IoC and Engineers

First off I posted my thread on both Public Forums and Here.

This battleground is quite fun. Either faction for me is fun to play on. I have won on Horde and Alliance and have used Engineering to my advantage. I want to teach you of a new trick I have discovered lately as I had been trying to develop a aerial assault strategy on Alliance.

It begins with using old school BC Rocket boots.

Rocket Boots Xtreme or Lite

Then you create a macro using a Darkwater Potion as soon as you use the boots.

The result is a top speed of 680% which is used for momentum.

Your launch point is the cliff of the Hangar Flag. Your cloak tinker needs to be Flexweave Underlay the Parachute cloak.

If done correctly you will launch right into the cluster of bombs facing the west gate.

PSS, The trick regarding the potion and boots will soon be changed in WoD to put them on similar CD. Enjoy it while you can.

The concept of gliding into the other's base is awesome.. but I think there's a flaw in the speed boosts. Download the monkeyspeed addon and watch your speed changes the moment you hit the glider. From my understanding, the moment you glide, it has a set speed, no matter what you were moving prior to hitting it(cinderfall rare drop will Amp up glide speed 'after' gliding, but cant use in BG). To have the speed increases actually matter, have to use either some other slowfall spell/effect or parachute, but you lose steering when you do that.

I'd say test it without the speed boosts. I think you could probably still get there. And instead use the speed boosts to get to the jump spot faster.

EDit.. My bad Misread that and missed the part about parachute cloak instead of glider.

He uses the old parachute which just works as a slowfall, no impact on the moving speed

Tested horde method.. Pretty easy gliding in there, can make for some fun premade strats with a large group of engineers

Thanks for trying out horde side. Pretty fun to do the trick. Working on other methods for my warlock to use demonic teleport.

Not exactly the same thing, but since were on the subject. It's possible to goblin glide from the horde airship to the alliance ship (and probably vice versa) while they are both docked. I did use disengage and rocket jump as a hunter but may not have been necessary.

Unfair.. but deviously useful. I have yet to try it myself (since I dont have an engineer).. But I'm thinking of making one in WOD.
