Exploiting Guide

I decided to put pen to paper and write a few things down about things I've learned in Video Games. I've had quite a bit of experience making games, including getting into the technical aspects of side scrollers, 2.5D games, 3D single players and 3D MMOs. After a while, I was able to pick out bad programming (and design) practises, and time and time again, they turned out to be very beneficial to players - if they knew they existed (and I wasn't around to fix them).

Some IRL friends convinced me (I don't know how) to include their work, and someone passed some things under the table to include Shortys 'guide' as well. The only thing I've written though is the initial MMO non-specific work, because I think that work should be free. Everyone else wanted it to be paid only guides, but I don't believe in that - the internet was made for freedom of information, and that's what this is about; information everyone should have.

I've read the whole 3 .txt and it was totally awsome. I didn't read much in english (cuz i'm german) but this texts were so captivating, i've never read such a insightful text. Especially the part with your tactics to exploit games and RAoV's ways. Thanks for sharing this with us all

I would assume RAoVs ways would be 'shortys' addition (which I haven't really browsed myself). Besides that, its my experiences and another professionals insight into game mechanics. That's not really RAoV anything, that's just Hp94 things.

Also, I'm considering taking this post and moving it somewhere else, there's just no real 'General' for the site (besides maybe shared?). Maybe it will get more attention there, because yes, this guide is free to anyone who has a computer, really.

Guide 2.0 will come out when there is some huge update to the guide, I'm thinking when it hits around 100 pages of meaningful content it would justify bumping it up to another number.
