First off, I'm not english, so if I sound weird sometimes I'm sorry.
Since the LK25 man guide went so well I decided to try and write a guide for the heroic version. This is no copy+ paste, I've written it on my own. Also its not as fancy as the LK normal guide![]()
If there are missing things, let me know.
Also, I assume you know the LK on normal, so I won't go into too much detail about the spells that are the same on normal and only write comments and/or tips.
Phase 1
Spells:
- Infest You NEED Disci priests. It is a must have. In addition, Divine Hymn and Aura mastery can be used, for example when a Valkyr grabs the priest. In my guild even the Shadows use Divine Hymn now and then.
- Necrotic PlagueIt is essential that all camps, whether you have 2 or 3, are close enough to deliver the plague. Always stay close enough even if there is no void zone that forces you to do so.
- Shadow Trap This is the heroic only spell. He targets one player and summons a trap, very much like a void zone but if one stands in it, it explodes and will kick you and other players away. Triggering one means almost every time a wipe.
He also summons the Ghouls and Shambling Horrors but since there is no difference between heroic and normal, I won't list them.
There are several ways on how to do this phase. I will list two, so you can choose the one your guild likes the most.
First:
The raid positions itself like on the picture below and forms two caster/healer camps and moves back whenever a Shadow trap comes. Not every camp has to move every time but you have to look after the distance between you and the Shambling Horros, it mustn't get too far, so you have to move sometimes without having a Shadow Trap at your camp. This way not every one has to move every time and has more time to dps since only one of the camps moves

Second
The raid positions itself like in the picture below and moves sideways. As explained above, it is critical to be close enough to the Shambling Horrors. This is the tactic that my guild uses so the following pictures will use that tactic, too. If you use another, just look after where you all meet at the border. We also position a heal pala (pink dot) in the middle, just as a reassurance because he then can heal while the other healers have to move because of a Shadow Trap. This is not a must be, just a little tip to help the healers if you see that they are having problems with this.
Attachment 3863
Whether you use the first or second way or even another tactic, it is important to look after the health of the LK.
At 70% he will go into the middle and cast his Remorseless Winter very soon so the whole raid has to be close to the border when the LK gets close to 70%. It does VERY much dmg on heroic so keep that in mind and move soon enough. Also, use Heroism right at the beginning to reach the Transition phase as soon as possible.
Transition Phase (1.5)
Spells:
- Raging SpiritReally deadly if the tank isn't fast enough in taunting. I recommend that the Bosstank taunts the first and the second spirit so he can concentrate on the LK after that Phase. The offtank takes the other two. Always be FAST to dispell silence off of them so that they can taunt the next Spirit.
- Soul Shriek Evil cast. Very evilSilence + deadly for most DDs and Healers but I assume your tanks are fast enough to face them away from the raid.
- Pain and Suffering Be sure to have enough distance, spread wide enough. On Heroic this is really hard to heal if too much people have 3 stacks or more.
The other Spells are just the same, be sure to have enough Hunters (or whatever DD you use)to bring the Ice Spheres down fast enough. They have much more life on heroic.
The first Spirit can't be tanked where I marked it since the Horrors won't be down by then but afterwards they should be tanked in the middle so that everyone can dps them without moving too close to others.

Phase 2
Spells:
- DefileSame as on normal. It just grows much faster that on normal so you have to get out very fast.
- ValkyrsHere is a great difference. The Valkyrs have much more life but you only have to bring them down to 50%. They will drop the grabbed player, fly upwards and begin to shoot at the raid. Offtanks are advised to taunt them. A common problem is that many players don't look at the health of the Valkyrs and waste time/dps on them. Have a look at that! It doesn't help you if the Valkyrs are always at 30% but the LK won't go down. You also should divide your DDs so that each Valkyrs receive dmg, not only one. Also look at who stuns them when etc. Communication is critical here, for example if one who has to stun is grabbed!
WLs (like me) have it easy in that Phase. Always remember to summon your Portal near you. Really CLOSE! I once placed it and then run away a bit and was grabbed and too far away from my portal. Ahem. Fail
Also, regardless of what your Raidleader says, don't focus the Valkys but use Seed. The LK moves with the Valkyrs so its four targets that you are bombing -> much more dmg than focussing one Valkyr.
As mentioned above, the LK should always move close with the Valkyrs while they are flying. It gives extra cleave/bomb dmg. Be sure to drag him back to the middle fast enough. Its also critical here that the raid positions itself right so that the Valkrys all fly in one direction.
Now, the much beloved Defile. As mentioned above, it grows faster than on normal so its important to place it outside of the raid. In my guild the healers and casters ran towards the throne, the melees away from it. I'll show that on a picture. You don't have to do it exactly like that but imo its a good strategy to get the defile out of the raid. Do this until the LK reaches 40%. I can't advise to stop moving to the middle at~43% or something like that because if Valkyrs are about to spawn you have to decide for yourself if you dps the LK or do another Valkyrphase.
Attachment 3866
As a little tip to that, if he summons Valkyrs right before he hits the 40% its not a wipe. Just stun the Valkyrs until the outer ring is back up since they'll just drop the players on this ring and fly away.
But again, you have to look how fast you're getting the LK down and decide if or if not you want to take the risk.
Transition Phase (2.5)
Its just the same as before but I wouldn't pop Bloodlust/Heroism here again like on normal. I'd save that for the next Phase.
Phase 3
BE COOL. Really. Stay cool. Most people raise their voices now, get hectic and begin to make errors. Take a second, breathe and STAY COOL.
Find someone in your raid that always stays calm, doesn't panic and has a calm voice. Set a good visible mark on him (We use the yellow star)
Spells:
- Defile Still there, but imo easy to handle since you don't have any Valkyrs that poke you around.
- Vile Spirits Like on normal, he will cast them and you have to kill them or have a tank that intercepts/taunt them so that the raid won't get killed.
- Soul ReaperThe fun part! Ahahah ._. I'll explain it below.
As i said above, mark one player that dares to take responsibility. As soon as you get teleported down, all should meet in the middle of the room and then follow the marked player. He and only he will talk in TS/Vent/whatever and will give out the directions. If you have time (and the ability) do some dmg on the Vile Spirits down there but its much more important to avoid dmg.
The Vile spirits will get down on you so you have to avoid them. Mostly you have to run around in the circle and look where they are about to pop. Run together as a group and let the marked player lead you.
EVERY Priest whether Shadow or Healer should use PoM whenever ready. If the Healers are having trouble even Holy Nova. Use your Health Stones. Many players get really really hectic in there and start to panic. Thats why I suggest the marked player.
You almost have it now! As soon as you get teleported back you HAVE TO SPREAD since there will come a defile. Don't spread too wide. Also: You spawn directly where you where before getting teleported down. The LK should therefore be at the border BEFORE you are teleported down so he casts the Vile Spirits at the border and also the raid should be close to there, but a bit spreaded.
The picture suggests how you could position yourself before getting teleported down.
Attachment 3865
The raid then should dps the LK and the offtank should pop CDs and eliminate the Vile Spirits. Pop heroism now. Don't forget to move from side to side when the Vile Spirits spawn. Just the same as on normal.
Rinse and repeat until 10%
I hope you like my guide and I also hope that I didn't forgot something critical. If you have any further questions or suggestions on how to improve this guide, let me know.
I've attached all the pictures. That does not look as nice but saves place, I personally don't like it if there are so much big pictures.
