How to get 1kk from nothing

This is more "readable" version of this (Few tips of AH) with little updates.

Note: this is long story "how to" since it's based on 7 years experience =P.

1. Gamestyle.
Depending on your style of playing (it can be either hardcore raider, normal, ah etc) you have to adjust it to your:
(a) server situation
(b) time and will to use the brain (once doesn't hurt but brings tons of gold later)
(c) addons - more addons are better but not too much

Ad 1.A.
It's there ! And it's for free.Here is something what saves many thousands people a lot of time. With this app (and also with forum) you can find anything you need or want to get some gold or thousands for sale etc.
Waste of mine and yours time is to explain what is there. Think about economic aspect of this game and it's there.
Anyhow different realms act differently so you must remember that for example from my experience there are differences but small. Mostly it's AH's materials capacity per day.

Ad 1.B.Time
There are two addons imho worth any attention - auctioneer or TSM. I always used the 1st one because as far I know TSM violences the ELUA - there is an option which allows you to post for example 2500 auctions without any need of confirmation and there are stories around web where someone posted something by mistake and lost his gold. Anyhow it's more dependent from your own preferences.

Ad 1.B.Will
It depends from you what you want "jump on". It means on which part of the market you want consume - I never play in harass etc but yeah, it's working from time to time.
I will describe things what always brought me nice profits based on auctioneer and other addons and my knowledge.

Why auctioneer ?
Well I can scan anything what I want, choose what to filter, imba appraiser module with batch option, plenty of automatic filters which help you to find anything only with mouse =), profiles and much more…
Bind it to any key (I do have it on "1" for example) and you won't need to worry with batch posting about "confirmation" anymore.

Another addons ?
Good (imho) addons and basic of basics are : MySale, Postal, Prat and some to mod basic view of profession's windows.
MySale helps a lot with tracking items which you have sold which is nice info to have just for getting mails from your mailbox.
Postal - after day of posting items at AH a lot won't sell and it will take some time to get them back. Install it, open your mailbox and go for coffee =). It will get from mailbox till X number of free spots in your bags. So for example if you're selling glyphs then with min. 22 bags it can contain like 200-300 glyphs and with 50 mails/minute it will give you 6 mins to do what you want to do.
Prat helps with filtering the chat and maybe something worth attention.
If you don't have crafters with patterns then I advise you to install anything to change view of professions' tabs like for example LilSparky's Workshop with extensions.

How to manage thousands of items without problems ?
I divide items (all) in two parts - those who require some attention every day and those who don't require it. So let's go to basics. If you sell let's say normal items for transmog then price is constant, same for patterns glyphs and so go on.
Now what can change (those items who require attention) are gems, volatiles, pets, mounts etc - something what people need for playing like for example enchants, gems, mats and so go on.
Also what I do is I'm sending those two "delivers" to 2 different characters and then resend 1st, post, resend 2nd post. It makes this system very easy to embrace.

Is it worth to farm items ?
Depends from server situation. Frequently I just loved stockpiling items. It doesn't matter is it in middle of any event etc. It depends only from how much gold you can put in. For example if you would buyout for few weeks for this example hypnotic dust then you could sell it like I do (for 3-4g/1 atm).

2. The competition.
I never gave any attention on them. If you post like I did in the past (up to 10k auctions) then atleast 30% will sell per day but but :P….
If you combine something forgotten (about this later) and you will notice that market in this specific area was dead for few weeks and by somehow miracle it rise from dead exactly when you rezzed it then it means that you've got a tail on your back but you don’t need to worry about it.
There were wars at AH with my participation which I always have won. Just you need to think few steps ahead. Like if you're being undercutting for some time then you can for example visit site which I mentioned before (stormspire.net => TUJ) and get a notice what XYZ person sells. Go on his market and nuke it. Personally I call it "let him bleed out". Other tactics could be for example buying mats from AH and farming them so you could undercut him and later on rise the price up and so go on - your imagination is your only limit…

3. MoP.
MoP will hit in this year so you could make some preparation which always give you some profit… but what to stock ?
* Ego.
From around half year and more I'm watching what people cares the most in games and the answer is so simply - how others see them. So let's start.
- Any transmog which is worth any attention
- Consumamble
- Mats to level up any profs (later about it)
- Changing look items (later about it)
- Mounts and especially pets for MoP
- Patterns - there are always collectors

4. Something what some people hate some love - the bots.
Like on each realm they are bots. Bots that can make you rich or poor depends from how you could look for it. If you could "bail out" them for 2-4 weeks and then "report them" and resell it with profit then it's good for you . "How to" ? Let's think... how the **** 1-2 guys can have like 200-300 stacks of few types ores or herbs ? 24/7 farming...sure thing
I mentioned before that from time to time there is working dupe method. It always was, is and will be and you can earn something on it. One and only condition is "bail out" from dupper for this example gems (like 500 epic red ones) and fast resell it (with cuts).

5. IF you like farming then…
… you can do run mounts with rolls or just simply ninja it and resell it (thanks to blizz) for some nice gold
…some rare mats like for old legendary weapons but they sell low but xD ! they do require high amount of it so it could be worth a time (depends from your sever)
…gold farming - I stopped gearing at around T13 LFR so my gear atm is poor if not worse than that but as warrior tank (other classes have better situations, others worse) I managed to solo things like
* T5 - SSC/TK
* T6 - MH/SWP/BT
* T7 - 10man, almost same gold and less effort =)
* T8 - VR works, thank you blizz =), so it's also free gold
But warrior it's not the best class for soling. I counted once that you can (as tank) solo around 20,000 gold per week in pure gold only by soling instances.

6. Tips.
What do I sell ?
Anything and nothing what I can make gold on it. Cata professions require only 75 and it's so easy in those days to get via afking, ekhm watching movies and "playing" in for example in AV.

Can one person control the server ?
If full job time on few servers then yes but with time it's getting boring. You can always find one or more people to do it with you with splitting market on pieces which saves time.

Can AH be "bailed out" ?
Yes but where is point in that.

What to do with mass items ?
So either or You'd like to slow sell them and keep some for MoP (pandas are the new ones here and wotlk/cata FoS'es for 1st 80 and 85 and 90 will be there) for leveling.

How much time does it take in day ?
Depends from how many auctions you're gonna play. For me with my around 2-2,5k every day it takes around 2h top and profits in normal days are around 5-25k, in patch days they're huge =).

How much space I used ?
In beginnings 1 guildbank with 6 slots, then 2 and 3 with 3 x 7 spec bags in alt's banks like mining, herbs etc. Now 2 full GB.

6. The AH thing.
Resets are in wednesdays. Most people are raiding then and most people need mats after raids. Think about it but it's very server dependent.
Advertisement is the key . Many (new) players don't know about XYZ item as it was designed for way different things thantit suppose to so You could earn on it . For example one of ideas would be a macro to trade (remember to not spam - people would ignore you asap :P) with linked XYZ items and some encourage text.
If you want be at least in some part anonymous type of person - don't do make char bank from char on 10th lvl+ since armory doesn't show players lower than 10 levels and this information also hides from others information like for example - "how much gold can he have ?".

7. On what exactly and how I'm making gold ?
First of all depends what your strategy will be. Don't want to split everything in another few pages/walls of text so big story in short time =).
Here is list of each mats which I noticed that were selling well on my realm. Don't bother numbers there. I putted them only because they're meaning how much I needed to get to be "ready".

Like I said before advertisement is key. Without it probably I wouldn't hit even half of what I have now. So let's start…
Bind "1" with /click AuctioneerPostPromptYes
Leave "2" blank instead of accidently pressing buttons.
Bind "x-y" with macros with text and item linked into game on trade channel (guides "how to" link item in macro can be found all over the web).
