MoP and Rare Pets (companions) 20K+ per day

I'd like to mention here that this isn't exactly viable without a bot (I strongly recommend honorbuddy), but it can be done by hand if you have the patience. I would also recommend that you check prices on your server's auction house (history here: The Undermine Journal) to see just how much these companions are selling.

So why are these selling so well? MoP pet battle system and also in 5.0.3 all will become account bound. I see people whisper me in trade on a daily basis laughing at my prices saying that "stupid pets will never sell for that much gold", meanwhile I have over 200k in the bank and usually end up selling it for real money. The problem is all the big sellers on the server only care about the mounts and completely deglect the pet market (which is alive and well) so competition is nearly next to none.

    High Priority:

    Parrot Cage (Hyacinth Macaw)
Average AH sell price: 8-14k (has sold up to 20k)
Average price sold quickly in trade: 5-7k
    Location: Zone Drop in Stranglethorn
    Drop %: 0.01-0.06 (average 1 per 8 hours)
High Priority Reason: High sale price (in demand) Razzashi Hatchling and First Mate Hat also obtainable

    Captured Firefly
Average AH sell price: 8-14k (has sold up to 17k)
Average price sold quickly in trade: 5-7k
    Location: Bogflare Needler in Zangarmarsh
    Drop %: 0.07 (average 1 per 6 hours)
High Priority Reason: High sale price (in demand) reasonable drop rate

    Tiny Crimson Whelpling
Average AH sell price: 8-14k (has sold up to 17k)
Average price sold quickly in trade: 5-7k
    Location: Zone Drop in Wetlands
    Drop %: 0.01-0.07 (average 1 per 7 hours)
High Priority Reason: High sale price (in demand) Dark Whelpling also obtainable

    Low Priority:

    Azure Whelpling
Average AH sell price: 15-20k (has sold up to 25k)
Average price sold quickly in trade: Unknown
    Location: Zone Drop in Winterspring
    Drop %: Unknown
Low Priority Reason: Unknown drop rate (seems low) no other valuable item obtainable (waste of time)

    Dark Whelpling
Average AH sell price: 1.5-3k (has sold up to 5k)
Average price sold quickly in trade: 2k
    Location: Searing Whelp in Wetlands
    Drop %: 0.18 (average 1 per 3 hours)
Low Priority Reason: Low sell price should be acquired with Tiny Crimson Whelpling

    Disgusting Oozeling
Average AH sell price: 4-6k (has sold up to 10k)
Average price sold quickly in trade: 3k
Location: Oozing Bag (Shifting Mireglob) Swamp of Sorrows
Drop %: 0.09 (Oozing Bag) (average 1 per 6 hours)
Low Priority Reason: Low sell price bags have a low drop rate no other valuable item obtainable (waste of time)

    Tiny Emerald Whelpling
Average AH sell price: 4-8k (has sold up to 12k)
Average price sold quickly in trade: 3k
    Location: Noxious Whelp Feralas
    Drop %: 0.09 (average 1 per 5 hours)
Low Priority Reason: Low sell price no other valuable item obtainable (waste of time)

    Razzashi Hatchling
Average AH sell price: 4-6k (has sold up to 8k)
Average price sold quickly in trade: 2.5k
    Location: Zone Drop in Stranglethorn
    Drop %: 0.01-0.07 (average 1 per 7 hours)
Low Priority Reason: Low sell price should be acquired with Parrot Cage (Hyacinth Macaw)

As you can see some pets are linked together by the same mobs and have a chance to drop both. This is best done by running multiple bots and placing one in each top priority area. Selling all in trade in the quickest way to sell these, but you may want to hold on to them until the expansion hits as they might rise in price once the pet battle system is live. As i said I recommend honorbuddy (has $1 per day trials on website) and a few throw away scroll accounts to bot on (never bot on an account you don't want to lose!).

    Ban Risk:
There is risk every time you turn on your bot so I don't recommend doing so on an account you actually care about! With that said, there are ways to reduce the chance of being banned to nearly next to none.

    1. Stay under the radar! Do not tell your friends in game that you're going to bot! Don't be stupid!
    2. Don't bot 24/7! If a human can't do it, Blizzard will know it's a bot! Log out, switch characters (or accounts) and log back in. Alternate areas between characters.
    3. Stay away from high populated areas. Player reports are the number 1 reason bots get banned! Farming pets in some isolated area with only a random lvl 30 passing by is better than botting 24/7 in Uldum with hundreds of 85s! Stay under the radar!
    4. USE GUILD BANK TO HOLD GOLD! If one account gets banned and it has all your gold on it then guess what? All that time is lost. Best to have a guild with guild repairs and lots of members so that those repairs will bury your deposits (Blizz GM doesn't want to look through 90 pages of repairs to see what you put in bank).

This can be done without botting as I've done it in the past but profits will be reduced (obviously) and it's tedious. If this helped please +rep me

This is a good method to make lots of gold but it rly depends on your luck, i farmed for macaw parrot for over 100 hours and never got it.
Also a good way to make gold with botting is to farm pit of saron for battered hilt, you get alot of green items that are selling for 100+ gold on AH, epics to sell and frostweave cloth that on some realms you can sell for even 100 gold / stack + the battered hilt which you can sell for at least 20k gold.

I just wanted to add a bit of math to this from what I'm getting personally to compare to or let others know what to expect.

I'm getting ~400 kills per hour with a ilvl 496 feral druid and even less with a 512 geared mage (could be because of routines that are not optimal for one shotting mobs)

According to wowhead the parrot is cage is a .01% drop from the guys I'm farming (on the beaches near booty bay) so we'd need to kill 10,000 of them to get one parrot cage on average.

    10,000 / 400 = 25 hours to get one.

    Bonus loots drop:

    Razzashi Hatchling, .02% drop chance is 5,000 / 400 = 12.5 hours
    First mate hate, .01% drop chance is 10,000 / 400 = 25 hours

So in a little over a full days time we're supposed to get

    Two Razzashi Hatchlings, 5,000g total
One First mate hat, 2500g total
    One Parrot cage. 8,000g total

Which on my server is worth a total of 15,500g if you farm 25 hours straight, which of course I can't, even with a bot. So we are talking perhaps 12.5 hours per day grinding / botting.

    15,500g / 2 days = 7,750g per day

Honestly if you have a bot or just wanted to grind, you could make a lot more than that farming herbs / ore / cloth etc. I've killed about 10,000 of these mobs and looted zero hats, parrots, or hatchlings . unlucky I guess.

    Also +repped the OP ty
