Easy Hjyal summit epic gems farming

I only got to try this once before the servers went down today, so i will have to wait to confirm and or make a video but I did want to see if anyone had posted this before or experienced the same thing. Although this might be working as intended we all know blizzard hates you farming an instances. "You have entered to many instances recently" anyone?

Go to the Hyjal Summit raid
Skip everything and mine gems from surrounding areas
Talk to proudmoore and start phase
Walk out of Hyjal
Log out for 15 mins for "soft reset"
(If you have an alt that can mine i suggest you log him and follow the above steps)
Log back in
Walk back in
Profit

the soft reset should have hit and you should see gems spawning again, also do to the fact that your doing it in 15 min resets you will
never get the faming buff. Doing this on multiple alts can be quite profitable. When the servers come back up ill try this again to confirm.

This is not an exploit workign as intended, because all you are doing is zone in and run to the mines then logout. ive done this since tbc since you can just start in the ally camp and run back up to thral and mine 3-4 or more nodes n then go out reset instances n go in

OK, i see your point however what you are talking about is a world zone. What I am referring to is a raid which have different (and more strict) lockout policies. I suppose ultimately whats being exploited here is blizzards raid soft reset combined with the fact that raid nodes dont respawn and you are supposed to do a raid once.

This is surely no different to farming trash in a raid environment, by not killing a boss and resetting?

This is really more of a guide as I'm pretty sure the nodes are a part of the Hyjal raid like the mobs are

I'd be curious to hear how much gold you are making from this in relation to time and effort, last time I checked these gems sold for next to nothing.

Even the L60 TBC gear with sockets is able to take WOTLK epic gems, so it seems a bit silly to me that anyone would use TBC ones.

Time / Effort = 15 Min sprints

Gains = 3 - 5 epic gems per node (Bountiful Bags) x 10 - 15 nodes, so assuming the lower end of the
scale, 30 gems per 15 mins.

Sales = 50 - 60g a gem. ( this is obviously server and faction dependent)

Min potential gain: 1,500g every 15 mins
