Top 10 Pets in WoW

So I tried to put together a cool list of some of what I found to be the "best" pets in the game. The only requirement was that they had to be still available, and free (sorry mini tyrael). There were a good number of pets I had to leave off since there are about 377 current companions in the game, and that's not counting tamable pets... But I think I still managed to put together a good list of old and new pets alike.

So how bad do you think my list is? What are your favorite pets? On a scale from 10-10 how awesome is the Silvermoon Broom ?

That's a pretty bad list of top 10 pet. Ruby Droplet is very expensive on AH and very very very hard to farm. I had 3 toons parked on the lake at the beginning of the patch and never got the pet to drop for me after several weeks. Here is a list of some must have battle pets that can be easily obtained or farmed.

1. Scourged Whelping - found in Icecrown, you need to farm for Breed #6 H/H. 1800+hp and being an undead gets an extra shot or 2 at your opponent.

2. Flayer Youngling - found on the border between Terrokar Forrest and Hellifre Penninsula. Great against Dragonkin and Critters with extra protection from Deflection. Before the nerf to Deflection this was a kick ass pet to have and still is.

3. Arctic Hare - found all over Northrend where there is snow. You need to look for the S/S Breed 358 speed plus dodge, this is your go to pet against all those Unborn Val'kyr

4. Spirit Crab - found on the western shores of Ghostland. Look for the H/H Breed. 1888hp + 296 Power + Shell Shield plus being undead, this pet can last forever in a battle and Surge its opponent to death.

5. Any Snails. You need 3-4 snail pets on your team mostly to counter flying and elemental pets that have a CC ability. In fact I use 3 snails against Chi-Chi every week in the Celestial Tournament.

6. Tranquil Mechanical Yeti - this is my go to mechanical pet against beasts like the daily on Timeless Isle. I usually use it as a team with a pet that has Howl and try time Howl so your Yeti gets 2 attacks in with 100% extra damage,

It sounds like you're basing your list purely off of pet battles. This list is judging pets on a purely cosmetic basis.
