How to make up to 17k a day with fishing
Here's my first contribution of the year.
Here i'll show you how to make up to 17k gold a day with fishing. This guide 100% works, I showed my friend irl how to do it and he's already making gold by the thousands.
1. Profession
2. Product
3. How to Gather Product
4. How To Sell
5. Profit
1. Profession - Fishing
Fishing is a secondary profession which allows players to fish various objects, primarily fish, from surfaces of water (or lava). Most raw fish are edible directly or can be fed to Hunter Pets. Many can be cooked to improve their properties. (Raising Fishing and Cooking skills together is a good synergy.) Fish have value and can be vended (for a pittance, at low levels, but look at Goldenscale Vendorfish) or sold in the Auction House. Deviate fish caught both within Wailing Caverns and from the oases in The Barrens can fetch a good price, for example. A few fish are used as reagents for Alchemy, these will have a steady demand. Occasionally, fishing may also yield lower-level equipment, fish-related offhand items, locked chests, gems and herbs. Rogues can train up Lockpicking with locked containers they or others have fished. However, the Fishing profession is often neglected, as it provides little opportunity to improve a character's stats.
from WoWWiki Information
2. Product - Cataclym Fishes, Volatile Water, etc
First of all, with the release of cataclysm we get new food from cooking that gives really great buffs for raids, etc. Now fish for this amazing food is pretty expensive(up to 400g per stack with certian types of fish).
We'll be fishing for these types in this guide:
Deepsea Sage Fish - Deepsea Sagefish - Item - World of Warcraft
Lavascale Catfish - Lavascale Catfish - Item - World of Warcraft
Albino Cavefish - Albino Cavefish - Item - World of Warcraft
As well as :
Volatile Water - Volatile Water - Item - World of Warcraft
Now, though I listed three types of fish, the main ones we'll be selling are the Deepsea Sagefish and the Lavascale Catfish.
On my server Deepsea Sage Fish sells for about 150g a stack, while the Lavascale Catfish sells for about 300g a stack and Albino Cavefish sell for 15g a stack(not much but eh', it's gold).
3. How to Gather Product
I personally have been using a fishing bot called "Bl1zz4rDs FishY Bot" by Endecs, a member here. Here's a link for the bot.
http://www.mmowned.com/forums/world-...ot-4-0-3a.html
It seems to be always up to date with the latest patch.
Download it, Open it with Administrator Privilege, and start the bot. It's pretty easy to use.
1. Go to Settings > Keys and configure to your liking; Set MouseOverKey in your key binds from going in game > ESC > Key Bindings > and Set MouseOverKey to whatever you want. Set the Rod Key to whatever you want; Rod Key = Fishing, and if you use Lures/ any kinds of buffs set that too.
2. If you want it relog, alert you on whisper, stop after x amount of fishes go to extras and configure that to your liking.
3. When your done go to Main > select your WoW Proccess, and click on Standstill Fishing to start fishing, and stop to stop fishing.
First we'll fish for Deep Sea Sagefish - Deepsea Sagefish - Item - World of Warcraft
The best place so far is in Uldum under the Throne of the Four Winds; there should be a reef sticking up ontop of the water for you to stand on and fish.
Next, we'll fish for Lavascale Catfish - Lavascale Catfish - Item - World of Warcraft Albino Cavefish - Albino Cavefish - Item - World of Warcraft and Volatile Water - Volatile Water - Item - World of Warcraft
The best place so far that I've found is to fish these are Deathwing's Fall in Deepholm, on
top of the rock formations where your too high for the monsters to attack you, and yes you'll be fishing in the lava).
4. How To Sell
Once you get your fish let's go to the Auction House.
Now, so the prices on fish do not go under, I usually sell the Deepsea Sagefish at
about 25-30g per 5 stack.
Now 30 * 5 = 150 gold.
People will sell stacks for high, while you sell them in small amounts for a few gold less, but will more then likely sell because they're cheaper, and prices won't go under because your not selling them in stacks of 20.
Now for Lavascale Catfish, and Albino Cavefish however, I usually sell them in stacks of 20, though i'll probably change that after this guide.
Lavascale Catfish are about 300g on my server per stack, and I usually sell them for about 100g cheaper, though this may look stupid, it is very profitable because it's way cheaper, and you will sell the fish faster, which comes in handy because you will get ALOT of lavascale Catfish in Deepholm.
Also, Volatile Water;
These sell for about 12g per unit.
So, 12 * 200 = 2400g per stack(Maximum Stack Size is 200 for Volatiles).
I usually sell them at 50g per stack of 5, so the same method as above, Cheaper but will sell insanely fast, and prices will stay the same.
5. Profit
Now if you fish all day, all night which I have been doing for a month straight now, you so should be making a lot of gold.
I get about 25 stacks every few hours getting Lavascale Catfish;
100g * 25 = 2500g every say 3-4 hours.
Next,
I get about the same amout of fish getting Deepsea Sagefish in Uldum, so
150* 25 = 3750g every say 3-4 hours.
and finally,
I get about 200 Volatile Water while gathering the fish above, so
200 * 12 = 2200g every 3-4 hours.
Now let's calculate;
If you ONLY sell Lavascale Catfish; you'll get about 7.5k a day.
If you ONLY sell Deepsea Sagefish; you'll get about 11.2k a day.
If you ONLY sell Volatile Water; you'll get about 6.6k a day.
Now obviously you'll be selling the fish and water at the same time so add that and you'll get between 14k to 17k gold a day from straight fishing.
So far i've bought a new Mechano-Hog Mount, and 22k gold worth of epics from the AH for my new dps spec.
Good Luck with making gold, and thanks for reading this guide.

Good guide, didn't know about the reef spot under TotFW so thanks for that.
However, prices do vary per server. Fish sell for far less on mine. And if you do this 24/7, the market will become flooded with your goods and prices will naturally drop. Fish (and their respective cooked items) tend to sell better during the week and following the raid reset, and far less over the weekend. So I don't see 17k/day as a realistic number, and would be hesitant to commit to a general profit formula at all.
Nonetheless, +Rep for your efforts.

Great guide
I've been thinking about this theory, since many of us use vanilles for selling gold, and you can get 300 fishing on a lvl 5 which should result in 67% trash in the cata zones, it might be worth to run a fishing bot on your vanille accounts to make some extra money.
33% of 17k is still nearly 6k

I don't think you can enter Cataclysm zones without Cataclysm.

Very server dependent. Both servers I play on (highly populated pvp servers) the fish are 40-60g/stack. Other servers are much more expensive, so YMMV.

You can, im currently fishing in uldum on a lvl 5 char on my vanilla account. Max skill is 300 though, and even using +150 lure im not catching anything but grays, so i guess the "block" for non cata accounts is still active.

Did you write that all by yourself?
Don't bother to answer, next time post your sources, it's rude to get credit for someone else's work.

On topic: Nice guide...but I don't know if I can get the balls to bot for a day and a night non-stop :P. +rep
