We Are Legendary (Cata Money Making)

Disclaimer:This is speculation, like all Cataclysm gold making guides there is a risk you may not profit as much.

With Cataclysm around the corner (3-4 months if they want the projected release date of 2010) we have found many new guild achievements. One achievement involves getting legendary items. There is profit to be made from this.

Below is a list of materials needed for the Legendary Ragnaros hammer along with their current price (server dependant).

Fiery Core - Item - World of Warcraft - (Fiery Core) - AH price 20-50g each - Resell in Cataclysm for 100-150g

Lava Core - Item - World of Warcraft - (Lava Core) - AH Price 30-70g each - Resell in Cataclysm for 120-200g

Dark Iron Ore - Item - World of Warcraft - (Dark Iron Ore) - AH Price 10-30g per stack - Resell in Cata 60-90. If you smelt them to Dark Iron Bar, Resell in Cata 100-120g

Once again this is all speculation.

It's not speculation, you can make it real. Get some gold and right before Cata hits, buy out all of them, and resell. You choose the price. You can put them for more than what you said, since you control the market. Nobody should start selling them for a lower price ;o.

But don't get too greedy. Putting things up for 1k or so is not good.

Also incorrect, blues have stated this achievement will be an exception.

It is a viable strategy, since people are going to want the guild achievement and you can only get it after Catty ships.

Sorry but that is incorrect. This is the only achievement that will count anything obtained before Cataclysm ships.

Yes but that doesn't mean you wont be able to do achievment after Cata hits.. It is not logical.... for me.

Its funny how this works, because you could than say that 8 different people joins the guild, everyone has different legendary, and they get achievement If this doesn't work, does this work atleast: If you get legendary with guild, and you leave the guild, and come back in cata, does this count one more legendary too or it only counts if you were in guild from that day you earned taht legendary?

Basically:

The achievement is retroactive.

Meaning all legendaries within the guild currently apply towards the achievement. Originally Blizzard were going to make all guild have to acquire the Legendaries after Cata launch date. This is what they meant when they said that the achievement would be retroactive.

Although I am curious as to the Dark Pheonix mount reward associated. If you have all 6 Legendaries would the mount be awarded to new members? If so you could sell membership for like 30k!

With the introduction of Guild reputation, I'd suppose you'd need Exalted to ever be able to touch that mount, if the guild gets the achievement.
