I agree with Richie311 on this point:


Just judging by the whole way Blizzard is approaching Cataclysm, we're far more likely to see a situation similar to TBC where epic gems are only attainable from instances or in exchange for justice/valor/honor/conquest points.

Obviously given enough gold, no amount of speculative buying is unwarranted. But in my opinion it is very likely that this particular investment will bear no fruit.

depending how much ore/tokens you hoard you could make quite a lot on day 1/2 but the price on gems will crash pretty fast.

Should we also save as many Illustrious Jewelcrafter's Tokens as we can for when the epic recipes for epic gems will be released or will they have any different currency to prevent from doing this? I've saved like 15 so far.
