Faster Farming/Leveling with buffs

I saw a similar thread, when doing a quick search but some of them couldn't redo it. There was a bunch of contradicting answers etc. And I know this might be common sense to people, I know this might make me a nub...but to tell ya'll the truth...I've been playing this game for 5 yrs now and I didn't even think about this. Just realised.

Now if you want to level faster from approx 60-80, you can join an AV and get the starting buffs that people do while preparing for the battle. Now when you have gathered all the 60/30 minute buffs from the other classes now you can just /afk and you will still have them on. Did it just now, and this is not working as intended. So, short summary:

1. Join AV
2. Get long lasting buffs
3. /afk the bg
4.????
5. Profit while leveling/farming

This isn't working as intended? You're not supposed to keep BG buffs after you leave?

I've been doing this on my shaman as I level as soon as my deserter debuff leaves. I also do not limit myself to 60-80, I'm doing this at level 20+.

Oh too add to this "superb guide." If you join a raid get full raid buffs and then right click your portrait and leave group then hearth, you get the same outcome =)
