One for the Rogues: Pickpocket location with 1.5k gold/hour

Best of all, you barely have to move.

I clocked in at about 1.5k gp an hour while watching TV, etc..


What you'll be doing is sitting in the middle of a camp that respawns every 10 seconds or so, and this camp moves past you (non aggressive, even though they show up as red) allowing you to stand in the middle of them and pick pocket 4-5 mobs every 10-15 seconds.

The location:
Townlong Steppes, right above the Gao-Ran Battlegrounds on the bottom right corner of the map.
Once you're there, you will see a huge tree. If you look closely, you will see a bunch of fire animation, and if you come by animation, they will actually be stealthed mobs.
These mobs are: Krik'thik Scentlayers. They all spawn at certain points within very close proximity of each other, and all head towards one direction. They all align together at one point, and are literally stacking on top of each other. This is where you will stand.

How it's done with minimal effort:
You want to line yourself up with the oncoming traffic of mobs pass right through you. If you follow their route going N/NE, you will see where they actually spawn, so you want to get to a comfortable spot where they all merge down a single, small path, a bit down away from where they actually spawn.
This is where you will stand and use the following macro:

/cast [@mouseover,exists] Pick Pocket

Binding this macro to your mouse will make it possible to just use one hand to do everything.


Other things that help (a lot):
Glyph of Pick Pocket
Glyph of Lock Pick


Each pick pocket contains 10s-1g+, and the following:
Roughly a 10%-20% chance to get a junk item that sells for 1g-5g
About a 5%-10% chance to get a lock box, which may contain:
5g-30g, lvl 85. healing potion, rare (blue) gems, epic rogue weapons.

I have spent a total of about 5 hours on this throughout a week or so, and I have gotten about 8k gold, close to 100 of the lvl 85. healing pots, and a Krol Scimitar (Krol Scimitar - Item - World of Warcraft)

Just checked and I highly doubt you can push 1.5k/h without getting epic drop.
Anyway still looks decent for some semi afk.
For me best way is to stand under some rock bridge while looking at tree with red leafs.

in combination with a macro for my sidewinder x4 that's only spamming this key
With a little positioning at the beginning I was up to ~800g/hour doing nothing at all. +Rape for you.
