Connect to wow through a proxy server

We all know that we now have to merge our account to battle.net this means that people who use to play wow with a proxy have problems, however I came up with a solution, below is a link to a guide I've made it is an easy step by step guide that most people should be able to figure out. It works for me and I am pretty sure this will work for you as well.

Edit: Please give feedback, so that people can see that this might work for them. As for now people can only see it worked for me.

At my school, they have a firewall which prevents anyone to connect to things, such as world of warcraft. Using a proxy connection with a program like "Your Freedom" will go around that firewall and make you able to connect to the game. Most public places such as school and universities has such firewalls to prevent their students from playing and other things.

i use proxy server to decrease my latency in wow.. it's not hiding :P

By doing this dont you give your Account name + Passwort to a total stranger who can read the whole traffic which is going about his server??? So this seems totally bullcrap for me...

using a proxy will increase your latency not decrease it....

All the trafic is encrypted.



It's not something new and you can easily manage your own 100% free alternative using a remote server with ssh at home, at somebody's else home, etc. in minutes.
And then connect to it through any firewall at work or school and play or do anything you want.

bad idea. bypassing the firewall will result in suspension and loss of internet and computer privileges. should prob read your student handbook if you have one

Why these Guides always land here ? When you use the Proxy Server from the Thread starter you will give him your WoW Accname and Password (He Can read through the traffic and see your ACC / PW )... so basicly its a scam...

Use Proxifier to connect through a Proxy... (doesn't mean your Account couldn't be scammed obviously)
