4.1 ZA Voodoo Skull Farming [Hunter Guide]

Background:

The Voodoo Skull (Voodoo Skull - Item - World of Warcraft) is a fun toy. If you have a friendly player targeted and you right-click on the item in your backpack, you will throw the skull at the other player and into their bags. This is a fun way to spend time waiting in Stormwind or waiting for AFK'ers in raids; throw some skulls around and start having skull-throwing fights with your guildies. If that doesn't appeal to you, you can always auction them off for a decent amount of gold.

Where Do I Get It?

The item is looted from a certain pack in ZA, which are throwing the skull around. When you pull the group, one of the mobs will throw the skull at you, into your bags.

Generally, groups will receive one skull per run, unless they wipe on the trash pack. However, with this guide, you (a hunter or rogue) will be able to farm this pack continuously, getting tons of Voodoo Skulls in the process.

If you don't like reading, here's a video of me farming a few skulls. I only get a few in the video, but I've been farming since I started filming and now have around 30 skulls in my inventory!

The video isn't perfect but it should give you all the information you need.

EXTRA TIPS FOR THE LITERATE:

1. After the gongs, you will get aggro from the mobs running up the stairs, even through Camouflage. This is normal; just disengage down the stairs (or run like hell) and feign death when you're in a safe spot. If only the small adds at the bottom of the stairs aggro onto you (and not the stronger mobs at the top), just misdirect them onto your pet and kill them; they only have something like 22k health. If you come back up and they chase you again, run away, pop Readiness and feign death again.
   
2. The first group that Narolakk tells to attack you will also auto-aggro (at least for me). Again, feign death is your friend here.
   
3. When you pull the group (I like to use MS so that they're all pulled quickly), do not feign death until you have gotten knocked back by the skull. However, when you are knocked back, you can immediately feign death.
   
4. Sometimes, you will receive two skulls (one immediately and one a few seconds later). This will mean your next pull will not give you a Voodoo Skull; the one after that, however, will. This generally happens if you remain in Feign Death for a while after you drop aggro.
   
5. I like to save Readiness for bad situations--maybe I dropped feign death too early, or I got knocked back into another group. Just pop Readiness and feign death again, or use Camouflage.
   
6. The corner behind me in the video is a safe spot to stand, even without Camouflage. If you use this spot, you probably won't even need to use Camouflage at this point.
