-solo pats that go around!
-dont pull to many! 6-7! (can do more but the higher chance of resist)

hmm your idea could be cool. hmm i think im gonna try this. and make a guide on what to aoe and when. what levels and that.

could you add XP/hour and do you need good gear (instance) or just random (found items)

Get a lock to make you a HS, it doesn't share the same GC as the pots, but good job

i might do that, but i am not always gonna have a lock with me.

BUT sooner or later im gonna get my sister evolved. (24 holy priest)
so i can pull alot more mobs.

Mage + Priest = uber power aoe grinders.

Priests can get a holy spell that hurts enemies and heals friendlys

Priest spam that mage spam theirs aoe and easily they can take down 10 mobs in no time. To bad priest dont get that unless they specc for it and that requires some level (uh 30-40 dunno rly)

I started leveling my mage up about 3weeks now only play on the mage 2hours per day or so.
Started Aoeing at level26 ( No point in doing it before hand you level faster by doing quest in the starter area's.. )

Current level: 51
Played time 5days and 8hours.
Level 40 - 50 is a breeze flew through those specialy at level44 pirates in Tanaris are the business.

Xp per hour depends on the amount times pesky alliance toons come along and kill me in the middle of a aoe.
around 40k - Best so far 52k ( This one was rested )
Tanaris 10mobs rested xp grabbed 500xp each.

Health Pool, and mana pool are the most important stats here.
