When you kill Baron without killing the ziggurats a flag is put on your account
where Blizzard will investigate. Its probably a 50-50% chance, but for
1 mount, I wouldn't risk it.

Not too long ago when there was a way to bypass by using crates to make gate open, I did this several times and was never flagged for skipping zuggers.
