Around 2h /played per level for 77-80 with heirlooms.

Its fast but boring though, good thing is that you can do all the quests you skipped 77-80 now for extra cash.

Try to AoE like 7-9 mobs down at once. Since the attack abilities can be used on multiple mobs. And don't loot the mobs.

Another tip - try leveling (with rested XP) on fri, sat, sun, mon - and que for the 'Call to Arms Battleground' whilst killing the mobs - this does 3x things:

a) it will give you a break between the killing
b) a win will give you roughly 15% of a level without using any rested XP
c) doing this will enable you to level from 77 1/2 to 80 with full rested XP and you should also be able to buy a PVP mount at the end (50,000+ honor)

I have done this method now on 3x alts and I'm on my 4th

Was able to hit 730 000 exp/h for a full hour of grinding these. 20% bonus from heirlooms. +rep

Did 910k exp to 1.15m exp (240k) in like 15 minutes, can easily get 1m exp per hour (rested + 20% Heirlooms).

Well bad news everyone. This does not work. I have been grouping 5+ mobs together even up to 10-12 with only a few seconds break in between to ensure I get a big group. I have been using both 1 and 2 to aoe and single target and they die fast. I get the xp. I have the 2 x heirlooms. I am lucky I am a night elf so I can shadowmeld when I fall which is inevitable if u are gathering 10+ mobs together. Without shadowmeld this would be impossible. Without rested XP I am getting 350k/hour, worse than running random dungeons.

I am not doing anything wrong and I highly doubt anyone has grouped together 10+ mobs with only a few seconds downtime and gotten the purported 600k/hour. This does not work, do not waste the 3 hours you have to spend on the quest chain to get to this

The fact that these mobs reset so easily so you cant group any decent amount up also adds to this being a failure. With rested xp im sure it is viable but that will only last shortly unless you take a few days off. Once again DO NOT waste your time with this. Also how can this website require you to relog in every 15minutes? I mean really is 'security' so important around here, its a bunchof teenagers chatting about a video game. how about trying to make things convenient?

edit: ok I was a bit mad at being misled by this guide but what I say is true and also about the whole website loggin in thing im sure others have thought about this too

Gartoe, you are doing it wrong, and it does not take 3 hours to do the prequests.

This was done with no other modifier besides heirloom items. Time spent at this point was an hour played.


Need a step by step guide?

1. Get TurboKeys, it will save your fingers the pain of clicking 1 repeatedly.
2. Keep your shield up at any time, button number 3 (20sec cooldown).
3. Kill one and one while prioritising the mobs who fly in groups of two. Dont go around gathering groups!
4. Use the sprint ability smart, use it to catch the grouped NPCs.
5. If your HP gets low, get the **** out'a there. Make sure there arent any mobs headed your way, dismount and re-mount. Voila, full HP.

Ive never seen the need of using the knock back(button 2).

I appreciate your attempt to help me here. I did as you say, went on on one with mobs but went for the groups of 2 first, occasionally I would take on groups. I went nonstop for 30 mins, no dying, no dismounting, no more than a few seconds between fights and only using button 1.

I got 160khp meaning it would result in 320k/hour. Now I understand that some people may have a better method (although I can't see how) but even so the difference between your claimed 731k/hour and my 320k is too high to put down to anything other than it is either not true or there is something else you didnt mention in your step by step guid.

to have more than double my xp with us both using 2 x heirlooms and no rested is ridiculous.

Im not claiming I made 730k an hour, Ive proved it! And there is nothing else to it then what I told in the step by step guide.

730 000exp / 1388exp = ~526mobs an hour. 526 / 60 = 8,7 kills per minute.

Sorry Gortoe, some methods just weren't meant to be, but getting only 320k/hour means you're doing something dreadfully wrong. When I first wrote this guide, I wasn't even AoE killing the mobs, simply running around and chain killing single, sometimes two mobs at a time. To simply say it doesn't work when... it's obviously been proven it works is... a bit silly at best.

If it doesn't work for you, there are other, and honestly less grindy, ways to level.
