[Quest info] Battered Hilt Quest Chain!

Here's the entire quest chain, with simple descriptions and quest links for the Horde versions.
    1. The Battered Hilt
Bring the Battered Hilt to Myralion Sunblaze at Quel'Delar's rest, south of the Argent Tournament Grounds.
    2. What The Dragons Know
Speak to Krasus at the top of Wyrmrest Temple.
    3. The Silver Covenant Scheme (Alliance version is called "The Sunreavers' Plan)
Obtain the Orders by killing an NPC in the Dalaran Sewers. Make sure you kill the right one.
    4. A Suitable Disguise
Obtain a Borrowed Tabard from Shandy Glossgleam; He is upstairs in the Threads of Fate: if you are standing in front of the stairs with the Violet Citadel to your back, it is to the right (to the left is the toy store).
    5. An Audience With The Arcanist
Retrieve the Ancient Dragonforged Blades tome from Arcanist Tybalin. Use the disguise and go in the Alliance section of Dalaran.
    6. Return To Myralion Sunblaze
Bring the Ancient Dragonforged Blades to Myralion Sunblaze at Quel'Delar's Rest.
    7. Reforging The Sword
Obtain 5 Infused Saronite Bars and the Forgemaster's Hammer and use them to make the Reforged Quel'Delar. (AKA: Run the Pit of Saron. The infused bars are near the entrance; don't forget you have to kill the boss, too.)(It appears this can be done on Normal Difficulty.)
    8. Tempering The Blade
Temper the Reforged Quel'Delar in the Crucible of Souls. (AKA: kill the final boss of Forge of Souls; use the quest item nearby.)(It appears this can be done on Normal Difficulty.)
    9. The Halls Of Reflection
Bring your Tempered Quel'Delar to Sword's Rest inside the Halls of Reflection. (AKA, obviously, run Halls of Reflection.)(It appears this can be done on Normal Difficulty.)
    10. Journey To The Sunwell
Speak with Halduron Brightwing at the entrance to the Sunwell Plateau on the Isle of Quel'Danas.
    11. Thalorien Dawnseeker
Visit Thalorien Dawnseeker's Remains and obtain his blessing to wield Quel'Delar. (Go around behind SWP to the Dead Scar (southern end of Isle of QD zone, not in the SWP raid instance) and kill a bunch of mobs.)
    12. The Purification of Quel'Delar
Immerse your Tempered Quel'Delar in the Sunwell. Speak to a Warden of the Sunwell when you are ready to enter the Sunwell Plateau. (Possibly different versions of this for sword/mace?)
    13. A Victory For The [Sunreavers/Silver Covenant] - (sword or mace)
Bring the Restored Quel'Delar to the NPC at the Violet Citadel in Dalaran.

Seem like this is just a Wowhead copy :-)
Allthough, you contributed - great job. Some people might not have the time to do such thing.

I did this over the weekend- it's pretty annoying, as you have to join groups to do the 3 dungeon stages and so you have to be concentrating on clearing the dungeon for your group while also doing your quest stuff. After shelling out 11k for th battered hilt, I was pretty nervous that the quest would simply disappear and I'd be out a lot of gold. Worked out ok, though- got the sword.

What do you mean, "while also doing your quest stuff?" The quest stuff is trivial.

I've been lucky with the hilt, looted two of them and did the quest both times for different characters. This write-up is fine but lacks some details that I can fill in:

    4. This is mini-game you play with a gnome who needs help washing his laundry. He'll call out for an item, you click on it. You have about three seconds per item, so it's pretty easy. Stand behind the items, adjust your view overhead, and zoom out a little to make it easier. When you're finished, the costume will spawn next to the elemental on the ground. It's easy to miss so pay attention.

6.5. Be prepared to take a couple of screen shots of your conversation with Blood Queen Lana'thel. She's totally hot and this may be the only chance you ever have to see her up close and not in combat.

    7. When you zone into POS, the stacks of Saronite you've always ignored will become clickable. You can get all five stacks right at the entrance, but if you miss them, there are more around the stairs up the Forgemaster. Kill the Forgemaster, wait for his loot to be awarded, and then loot his corpse for the hammer. Use the hammer to complete this leg of the quest.

    8. Have to kill Devourer of Souls in FOS. Use the hilt piece at the forge in his room after the battle.

    9. This is the only part where your quest will actually effect other players, so be prepared to explain to the group what's going on when you first zone in. As soon as your group walks into the Frostmourne chamber a flying sword will spawn and attack. It's not a hard fight, but could still kill your group if they're not expecting it. Also, this part has a tendancy to bug the zone. If the waves don't spawn, apologize profusely, thank them for helping you, and tell them to disband and re-queue. There's no way to get this instance working if that happens.

    11. Easy event but be prepared to put out at least moderate AoE damage, as you will have to fight off 3 to 5 mobs and one standard 80 elite.

Yes, but there are annoying ways to screw up, such as by not realizing that you are supposed to loot the sword after you fight and defeat it in the Halls of Reflection. And since your teammates don't care about your quest (and possibly resent you for taking up their time with it), they likely won't be much help.

If you need a guide on how to do this quest chain; you should be hit in the head with a battered hilt. Nothing along this chain is hard except maybe finding groups for the 3 instances. If you don't loot your sword after you fight it in HoR (its sparkling on the ground in front of you) again, you should be hit in the head. Tells you what to do in each step of the chain. I have done it two times (lock and warrior) and never needed to look up anything. Read your quest description.
