    Warrior guide - Preview version

    Warrior guide - Preview version

    Hey and welcome to this free warrior guide - Preview version. Keep in mind that this guide -WON'T- make it easy to level a warrior. It does make it easier to level one. Don't post this guide anywhere else without my permission!

    Q&A: What is this guide for?
    This guide is made for human warriors, but it also works with any other race. It'll descripe the best leveling spec for you warrior, gems, enchants, where to level, best stats, glyphs, procs, racials, abilities, PvP and much much more!

    Q&A: Why should I use a guide to level/learn about my warrior?
    This guide is efficient and very usefull to any new warrior, therefore making it lots more easier to level.

    Q&A: Why do I have to pick a human warrior?
    You don't have to pick a human warrior, but I highly recommend you pick one if you decide to use this guide. This is because of the fact this guide is made for human warriors.

    Q&A: Will this guide take me to level 80?
    No, this free version only is about the warriors details.

    Q&A: How much will this guide cost me?
    Nothing! It's totally free.

    Requirements:
    - A working PC with World of Warcraft installed till the very last patch;
    - Internet, which I assume you have when you read this;
    - A human warrior: any other race will work too, but it's better to have a human one;
    - This guide.

    Chapters:
    §1 - The warrior & you.
    §1.1 - What are warriors good for?

    §2 - My very first few levels.
    §2.1 - What's the best area to go and level?
    §2.2 - Leveling talents.
    §2.3 - Usefull glyphs.
    §2.4 - My abilities.
    §2.5 - The best rotation.

    §3 - What are gems/enchants?
    §3.1 - Gemming my gear.
    §3.2 - Enchanting my gear.

    §4 - How important are my racials?
    §4.1 - What are my racials?
    §4.2 - What racials do other races have?

    §5 - What is a instance?
    §5.1 - Why should I go to instances?

    Now let's start leveling!
    §1 - The warrior & you.
    So, you have picked a warrior, didn't you? The warrior is well known for the fact it's quite hard to level. But, with this guide you will have you very first step till level 80!

    §1.1 - What are warriors good for?
    Warriors are strong melee fighting beasts who will not stop untill they have destroyed their enemies. They're able to wield every single weapon/armor existing in the World of Warcraft, except for wands. Level 1 - 39 warriors wear mail armor and when reaching level 40 they'll even be able to wear plate, which is the most strong armor type in the game. Warrior have, just like any other class, 3 talent trees: Arms, Fury and Protection.

    Arms is mainly used PvP and leveling purposes. This is because of the mayor burst damage it can give to other players/mobs. Arms is even used at level 80 for PvE purposes and when you obtain better gear you'll most probably switch to another tree called Fury.

    Fury is a quite bad tree to begin with. We'll be talking about this spec upon reaching level 60.

    Protection is, otherwise then Arms or Fury, a tanking tree. The purpose of this tree is not to give damage, but to take damage. This is very usefull while you are in a instance (Instances: §5), so you can protect your party from being attacked.

    §2 - My very first few levels.
    Well now, you've made your warrior so far ehh? As you made a human warrior you'll be in you starting area, which is Elwynn Forest. This is a map of how it should look like:

    Elwynn Forest.

    As you may already noticed, it includes the names of some places located in Elwynn Forest, which will be quite usefull to you while leveling.

    This here, is a picture more preciously of the starting area of the humans:

    Starting area of the humans.

    You will be having serveral quests awaiting you when you arrive. Pick every single quest you see. If you press the 'L' button your quest log will pop up. You can read all the quests you have accepted so far. Also, the quest log will descripe what to do the complete the quests and if you take a took at your map you'll also see where to do those quests/complete them.

    An example of how a quest on your minimap should look like.

    Questing is the fastest way for you to gain levels. Just killing mobs will bore you out and won't give as much XP a quest would do. There's also the posibility to go leveling through dungeons (Instances: §5), which some players will find more interresting to level with. This will all depend of your experience of playing RPG games.

    Upon reaching level 6, continue to the next chapter.

    §2.1 - What's the best area to go and level?
    Level 1 - 10: This'll depend on what race you are;

    Alliance: Draenei (Burning Crusade required) - Azuremyst Isle.

    Horde: Trolls - Durotar.
    Horde: Taurens - Mulgore.
    Horde: Undead - Tirisfal Glades.
    Horde: Blood Elfs (Burning Crusade required) - Sunstrider Isle.

    Level 11 - 20: - This'll depend on what race you are;
    Alliance: Humans - Westfall
    Alliance: Dwarfs - Loch Modan.
    Alliance: Gnomes - Loch Modan.
    Alliance: Night Elfes - Auberdine.
    Alliance: Draenei (Burning Crusade required) - Bloodmyst Isle.
    Horde: Orcs - The Barrens.
    Horde: Trolls - The Barrens.
    Horde: Taurens - The Barrens.
    Horde: Undead - Silverpine Forest.

    Alliance: Level 51 - 58: Burning Steppes.
    Horde: Level 45 - 58: Un'goro Crater, Winterspring.
    Alliance: Level 58 - 68: The Outlands.
    Horde: Level 58 - 68: The Outlands.
    Alliance: Level 68 - 80: Northrend.
    Horde: Level 68 - 80: Northrend.

    §2.2 - Leveling talents.
    Every link will have one more talent then the previous one.
    Download Warrior Talents.txt file

    §2.3 - Usefull glyphs.

    This is how a glyph looks like in your inventory.

    Upon reaching level 15 you will be able to use glyphs. Glyphs are little documents with writings on it which will improve your abilities most of the time. Those are the glyphs that you'll need:
    Warrior - Level 15: Glyph of Overpower, Glyph of Battle (1 minor, 1 major)
    Warrior - Level 30: Glyph of Execution (1 major)
    Warrior - Level 50: Glyph of Bloodrage (1 minor)
    Warrior - Level 70: Glyph of Enduring Victory (1 minor)
    Warrior - Level 80: Glyph of Mortal Strike (1 major)

    §2.4 - My abilities.
    The warrior is always attacking with melee attacks. Because of this, all of the warriors abilities will be melee attacks as well, with some exceptions. Using these abilities will allow you to kill mobs faster, which is really important if you wish to level up fast. 60-80% of the overall damage you cause is because of your abilities. Randomly pressing them will not work. If you want to kick some butt, you'll need a good working rotation.

    §2.5 - The best rotation.
    A good rotation is really important to any class. But it's even more important for warriors. Why? Because if you do damage, you'll get rage. And warriors use rage to cast more abilities which is more damage. It could be quite hard to find yourself a good rotation, so this might help you finding your own personal good working rotation.
    Slam: It's a real important leveling ability. It's like 35-40% of your overall damage done to mobs. Do not use this ability untill you get Improved Slam (You'll get this talents somewhere around level 40.)
    Rend: One of the warriors first abilities. When you'll reach some higher level it will become more then a simple DoT. It'll also trigger the overpower ability.
    Overpower: Overpower is a so called proc ability. This means you can only use A when B occurs. In this case, Overpower procs as soon as your target dodges an attack.
    Charge: Charge is what warriors are famous for. It is only useable out of combat on low levels and even in combat while being higher level. This ability will let your warrior walk ultra fast towards your enemy, stunning it for 1.5 second and you'll gain 10 rage (based on skill rank).
    Heroic Strike: This spell called Heroic strike is obtained as soon as you make your warrior. It'll simply increase the damage done with your weapon as soon as auto-attack hits the target.
    Victory Rush: One of the abilities which don't cost any rage at all. After you kill a mob which grant you XP/honor this ability will be useable for the upcoming 20 seconds.
    Thunder Clap: Thunderclap is mostly used by Protection warriors (Protection: §1). It does a high amount of threat and does AoE (Area of effect) damage.
    Bloodrage: This ability won't deal damage to any mob. This ability grants you 10 rage instantly and another 10 rage over 10 seconds. To use this ability you'll have to sacrifice a small amount of health. You can remove the health sacrifice by having this Glyph.

    §3 - What are gems/enchants?
    Gems and enchants are really important when reaching the level cap. They will either improve the damage per second or will give you more health while tanking. There's only a slight difference between these two.

    Gems have been added since The Burning Crusade and can only be placed in the so called special sockets. The gem itself will have stats. So, if you'd place such gem in the socket on your gear, the stat on the gem will activate. Gems are modified stones which can be crafted by Jewelcrafting.

    Enchants can be placed on almost every typ of gear: Head, shoulders, cloak, chest, wrist, gloves, legs and feets. You can also enchant you own rings if you are a Enchanter. Enchants will improve the stats on your gear, just like gems will do. It's recommend not to use any high quality gems/enchants untill you have reached the level cap.

    §3.1 - Gemming my gear.
    It's highly recommend to use:
    Fractured Cardinal Ruby: Requires you to be level capped and Arms specced.
    Bold Cardinal Ruby: Requires you to be level capped and Fury specced.
    Solid Majestic Zircon: Requires you to be level capped and Protection specced.

    If you do have gear with a empty socket on it, while not being level capped you have two options:
    - Use green/blue quality gems;
    - Don't gem at all.

    §3.2 - Enchanting my gear.
    It's highly recommend to use:
    As a Arms or Fury warrior use attack power enchants, because it'll improve the damage you'll deal.
    As a protection warrior stack stamina enchants, because it'll increase your health pool.

    Also, do not use any high level enchants while not being level capped. It really is a waste of money!

    §4 - How important are my racials?
    Racials are differend for every race. Everyone has 1 or 2 useable racial and few passive racials. It's not like you can't play without the best racials, but specifically in PvP it would be helpfull.

Silences all enemies within 8 yards for 2 sec and restores 15 Runic Power. (Deathknight only). (Active racial)

    §5 - What is a instance?

    This is an example of a instance portal.

    Instances are portals to a other world where you can find 'elite' monsters. These elites can't be solo'd by most of the classes and will require you to go as a group. I suggest you to go with a 5-man group;
    - 1 tank;
    - 1 healer;
    - 3 dps;
    The tank is supposed to hold aggro on the mobs and take damage. His job is to taunt the mobs to attack him, instead of the other party members.

    The healer is also really important. He'll heal the tank and the dps when they take damage and need heals. Healers will always work with mana, which can run out, so prepare for some MBs (Mana break; Getting full on mana).

    The dps will take care of the damaging part. They'll weaken the mobs and eventually kill them. Any class is having a dps tree (Trees: §1.1). Dps stands for 'damage per second'.

    §5.1 - Why should I go to instances?
    Instances are a nice example of leveling. The elite monsters that you'll find in these instances will give you some nice amount of XP. Also, there are quests that'll need to be done inside of such instance. Those quests usually will give you more XP then regular quests plus some nice gear/loot.

    This is a free example of my guide. I hoped you liked it and good luck leveling your very own warrior!

    If you wish to advertise a service or product, even if it is not yours you need to first gain permission from an Administrator.

    I would be feeling pretty regretful if I was you, about what they are about to do to your MMOwned account.
