Darkassassin's 29 Twink Hunter guide!

Okay, I have rolled 3 Hunters, one being my main which is 70, one to 30(Old 29 Twink) and one to 19 just recently.

This is an Alliance guide, but the gear is the same, except you can't get one of the weapons.

In this guide I will only explain Armor, Weapons, Enchants, and Talent Specs. Okay, on to the armor, the enchants will be in brackets.


Head - Pathfinder Hat of the Monkey/Eagle ( Try for the 9/9 ones - Auction House) [100 HP/8 AGI]

Neck - Sentinel's Medallion (WSG Reward, Level 28 version)

Shoulder - Mantle of Thieves (Auction House)

Back - Parachute Cloak (This requires that you have 225 Engineering) [12 Agility]

Chest - Raptor Hunter Tunic (You get this from doing the Raptor Mastery quest in Stranglethorn Vale, I also suggest you do the others as well as to get the Gun or bow) [150 HP or +6 Stats to chest]

Wrist - Barbaric Bracers (Auction House) [+9 Stamina]

Hands - Razzeric's Racing Grips (Obtained in Shimmering Flats at the Mirage Raceway) [15 Agility or 26 Attack Power]

Waist - Highlander's Padded Girdle (AB Reward, I think it is 20 marks and 200 or so honor pts.)

Legs - Troll's Bane Leggings/Petrolspill Leggings (Auction House) [Nethercleft Leg Armor/Nethercobra Leg Armor]

Feet - Highlander's Padded Greaves (Also an AB reward for the same price as the AB belt) [+7 Stamina]

Ring 1 - Protector's Band (WSG Reward, level 28 version)

Ring 2 - Heavy Silver Ring of the Monkey (Auction House)

Trinket 1 - Insignia of the Alliance ( Cost 2800 honor points, this is a must have)

Trinket 2 - Arena Grand Master (Obtained from obtaining 12 Arena Masters from the chest in The Great Arena)

Okay there is the gear, now on to the weapons...

Weapon - Archeus (Obtained from a quest in Duskwood, you have to find a gravestone, then take the quest and go to Darkshire, its alot of running and you have to kill a 35 elite so bring a friend.) [Savagery]

Weapon - The Butcher (Auction House) [+15 Agility]

Weapon - Sentinel's Blade (WSG Reward, Level 28 version) [+15 agility]

Weapon - Master Hunter's Rifle (Obtained from doing all of the Mastery quests in Stranglethorn Vale) [+7 Damage Scope]

There's all of the weapons =)

Okay on to the talent specs!

0/20/0 - Full Marksmanship build, expect high damage!

5 in Improved Concussive Shot
5 in Lethal Shots
2 in Go For the Throat
2 in Rapid Killing
1 in Aimed Shot
5 in Mortal Shots

0/11/9 - Survival/Marks Build, more or less to go toe to toe with warriors or rogues when they have you slowed down and your trinket is on cooldown, but still with some good damage with marks.

Survival
2 in Savage Strikes
3 in Hawk Eye
2 in Improved Wing Clip
2 in Entrapment

For a pet I suggest either a Boar from RFK or the highest level cat/ravager you can find.

Most of those 'AH' items are drops / Made ( i.e. Bracers, cloak, weapons )

Okay, Neinteen, you find the link where I copied this from and you'll have one over me, but I assure, I did this all from scratch from my old 29 Twink hunter, his name is Tekae on the server Lothar, in the Ruin battlegroup.

Just because I did a 29 hunter guide after you did, gives you no reason to be a douchebag and bitch and moan about it.

However, you could just get over it and accept that my guide is clearly better on the aspect of gear, enchants, and talent specs. =)

the chest piece counts as above a lvl 35 item i think. Thus +150hp is possible.

Firstoff, this guide (aside from talents and lack or tips) has a way better gear selection than Neinteens. This is the gear you need to get, no matter what you plan on doing as a hunter in the 29 bracket. Second off, you CAN put level 35+ chants on items usable at 29... But only on ones that have an ITEM LEVEL of 35+. Use thottbot.com or the mod Auctioneer to see what an Items level is (Not the level it is usable at). Now on the whole thing about specs... and spec besides survival at 29 and you are just gimping yourself, it is possible to play and hybrid, any spec, hell you don't even need talents, but with the limited choices at 29, survival is the best. I am the current guild leader of one of the biggest 29 twink guilds that exists in my battle group (Bloodlust). I have had my twink for a very long time and have played with many many people who all have thier own style, and I have seen which works best.

we have almost the same items... and the differences are an arguement of stam / int / agi.

And i used mine for arena as well as BG.

I personally prefer +24 dodge rating over some stats and a polymorph dispeller. Hell the bubble will give you time to recover from whatever follows it.

As for rings, you can go for stats, or +dodge again or better stats than the PvP ones... :smooch:

depends on how you play. and with over 10k HKs in a few months, i'd say mine worked well. I stand by my guide, it's helpfulnes, and it's authenticity.

i was acutaly thinking about making a hunter twink to play on untill the xpac came out.

The trinket is not a "Polymorph Dispeller" it gets rid of every single slowing/fear/sap/stun, it can get you out of anything that keeps an opponent close to you, if you think thats useless, I don't even know what to say. Best trinks are the "PvP trinket" (not the WSG or AB one) + the arena trinket. As for dodge... if you were a rogue its a must have, if your a hunter you should not be getting hit at all period. Your agility will give you enough dodge as it is plus it will give you armor/ap/RAP/dodge/crit.

it only un-fears / un-polymorphs you if i recall.

Neither of which are a big deal. And Seeing as how 2v2 arenas often only have 2 people to hit, then yeah, i think i would need dodge.
