    Pally guid to tanking.

Hello this is my guide for becoming a better tank as a paladin. Some portions of this guide may be common sense and some are my strategies. I hope you like it.

    What you need:
This guide is made for level 70 protection paladins so I would recommend having a level 70 pally.
Some +defense gear and a shield.
    Most of your skills.

    Guide:
Tanking consists of holding the aggro from the mobs and keeping the aggro off of other players. To increase your threat (for a good guide on aggro refer to http://www.mmowned.com/forums/wow-gu...-to-aggro.html) use Righteous Fury if you have the talent points in Imp. RF you should have increased threat by 90% when the monster takes any holy damage. If you have another paladin in the group ask him to use Greater Blessing of Salvation on all the other group members and you should cast Greater Blessing of Kings on them. The blessing you should use on yourself are either Greater Blessing of Light, Sanctuary, or Kings the choice is yours. I usually pull with Avenger's Shield then activate Holy Shield (for more threat and for the damage), run up and cast Consecration then I focus on the main mob. When focused on the main mob I use Seal of Righteousness then I activate Avenging Wrath, all while still casting Consecration. If I ever OOM I switch seals to Seal of Wisdom and use judgement then I re-cast Seal of Wisdom. If any of the other players get aggro when we start I tell them to make a macro that says "I am Getting Aggro!!" So I can easily use Righteous Shield on them to get the aggro off.

This is all I can come up with right now, as I start tanking more I will add more to the guide.

    Thanks,
    Pimpin_N0ob

I've honestly never seen a Pally tank, and if I ever do, it'll either be that we can't get a warrior, or that the pally is a lvl 70 running me through BRD on my alt lol.

I wish my girlfriend didn't end in .JPG

Wow, I have seen many pally tanks but not many guilds need them on my server -_-...

@ Partytime: It may be unnecessary to you but to some of the new level 70 prot pallys this could give them some new tips on tanking, or if a pally re-specced prot.

If you play in a casual guild that just does heroics and kara for example, a pally tank is awesome.

    Re: Pally guid to tanking.

    Lol muppet.

Pallys can take instances. However they have a couple of problems - mana being one of the main ones. A warrior/bear can take loads of stam and def rating and be happy However a pally doing that leaves himself with a shite mana pool - which is what he needs for keeping aggro. Even with spiritual attunement, your mana won't regen fast enough. Whereas rage regens more than enough.
Pulling is another - although avenger's shield is good, it has been known to bounce onto a sapped/polyed target and muck up CC. Although saying that, why you don't have a hunter misdirect pulling is beyond me...

I have to more then agree with you. My pally has almost 9k health but then you look at his mana and it's like... wtf??
