    Recycling Heirlooms

Edit: People are being less understand than usual. Rather irritating that people are so.. excuse me, dumb.

The point is that you can gain heirloom experience if you don't have the heirlooms for your class/spec.

I honestly don't expect nor want any rep for this thread, but I just thought I'd share it because, well, it's rather incredibly useful.

I had a 70 shaman twink for about a year, and just recently started leveling him.

Currently questing in Dragonblight, an idea struck me. The majority of experience earned comes from quests, so it would be easy enough to, well, recycle heirlooms.

So I sent all my rogue's experience increasing heirlooms to my shaman, and made a couple of macros.

    Heirloom gear:

    Code:
    /equip Stained Shadowcraft Cap
    /equip Exceptional Stormshroud Shoulders
/equip Inherited Cape of the Black Baron
    /equip Stained Shadowcraft Tunic
    Regular gear:

    Code:
    /equip Brutal Gladiator's Mail Helm
    /equip Sergeant's Reinforced Cape
    /equip Brutal Gladiator's Mail Spaulders
    /equip Brutal Gladiator's Mail Armor
So whenever you visit a quest hub, complete them all, and are about to turn them in, press the heirloom macro button, and receive tons of bonus experience for the quests. After that, press the regular macro button.

Getting 22k experience per quest, I brought it up to 37k.

Why not keep them on all the time so you get extra experience from mobs to?

That is the whole point of heirlooms but this is in a situation where you so not want to buy all new heirlooms that fit your class.

Well yeah it's sort of common sense. But now it's really easy to farm JP. I bought myself all the Heilroom "sets" (Cloth, Leather, Mail and Plate).

Anyway good tip for the ones who didn't think of this.

The BoA Heirloom gear has a passive bonus to increase experience gained from killing mobs and turning in quests.

So if you don't want to lose your Armor Specialization or whatever, you can still DO THE QUESTS in your regular gear, just equip the Bind-on-Account gear before you turn them in so you get that extra... 40% or something

This is a nice guide for people who don't have heirlooms for a class/spec they are leveling. Unless of course you guys saying it's useless think using leather agi gear on a mage is good.

Never thought of this! Good idea. +rep

Meh the equipment manager is neater, and easier to use incase you replace a piece, and what someone was saying here replacing a few heirlooms with gear you can use doesn't really help _that_ much anyway... 1 or 2 seconds longer per mob but more xp every kill.

Why the hell is everyone flaming? It's a valid guide and it's useful because people don't think to recycle heirlooms, I have a 85 mage will full cloth heirlooms and i'm currently leveling another rogue, hell I don't want my rogue to be waltzing around in cloth so i've been using the equipment manager to do exactly what Cheat'rs been saying. It's a valid guide and it's really useful if you want to keep the experience gain and have gear that actually benefits you. It takes seconds to switch from your gear to heirlooms using the equipment manager, turn in quests and switch back.

+Rep to Cheat'r and reported the flamers for cleanup.

Let me put this in layman's terms for those who can't be arsed reading and/or too stupid to understand.

    You are warrior.
    You have cloth heirlooms.
    Cloth on warrior is bad.
Swap for handing in quests = lots more exp!
    Swap back.
    Hurrr a durr?
