    [Guide] Leveling Horde 1-60

    Horde Leveling 1-60 with QUESTS

    Maps:

    Barrens - Attachment 34

    Thousand Needles - Attachment 35

    Desolance - Attachment 36

First you have to know that it's a guide for help you there is many way to get the level 60 not only that one ! Then this is for a typical group mix. Grouping will definitely make your leveling life easier. Even if you think that splitting the XP from a mob between 5 people isn't worth it , you have to look at how many mobs you are killing and how quickly you are killing them. There is just no comparison.

When you ask people to join a group , make sure you know what the group is going to do.If you have specific quests you want to do , see if people are willing to join to do those quests , or to farm a specific area , or to do a specific instance dungeon.

    Beginner Level (1-12)

-Very early on , a specific race will only level in their starting zones.
-Each race gets their own zone until around level 10.
-These levels go by very quickly , you can found how to level in theses zones Here

So if you follow your appropriate guide for your race and faction , you will be level 11/12.When you reach this point in game read the next :

    Horde leveling 12-25

At level 12 , the first place you want to start is The Barrens. Head to the Crossroads (Section A) , in the barrens to pick up a number of useful and easy quests ; go the the crossroad , DON'T FORGET to find the Inn and the Flying Road there ; and in the other town it must be a reflex! And after do this quest : ( you have to take the road to the south of X-road and go to the west by the Camp Taurajo)

The hunter's way-Easy delivery quest.-Start with Skorn Whitecloud-Flatland Prowler can be found Here-Delivery it at Melor Stonehoof an Thunder Bluff and take the fly to X-road.

Enjoy No matter how you slice it, grinding is the fastest way to level in WoW. Maybe not the most fun, but it is much faster than questing.

    GRINDING

10-13 Dreadmaw Crocolisks in the river between Durator and Barrens. 14,000 exp per hour

13-16 Southsea Bandits and Cannoneers south of Ratchet. 14,000 exp per hour

16-19 Theramore Marines outside Norwatch Keep. 16,000 exp per hour

19-22 South Barrens Stormhides and Quilboards. 18,000 exp per hour.

22-24 Bears and Spiders right outside Tarren Mill. 20,000 exp per hour

24-26 Centaur north of Freewind Post in 1,000 Needles (outside the cave) 20,000 exp per hour (lots of mining opportunities; Tin, Iron)

26-30 Centaur north of Freewind Post in 1,000 Needles (inside the cave) 20,000 exp per hour (lots of mining opportunities; Iron, Gold, some Mithril)

30-32 Roguefeather Harpies inside cave on south wall of 1,000 Needles. 20,000 exp per hour (lots of mining opportunities; Iron, Gold)

Note: The Kurzen areas are generally considered broken now; especially for Horde on PvP servers. But it's all I currently know at this level as the spot was so good at the time, that is all I did from 32-42.

32-37 Kurzen camp in North Stranglethorn Vale (outside cave) 26,000 -32,000 exp per hour. This actually got better as I went up in level as long as no one else was at the camp. At level 36, I tested about 1/4 of the level and my experience rate was 32,640 per hour when I had to stop and go sell.

37-42 Kurzen camp in North Stranglethorn (inside cave) 29,000 - 34,000 exp per hour; 5-7 gold per hour. Go in past the Kurzen Commandos and Kurzen Headhunters to the Elites and Witchdoctors. The Commandos have armor, and stun you when they are low on life, so they are poor experience, but the Elites and Witchdoctors inside are the same old no-armor experience givers. I told my guild this area is just a leveling field with juicy experiene berries waiting to be plucked. I'm currently 39 here, and still doing full levels in just about 2 hours of grinding.

I didn't grind as exclusively from here on out, so I'm going to shotgun a few spots and level ranges that felt "Good". I still measured exp per hour, but this was just after the last patch where they upgraded armor and HP on most monsters I grind on, so exp definitely slowed down.

42 - 45 Woodpaw Gnolls in Feralas, south of Camp Mojache. Stay away from the Trappers and Brutes IMO, and head further south to the Mystics and Reavers. I liked the area that was still on flat land with a couple of Alpha camps on raised mounds. I usually avoided the alphas as they tended to be bugged/grouped in a cluster of 3. Spell disruption is a must for the Mystics. I cleared about 24k exp per hour here typically.

42-44 Ogres in Feralas. Due north of camp Mojache in the mountains. The Mages are best if you have spell disruption, but I worked through all of them and they were all good experience. The Brutes will throw you, so make sure they don't throw you into an add. 20-24k exp per hour.

44 - 47/48 Dustbelcher Ogres in the Badlands. Now here is a good spot, and it may be good on PvP as well. I camped this cave for 3 hours one Saturday without seeing another player. The cave is in the Southwest corner of the bladlands past a bunch of Ogres. The reason why I say the cave, is that it's about 75% Ogre Mages, and if you have spell disruption, they go down easy. Very low hp and low armor even after the patch. The only reason I left at 48 is I could clear the spawn too quickly, and I wanted to do Tanaris quests.

48-52 Dunemaul Ogres in Tanaris (great Mageweave drops). I like the NE ruins for the early levels, as I could move around it in a circle. Once I got to 50, I liked the higher density in the actual Dunemaul Compound area.

52-56 Western Plaugelands. The field with the Skeletal Slayers right by the Bulwark. Great Runecloth drops, and actually I prefered to kill the melees here over the casters (casters seemed to have the same HP and armor as melees). I've been pulling 26k exp per hour or better here.

    10-30

At level 10, I can speak for the "horde" only. So.... "Here's what I did..." I'll take you thru the akward 10-30 levels... Also to let you know, I was pretty much using "store" bought weapons. At that time the AH was pretty much barren and void of anything decent. You lucky ones who have started aftewards are lucky. Also, keep in mind, I went from lvl 1-14 in the first day and 14-26 by the second. They were ALL day events, so if your not hardcore, don't get hard pressed that you're not at the same pace. The game has a lvl cap, so don't feel you need to hit it all in one day. Trust me, you have "time" to catch up.

This is pretty much what I did in OB on two characters and finally what I did in retail to level passed others. Also, you should note I pretty much skipped alot of my quests in the beginning. I feel the early quests are kinda fillers for people who "Only want to quest." The same sort of items if not better can be found outside in the world.

Uhm, as the Good people of the church say, "The Lord will provide", in this case, the WOW people. Quests are great for a coincedental XP, but the running around takes away from valuable farming and XP. Trust me, there are plenty of quests, and the early ones are crowded as it is. There will be plenty of awesome stuff to get later, after lvl 30. So forget those quests for right now, most of it that drops regularly is pretty much better. I'd say if you like a specific item off one of them "do it" otherwise, have faith. Also, alot of you are going to be screaming about me skipping instances such as the one in the Cleft of Shadows; for those people, I am sorry and wouldn't suggest any instances until you are 20. The XP isn't that great, and you waiste time dying alot. Ok, so here goes....

    1. (1st Day) LvL 10 - Get to the Barrens - I say this because the quests are pretty simple and best of all, they are all linear (You can do them lvl by lvl and not do much traveling). I found being in the Undead area it was kind of all over the place, and I spent more time looking for the 1 quest mob that everybody else was trying to kill. Also, I did play a troll hunter, and found it to be the same case for the Trolls.

    2. LvL 10 => Lvl 15 - Discover the Crossroads - Find the inn, make it your new home. You will be spending alot of time here. Load up on all the quests, you are going to find as you level, there will be some quest mobs that you just run up on. I started with the Plainsrunners and Zhevra's. Till you get some decent gear, stick to your level. I started farming from the bridge that connected (Durotar? Ogrimmar region and the Barrens) and moved south west into the Crossroads. The alligators are around level 10 and have a good chance of dropping decent items. Stay away from the scorpian type creatures and mostly anything that have a lasting poison/effect as it does slow down your farming time. You want to move from there killing Plainstriders and Zhevra's.

***TIP***You want to work in an area that there is no aggressive type mobs, the Zhevra's and Plainstriders are non-aggro and non-social. Killing 2 at once is mostly a death sentance when you're a lowbie, so stick to the area that is lowbie friendly. Again this should be at the camp between Ogrimmar and the Barrens (Crossroads). There is a little Horde camp there that I like. It's the first place you run into west of Oggrimar. Grind on these two mobs until you hit about 14/15.

    3. (2nd Day) 14/15 => 18 - NW Barrens - About this time you are probably finding you can start doing some quests at lvl 15. Fine, but keep moving thru each mob until you hit your quest mob area. They have you kill the female lions and male lions and all sorts of stuff ie Centaurs. If you are grinding more like I suggest, move yourself on the road NW of the Barrens. The plainstriders and Zhevras go up in level, which is nice, because they have a tendancy to drop gear and cloth/cotten as well as sticking to "your" level.

    4. 17/18 => 20 Ok, stay away from the Centaurs and such as they tend to gang up on you. Stick with north area of crossroads, you almost get close to going into Ashenvale, but "keep west" of that. Ok, this was my sweet spot. I loved this area because there is a hidden vendor back here. If you can't find him, he is in the very NORTH WEST spot of the Barrens. North of the Harpies area and West of the Road leading into Ashenvale. You're going to notice Girafe's, Lions, Aggro-Plainstriders. Ya, its getting a bit tougher, but, the good news is that the mobs are compact here. Compact mobs = High output of kills, ie. More XP, more chances for items. Also you should see a shop close by, even better, means you can farm 10 seconds away from a shop. PICK UP EVERYTHING and sell it, this is good, because if you don't have alot of bags or the bags are 6/8 slot bags, it keeps you free from having to STOP and go back to town. Any green items save for the AH, when you are overloaded by the green hearthstone back and travel to Ogrimmar and AH your stuff. Do this until you are 21/22 or until you are bored. LOL

    5. 21/22 => 24/25 Ok, now, if you put off doing the quests in the Barrens, great news, you can pretty much burn threw a good portion of them and bang out alot of XP from doing the quests. Knock these quests out now, alot of the mobs are still close to your level to give you XP and items. Centaur quests will eventually give you a nice ring (prob your first), Echyake or however you pronouce it is a good quest. There are Quillaboars (Boar guys) have good quests/drops. Since you are a high level, with increasingly better stuff or money situation they are easy to solo and you don't have to rely on a group to do them or at least only need one friend.

    6. 24/25+ => 29/30 South of the Crossroads is Camp Tarujo - This was my favorite area, put off the quests there for a second. These Thunder Lizards (Big Dinosaur looking creatures) I made alot of money off of these, like 10g in 1/2 hours. One stack of gizzards should net you like 1g. Camp Taurujo is pretty close to repair and sell off things as you go. You can basically start off with the ones that are 21/22 then work your way to about 28. You can also kill the scorpians in this area for the famed "egg" quest and such. Again, I'd postpone your questing for the grinding, but if you need a break from the grind, by all means. There is a special mob Dinosaur (Lighting Lizard) here, kill him, (Onwatanka), he gives you a quick 2800xp plus he drops some of the best equipment I ever got until I hit 30+. You can kill him over and over again. Also, around this area has quests from Camp Taurjo, one of the quests gives you the ability to turn in Bloodshards, which are used for some real nice buffs, and of course quick xp. There is another Boarman type quest that the mobs drop "weapons" for quest items and also have a good tendacy to drop nice rings. This area and the Thunder Lizards were my favorite because of the high quality drops and easy XP. GL there..

    7. (3rd Day) LvL 30+ (or if you haven't hit it already) - Do the instances you passed up on. By now, you are probably ahead of most people in the area. They will gladly welcome you into Cleft of Shadows Instance or Wailing Caverns. You also want to check back in the Hall of Heros area, there is a new quest that popped up that sends you into Gnomeregan, which has some excellent Leather/Mail/Cloth reward items (Tripprunner Leather pants I got from this quest lasted till I hit 57). RazorFin Downs is also good around Lvl 30 Located in Deep South of Barrens.

***Alternate Route - 25+ - IF, you have a good group/clan, start looking to Thousand Needles. There are quests in there have awesome rewards and great XP. I would only suggest these quests if you have a group. It also takes you into contested territory, which I don't suggest you start doing till much later if you are solo.

***A Quick 45k XP for 30+ - Shimmering Flats have alot of quick quests right in the same area. If you collect all the quests in that area and kill all the mobs it will take you to complete the quest, it will yield at LEAST 45k of XP. Also, you should travel South thru Shimmering Flats and discover Gadgetzan real quick and set it up as your home. Quick and easy to travel from Gadget to Ogrimmar for fast AH needs.

There is alot you miss out on doing what I illustrate here, Tarren Mill, and a bunch of other stuff. Just giving you an idea of "what" you can do by yourself (solo) without relying on others. I truely feel I was able to enjoy the game/quests after I hit 30, instead of dying alot in some instance and eventually hating them just to try to complete some quest that didn't give me anything I needed/wanted. I later after 30 starting to play catchup on the quests, and they were so easy and fast that I caught up in 1-2hours to where everybody else was in the quests.

    35-60

No matter how you slice it, grinding is the fastest way to level in WoW. Maybe not the most fun, but it is much faster than questing.

Now, I'd say the best time to start grinding wouldn't be right off - You can get to 35 very easily questing, but after that, it's more of a pain in the as.

There are various good places to grind, so there is some overlapping.

Unfortunately, this applies mostly to damage dealers of the melee variety. Mages and Warlocks may be able to use them, but I don't have as much experience with them.

Warning: Alot of these areas are densely packed with mobs, so you are likely to get adds when you first begin clearing. However, the denser they are, that means the more spawns in the shortest distance - Exactly what you want when grinding.

Levels might be off by the order of 1 or 2, as your grinding ability might be different than that of the classes I have played. I apologize if they are, but I'm fairly sure these spots are mostly accurate.

Grinding areas will only support one person. Any more, and it will be alot slower for EXP. If someone is at the spot you planned on using, try somewhere else. I've tried to provide a good spread of places to try at different levels, but if you can't find one, you might just have to try later
    ----------------------------
    Preparing

If you're a melee class, I cannot stress the fact that first aid and food are godsends, and will reduce your downtime greatly. Love them. They are VERY useful.

You might also want to spend some money on +stat potions that last for an hour, as well as +hp regen. You're going to mostly be grinding on mobs that have good drops, so you'll have more to spend.

    ----------------------------
    Grinding

    34-37
Venture Co. Meteorologists at Lake N. in Stranglethorn Vale
I love these guys. I mentioned them in the gold guide, and I really do love them. They have good drops, and they die fast. Hunters can sometimes even take two on at a time, as they like to stay at range and use their lightning bolt attack. Sic a pet on one, and take out the other yourself. They don't always stay at range, however, so your milage may vary.

    36-38
The Naga on the islands in Desolace have low armor, and there are casters in the mix. Be wary of the wandering sea giants, though. One will walk across the island every now and then, and they'll kill you if they sees you.

    37-39
The Murlocs by Grom'Gol in STV are excellent grinding. They have, as per usual, low defense, and take alot of damage. Some casters mixed in the fray as well.

    36-46
In the Badlands, there are ALOT of rock elementals. They range from about 37 to 42 or so, if I remember correctly. They're sort of close to the Horde base, so Alliance might be weary of the area. They die fast, and they have some pretty good vendor drops. Higher level ones spawn by the Ogres camp, and have a chance of spwaning Rumbler, a named rock elemental. There's also a few quests right by the lower ones, so some extra EXP is fun.

    40-43
The Scalding Whelps in the Badlands are fun to grind. They're basicly casters, low def and HP, high damage. They also have a chance of dropping a a Tiny Black Whelpling, which can go for 20-50 gold on some servers in the AH, and are pretty cool pets regardless.

    40-46
The Wastewander humans in Tanaris are great grinding for a large level range. They start off at level 40 and 41, and ramp up to 44 or so, and then you can move to the pirates, which range from 44-45 (Or is it 46?). Chests spawns are all over the place too, so you can get some phat lewt. My gold guide has more in depth information on their location.

    42-45
The Naga in Stranglethorn Vale are pretty easy to kill, though there aren't any caster mobs mixed in. I personally don't like this one, but it is viable.

    45-48
There are some more Naga on an island in Feralas, south of Feathermoon Stronghold or whatever. I've never been there personally, but I've heard good things about it. A named naga spawns at the top of one of the caves, 24 hour spawn.
(Originally was 44-46, but poster informed me their spawns are a bit higher leveled than I believed. Thanks thezeed)

    45-48
Also in Feralas, there are some Yeti in the Feral Scare Vale. The normal ones are about level 45, and they ramp up to level 48 or so. Pretty good grinding, but the range of movement is sorta large.

    46-48
The ghosts in Azshara are great. I love them. I can't stress how awesome they are. They drop insane mageweave and silver, and are absolutely excellent to kill. The Litchlings are casters, and die even faster than the Apprentices, which go down FAST. I absolutely love these. However, on my server, several 57+ gold farmers also camp them fairly actively

    47-49
I've heard good things about the Dunemaul ogres in Tanaris, though I don't have much experience with the area.

    47-49
I like elementals, and here are some more . In the Searing Gorge Cauldron, and a little bit North of it, there are plenty to grind.

    49-52
Deadwood Village in Felwood is decent grinding, and you can also use it to raise your Timbermaw faction. Not much I can say about it.

    52-54
The Ogres in the Burning Steppes are pretty good. Same thing as with other ogres.

    53-58
More ghosts! This time in Winterspring, on the frozen lake. I <3 these guys.

    53-58
Running around in the Plaguelands killing undead. Raising Argent Dawn faction is a pain, so you might want to go ahead and do slightly slower grinding at the gain of being able to raise your faction at the same time. It's also possible to go to 60 doing this, but it's mind numbingly boring... But for some, the faction is worth it. You cannot gain faction from killing monsters when you are level 60, so if you plan on grinding them for the faction, you may really want to do this until 60

    57-60
If you're a rogue, Blackrock Stronghold is the place to be. You will die a few times getting down a beat, but once you have the timing going well, you'll be dominating the area. Half the mobs there are casters, and the other half still have low armor compaired to most mobs of this level

As for my addition for fast lvlin is the genkis centaurs in desolace. There lvls are from 32-36, casters mixed in and they are pretty easy to kill. The best part tho is the sheer number of them and the rate at which they spawn. If your a miner there is like 7 mith nodes all around the grinding area as well.

I just wanted to add a few to this. 51-54, satyr's in Azshara are great. Drop copious amounts of felcloth (sells for 1g each on archimonde) as well as masses of rune cloth. Was hitting 24/k per hour as a warlock. 48-51, harpies in feralas are amazing. The aggro range is huge, however, they die so quickly its just ridiculous. 28-30k/hour here. I've gone back to questing now to 60, however, many people in my guild say that Azshara is great up til 60, grinding on the thunderhawks. I pretty much agree. They may be level 50-52 mobs, but they die in literally 10 seconds, and hit for next to nothing basically eliminating any and all downtime. They also drop an item which sells for 3g to npc, lots of greens and epics too. However, the gold farmers have moved in here, so its kinda hard to find mobs at times.

    QUOTE
Around the mid 40s I know I ground on the Ogres in Dunemaul Compound near Gadgetzan. There's 4 chest spawns in the area as well, which makes it a little better. There are a lot of them around with pretty fast respawn. High 40s-low 50s (maybe 48-52ish) I had fun on Sorrow Hill in Western Plaugelands beating on undeads. Unfortunately now this place is a little overcamped on my server, but it might not be yet on others. This also gets you Argent Dawn faction to get Enriched Manna Biscuits. Those things are a godsend as you get huge mana pools. FWIW around the mid-50s if folks want to get the purple tiger mount, they should get the faction quests with the Wintersaber trainers in Winterspring to gain faction with them. You can still get faction with them after 60 by repeating this quest, but the process is slow (a gnome friend has something on the order of 120 turnins right now) so you might as well grind some xp (and leather, lots and lots of leather) off of them. You will probably do a few Stratholme runs as well around these levels for loot and quests, and some of the mobs in there drop the bigger scourgestones for Argent Dawn faction, if you decide to do the above as opposed to grinding on undead. Hope this helps, good work
