Hello everyone!
I've been a long time lurker here, and a while back I finally made an account! I've also decided it's about time to do something useful, so I'll be explaining to you how I make gold (quite large amounts) off of Trading Card Game loot items. It's quite simple, and you should be seeing a very nice increase in your gold within a week or two of using this method.
At first, you're going to need gold to start out with, to buy your first TCG item. I recommend having 50,000+ gold to start off, although depending on your servers TCG item economy, you made need slightly more, or slightly less. You can earn this in various ways, you can save up and do dailies, or work through your professions to earn this. I earned mine, however, by buying a TCG item (with actual money in real life, if you're looking to use this method and buy an item to start yourself off, I suggest checking out WoW TCG Loot, as they are probably the most well-organized TCG site.) that I knew someone needed. I had about 20,000 gold already, and this item sold for 40,000 gold. (TIP: If you want to find out who needs certain TCG items on your server, try checking your servers forums on the WoW website, often times there will be a TCG thread there).
This brought me to a total of around 60,000 gold, give or take a few thousand. With this I advertised in trade chat for a while, offering to buy what I knew were two very low-priced (in terms of real money) items. I used about 65,000 gold to purchase a Swift Shorestrider, which usually sells for around 120,000 gold (on my server). After a few days of advertising this item, I ended up selling it for about 105,000 gold. That nets me a total profit of exactly 40,000 gold, for sitting in Stormwind, advertising my wares in trade chat.
From there I did roughly the same thing, but with a higher priced item. I was able to buy an X-51 Nether Rocket (on my server, a 190,000 gold item on average) for 100,000 gold. I resold this at 205,000 gold, and more than doubled what I invested.
It's a fairly basic gold-making strategy of buy low and sell high, but you would be amazed at how well it works. Over the course of 2 and a half months I was able to bring in approximately 2.5 million gold, from only advertising while I was sitting in Stormwind, and not out farming something. I realize this won't work for everyone, as you have to have proper server economy, and generally a high population server, for this to be effective. If you practice this method properly, however, you can end up profiting greatly from it.
Another tip, if you are unsure if someone is a legitimate seller, then shy away from buying items that are only available in code form (meaning BoP TCG pets, and miscellaneous items that are BoP). Only trust legitimate sellers there, and even then, always be wary. I hope you all enjoy working in TCG item flipping, and make a great profit from it!
