Introduction
It's for patient people (sadly probably there won't be TL;DR version since it's everything or almost everything what I do know about gold making & this game). I'm doing this because I want to leave some legacy after myself in this game since probably due real life I will have to gradually drop & drop bigger parts in this game. Also I want to avoid jumping between threads like mad. There will be links to my sources - there is no need to assigning merit, will put my own contribution in this thread. There won't be also names covering due the fact everything what I'm using is strict legal and You as customers of this guide should be in possibility to check me as author. Also it's not for botting people (will cover it later reasons behind this). It will be divided for few parts. And the last thing knowledge should be free. That means that You can copy pasted everywhere You want but it has to be non profit - period!

Safety
First of all basics. 12 Steps to Protect your World of Warcraft Gold | Warcraft Gold blog - those are rules what I think are really minimum what most people should at least read.
Ad.2.
If anyone has a gold fish memory then probably like sometimes I do then maybe use other method. Having like for this example encrypted USB only for this purpose with key to this (let's call it 1st USB) 1st USB could be storaged on other - 2nd USB just for security measures. As far I remember some banks and other companies are using like 500-700+ digital char long primes. Let's be honest - there are I think 4 people in the world with literally elephant's memory (it was named with some medical name - don't remember which one) and probably they're not playing WoW).
Other way - typing over time like 20-30 chars long password will stay with time in subconscious.
Ad.3.
Life is difficult sometimes. I left my passwords to my brother just in case something happening to me like random stuffs (like hitting by a truck). Gold is worth something in these days (thanks Blizz for BMAH =)) and rising the price of gold.
Ad.4.
There are plenty of good protecting* software but nothing won't replace a brain. People are loosing their accounts because they're simply stupid. Example - CrackingForum - Cracking Downloads, Cracking Tutorials, Premium Accounts.
Ad.7.
One of the basics of basics - no matter how much You love anyone and so go on with the topic - can You trust that person with familiarity of IT stuffs ?
Ad.9.
If You cannot afford for real life auth then maybe virtual one - https://code.google.com/p/winauth/. Is open source project (it's for free). Another solution is what Blizz gave people - there are also free auths for mobile phones and so go on.
Ad.10.
Curse client is good source what people should know.
Ad.13.
Check few times things if You're doing something important like sending 10-50k to main for BMAH's reasons. Good solution is having addon Postal. If You will keep him up on every char you've got then it will auto suggest things. Let's say Your char is named "mrtrololo". After typing "mr" it should automatically suggest "mrtrololo".

My comment : Yeah it's profitable especially when people are getting more lazy with every expansion. It's also time consuming. Another good reason why to do it is that people with every expansion are more & more overwhelmed with knowledge about patterns, mats and so go on.

Enchants

My comment : It shows more or less what counts in MoP & previous contents but not everything I'd necessarily use like brainless bot. Cata weapon enchants - I'd avoid them for now. There are not many Cata twinks - at least not on my realm. Also with MoP shuffling enchanting mats is profitable as hell. To do that probably I'd suggest to go after mats in weekends & try luck in Wednesdays.

Profession Kits

My comment : Personally I never tried it. I mean to sell everything at once. I'm let's call it from 'old school' where customer counts. That means I always prefered to sell single mats instead of bucks (will speak about it later). Reason behind this is very simple. If guy let's say - will buy kit within 80% of mats he needs (because he started leveling his profession earlier) then those mats will land at AH which is an extra competition for me and it's not good.

Shuffling

My comment : Shuffling is in WoW since earliest stages of TBC. Back then was possible to get few hundreds - thousand per day. Now it's way more profitable. This part of market can give (depending from realms) from 10k to 30k per day. Everything has been covered in topic mentioned above.

Snatch

My comment : All three links above contain list of items that can or depending from person - should be on snatching list. Now since world was revamped in Cata I'd focus more on items pre WotLK like patterns & mats. Mats are important due the fact that patterns that you've obtained / learned back then - (in the past) are still craftable (like for example Naxx40 frost resist gear - mats are different story). For this example frozen runes' sets could be sold for hundreds thousands. I'd avoid putting on snatching list professions' mats, patterns from BT/SSC/TK, mounts & pets due the fact that people are still doing them (for example - for mounts, pets, glaives etc).
Will cover reasons behind this later on. One last thing about snatching - it's in my opinion best tool to check for transmog. In both cases - buying them from people who have no idea what they have & checking what's on transmog market. There is no reason to get into part of transmog's market where are like 20-30 heads from XYZ set.
Really good tool which is also free and well known is wowhead. Powerful I'd say if You know what You're looking for or other way - how to look for. Items - World of Warcraft is an example of filtering. Sadly you can get only 200 results so sometimes looking takes ages.

Entry items

My comment : It's kind of a little poor but shows You only the rule how Blizz makes things. Really worth to try it out. Items from even Vanilla can be sold up for 100g (not a rare craft but normal pattern).

Primals

My comment : If You really need to farm then probably it would be it. There are still CDs on those transmutes so prices are high because everyone is doing living steel's CD. Essences are needed for most of the twinks' / herilooms' enchants and at least on my realm - this market is almost dead. A friend of mine leveled on those mobs when he could (alts). Recently I've tested (after MoP & Cata) two spots. First was Silithus (near Thundefury's quest guy) and second was in Nagrand (Throne). What surprised me was that Nagrand's spot can drop primal airs (those from first spot) also but it has disadvantage. It's cross realm sadly but forced phasing by friend (from 'dead' realm) should solve this problem.

Events

My comment : There are too many events in year to write "how to" each one of them so it's simply a matter of choice but yeah - they're profitable especially those which one crosses real life events with WoW's events like Christmas. People don't have time to do something in the game.

Reputation mats

My comment : I never tried to sell it as one big bulk of items. Like I wrote previously - I do prefer to split items for smaller parts (easier to control & sell). Anyway items which are need for Hero of Shattrath, Insane in the Membrane achievement (and so go on) are selling well.

Enchanting mats

My comment : For TBC I'd avoid spending FIO=>FIB & leatherworking stuff since they're still valuable and people who are leveling their professions need them like mad. Also old raids (T4-T6) are good source to get them but I'd rather do them more for transmog than for DE mats. With WotLK's part from guide mentioned above I wouldn't agree. Every single material needed for it can be sold for like 10g/1+ (frostweave cloths maybe more). Solution of that is doing old raids like T7-T9 solo and DE loot (if You're enchanter of course) or camp them at AH and then do the shatter or find enchanter who would do it for You.

Glyphs

My comment : From my experience it's more like "Bold & beauty" with a little more dramha. Previously there was no learning system for glyphs which was good for making gold & bad for raiding but at least it didn't kill this market. Now it depends from realm population due the fact that everyone wants to have alts it can or cannot be profitable. Before entering this market I'd advise to check if there are any bankers who sell them on Your realm (for example with TUJ tool). Personally I made like 5-10k of them long time ago & still selling them slowly (long term profit I'd say).

Pets

My comment : The list of craftable pets is longer due the fact of pokeland (MoP) and depends from realms' population. I can say after some deals that it can be way above profitable but requires time. For this instance - I've won twice in a row DMF rabbit on two different realms. Took me some time but 'Hell Yeah' 120k+ for 10-15 mins of work. It also affects TCG loot ones.

Those mats are for old crafts which can be sold from time to time. Not many people are doing them in these days not mentioning about farming mats for them. Dreamcloths are for bags and not everyone can afford in these days himself for Royal satchel which costs around 5k each. Also worth considering are pre MoP enchants for legs which also sell from time to time but for rare quality I'd advice to check Your AH first since there could be competition for them but I didn't see for a long time any epic spellthreads which are the best for twinks.

Leatherworking
There is not much to deal here but still You should consider drums (of forgotten kings) and legs enchants.

Also if You'd be interested with lower profit then You could consider doing SWP trash runs (there are 2 bigger trash packs - everything before first boss and between twins & m'uru), entry items (like low level necks/rings of rare quality & for this example MoP rings/necks), mercurial adamantite (is needed to level JC or at least makes it easier) which is difficult to obtain due the fact that no one doesn't farm adamantite ore anymore & epic Wotlk gems since they're the best without ilvl requirements.

Ritual's pattern had like 1-3% drop from mobs in Grizzly Hills. Their spawn was more I'd say medium & low. Anyway I obtained my pattern after a hour but it's still RNG. Document is margin but still guaranteed profit every day (minor but still). RoF III is used to solo things. Not every class has every buff. For example warrior could buff with AP or STAM. Getting two buffs attracts it. Pets taught by trainer are common knowledge so there is no much to say. Somehow over the time people have forgotten about trading ink from trainers and it seems it will get only worse. I don't know what caused this - maybe a belief that only herbs are source of inks. Mysterious Fortune Cards beats everything in inscription - even DMF cards. It requires good or noticeable advertisement. Glyphs are good from time to time but You need to know what to exactly craft (it's not always the best choice - welcome to WoW majority) but I'd suggest to consider websites like:

Somehow VotS passed duping attention. Don't ask my why - I don't know. Long term sale. Titanium Bar & Titansteel Bar are needed for Wotlk's end crafts. People don't farm anymore titanium which makes it more valuable. Essence of Air could be considering due the realm's price. If it's higher than 500g & transmute master then it's way better than Living steel. Invisibility potions (both kind) are being used since MoP (challenge modes). Profitable as hell I'd say. Swiftness Potion is also worth attention since twinks don't have mounts (low level ones) & for example in PvP it could be used by druids as flag carriers (aka getting achievements on lower level alts) but I assume that it's common knowledge. Definitely old WotLK's gems (meta & epic ones) should be considered since they're the highest which don't require any ilvl. Giant growth could be also worth a time but don't try to sell it when DMF is around because it has same effect as DMF's potion. Arcanite bars are needed for legendary (thunderfury) & old rare crafts. Others mentioned above are visual changing effect things or needed for solo / pvp.

Engineering
Handful of Obsidium Bolts - Item - World of Warcraft

Bolts & Ethers are needed to level up in Cata branch so it could be worth some time. As previous very dependent from You realm. Other stuffs what could be consider are : chopper (long term profit but due the fact it has unique design people still want it), scopes (twinks/leveling/current content), mailbox (people are now more lazy than ever before).

Blacksmithing
Folded Obsidium - Item - World of Warcraft
Folded is required for BS leveling and due the fact that all Cata zones are CRZ now there is less obsidium per realm which makes it more profitable but still - if people do remember Deepholm was another Sholazar Basin from Wotlk. Yet in the past BS could also make keys but due shattering they became useless (sad but true).

Fishing, Cooking & Archeology
Crawling Claw - Item - World of Warcraft
Pet from archeology is Your aim due the fact it's still rare. Keystones can be easily flipped but due archeology changes in MoP it could be long term selling.
From fishing I think only worth mentioning things are old pets like TBC daily fishing or Crawdad. Other worthwhile mentioning pets are those which can be fished while doing Nat Pagle's rep.
Cooking can be flipped but I think that more profitable is MoP leveling & raiding due the facts people still do need it like "here & now".

Current content
There was no 'big opening' like within Firelands recently but still some items are selling well. To PvE or PvP people do need: potions, flasks, food (or tables), enchants (or enchanting mats), gems. Their amount is different due every realm's population but I always skip tanking ones because amount of tanks is mostly the lowest number on specific realm. I'd advise to pay attention especially when new parts of content (LFR/normal raids/PvP etc) are being opened.

World bosses
After Cata their amount was reduced but still it's profitable due the fact that their loot is BoE. Sadly Blizz & his brilliant ideas put them in CRZ so it's more difficult to find them but using forced phasing helps. What recently GM told me was kind of strange - they're in CRZ zones but You can loot only this one which is linked directly to Your realm which is not true - on my own eyes I saw someone looting WB from my realm.

Currency
Champion's Seal - Currency - World of Warcraft

Champion's Seals have one purpose - pets. Since BMAH has been introduced some pets are there but their prices are random (depends from people). Thanks to learning pets & mounts system they could be transfered to horde almost instantly.
Dalaran Jewelcrafter's Tokens are worth attention due the fact that gems from Wotlk are the highest which don't require any ilvl (so they're best for leveling & twinks). At this point I'd consider damage necklaces too.
Epicurean's Award is needed for patterns which are needed for achievements. Also Northern Spices is required in cooking leveling.
If someone is doing for his own goals Cata JC dailies then he needs gems which can also be profitable.
Doing Tol'Barad is only reasonable if pets (from it) on Your realms are worth the time spent on it.
Doing Dragon Soul bosses provides currencies (7 for "normal" bosses & 1 for Deathwing) which can be exchanged for gems (mostly) which as I previously mentioned can be profitable.
Honor points can be exchanged to justice points which are needed for epic Wotlk gems (220 each).

Splitting between alts
To avoid getting spam on mailbox (from AH) I've decided to split things what I'm selling on 3 parts : 1st alt - current content things,
2nd alt - patterns, transmog, volatile type of things needed while leveling professions,
3rd alt - glyphs & normal farming materials needed while leveling professions.
That kind of divide allows me to scan AH while posting things like from 3rd alt. From 2nd alt I don’t change the prices from batch list so if scan didn't finish then I can continue it. Last alt requires undercutting in some branches so I've got ready & fresh data from AH.

Maintenances
Avoiding any realms' maintenances makes life easier because when You post something at AH and server goes down for some amount of time then mailboxes go madness. It's probably because of stack overflow from server's side. If You'll do that then You'll end up with mixed stuffs from all 3 alts mentioned above. That kind of things are bad because it requires to change receiver every time Your bags will fill up. I think that sending 1 type of items to 1 alt for like 5 mins is much way better than doing it every minute or two. It gives You time to for example read/watch/do something else.

Hatred & love
With time every player takes some part of AH for himself. People who take with time bigger & bigger parts of this cake are called banks. Higher - there are (gold) goblins. Anyway - with time people do notice someone's name at AH while browsing it. If You'd become bigger part of AH like I did on my realm then people either will love or hate You. They're keep saying that they won't buy stuff from You and so go on. Maybe some of them won't but majority will just keep saying & nothing more. To don't loose customers I got my 2nd bank which gives mostly the same thing as 1st one but there are maybe 1-2 people who really know about him. If You value Your privacy I'd suggest to name Your bank way more differently than any of Your alts. He has to be under 10th level (Blizz doesn't support armory for 10th & lower chars), parked in wilderness (like Exodar) & unselect shared achievements option (more difficult to find out).

Gbank vs normal bank
Normal Gbank tab contains 14 x 7 slots (9

while normal bank 4 x 7 + 7 x bag size. If You'd consider using Your bank with profession's bag (32-36) then You can get 252-280 slots for 100g which is more than fair deal.

Cannon fodder
With popularity some people can avoid specific bank char. Solution is simply - just make two or more of them. First could be used as meat (with all advertisements and people's hate) & second could smuggle things to AH that You'd like to sell (can be the same from 1st bank adverts). The thing is to control in people's mind what is real & what's not. It's kind of creating the inception (more or less).

BMAH
Introduced in MoP gave players some new opportunities. With lowering interest of it's 'common' items - some gold can be earned. Since T9 content ended almost everyone stopped to farm seals (for pets & mounts) but thanks to BMAH You could snatch out opposite faction's pets for 1-2k & resell them.

Advertising

Some things have changed since then but some did not. There wasn't any big patch recently bringing things that people wouldn't care at all. Because of that I stack with my old macros but I remember one thing about advertising. Boring adverts won't affect on people but if You'd do many typos then people will tell You to correct it or talk about it on the trade (for instance) and here comes the avoiding of ignore button. If some people would have my bank char on ignore (so they can't see my adverts) then they don't have a reason to have on ignore people who talk about me in public.

If You can't find buyer for raw mats
There is a simple ways to deal with it:
* post info that You'd have X,Y,Z mats (to sell) on realm's forum - not everyone is using TUJ tool
* craftable transmog gear / consumables (like potions)
* wait till patch (like for instance - 5.4 & engineering)

Darkmoon faire
There were 2 types of DMF - 1.0 & 2.0. The second one is what we know today but since 1.0 is history some gold can be made on it. Back then people could obtain specific boxes from DMF's NPCs which contained many interesting things (like patterns). Now when they're no longer available to obtain or they're on ~1% drop rate from bosses (like Nefarian) some gold can be made. With DMF 2.0 some things have changed. Rabbit can be easily done hundreds of times each month via forced phasing. It's long term sale but it's not the most efficient way of gold making there. Books & transmog gear are the keys to DMF's gold. If You've got any alt then I'd suggest to send him full package of them each month. It takes like few seconds to do their quest & with several repetitions it gave me on each of my alt like 5-6 parts of X transmog gear which I'm selling 3,000g+/each. It costs max 1,000g (remember to don't buy it at first day when prices are reaching the roof) to get all needed books each month so it's kind of free gold.

Legendary

Some things have changed since I've posted it. Overall people got more lazy than before so some gold can be made on that. There are few legendary items available:
* TF - requires bars
* Sulfuras - mostly requires DIB & Arcanite Bars
* Glaives/Thori'dal/Val'anyr/Tarecgosa/Daggers- boosts can be sold for twinks (especially since since it takes more time to run through them than actual fighting)
* Shadowmourne - like previously but also Primordial Saronite x 25 (BoE) is required
* Gems - within 5.4 everyone will need to replace his head item (that contains legendary gem which requires 5 Primal Diamonds)

General
I wanted to avoid splitting some things into sections because I regard them simple as tips.
* Gatherer - if You really want to play with that then double it because otherwise it's a loss of time
* Don't avoid Troove because there is no loot anymore there - I'm getting around 1,000g per char for 5 mins of work there (ps )
* Many people seems to forget that Frozen Orbs can be traded to any eternals via vendor in Dalaran
* Wowhead's comments are really nice source of info but I'd rather take them with humility
* Always use brain than patterns - it allows You to almost ignore bots' actions

Stockpile
It's good to start from somewhere but it's getting boring easily. The best part of this branch is that people are lazy as hell but flaw - see what Blizz did to Ghost Iron Bars leveling. Anyway - good solution is to plan first. I've divided professions between alts due their size (mostly it was around 50 stacks per item).

A question about processing my stockpile.
5.4 Stockpile

So 5.4 is what I think most gold makers have been waiting for. Within more likely will come VR (or after - Blizz didn't make a statement in that yet). Question is - what realms will be merged. Well Blizz said few things about it & seems that GM confirms it also (link below). I think the most fair would be to merge realms to balance - but then goes the question - how many & how much realms merge into single one. Some variables of equation are known & some are still speculation. Anyway back to the topic - stockpile. As with every patch some preparation can be made before so I'd consider:
* inks (glyphs from 5.4)
* trillium/hides/bolts/GIO/GIB (daily discoveries & reagents)
* consumables (flasks/pots/shoulders & legs enchants)
* raw gems, serpent's eye, living steels, primal diamonds (5 are required to get new legendary meta gem), enchanting mats
I'd rather avoid sha crystals (new content means a lot of new DE - besides craftable gear) & too much food (there will be new one & it all depends how lazy people are in those days). If You're on really dead realm then I'd consider doing some transmogs (for sure You'd be merged with something).

Didn't want to make a new topic only for that. I've made a little update since I've migrated to TSM now. I've looked/checked on wowhead/forums for items which:
* are woth at least 500g +-10% (in terms of sets - price of entire set),
* are rare (you cannot buy them from vendors or craft them via vendor learning),
* were/are available via NPCs which are gone or missing after Cata,
* were/are useable/suitable for more than 1 simple thing (for instance mog & leveling).
So enjoy around 1400 item list.

Hi there again.
