Another Battered Hilt Guide - Tanks.

I can kill two of these skellys with my prot warrior with mostly 245 gear (~40k hp). ending with around 5%-30% hp left when I'm done, depends on luck mostly but i have not died yet.

i spend all big CD's early so i can have them late. i use Battle shout over Commadning as i need as much damage as possible.
imp revenge works like a charm as well.

testing this with my paladin 542 def and 30k hp doubt ill make it but ill give it a go , if i do happen to succeed and kill em then ill tell you


woohoo killing them is actually really easy i just ran out of mana a bit

Eh, they INCREASED it, never lowered it. Give your source and I will give mine...

I thought they lowered it....and then it was to low so they raised it abit....but its still a very low drop rate..

also, i doubt you have 2 hilts, unless you have been very lucky / farming 24/7

check the hotfix for 12/15/09 plainly states the following

• Quel’Delar in now unique equip.
• Naxxramas can now be cleared in any order for the Immortal and Undying achievements.
• The drop rate for the Battered Hilt has been increased.
• The Skeletal Slave in the Pit of Saron has had the ability to drop the Battered Hilt and other random drop epics removed.

The drop rate is 0.1%. In order to get 1 in average you will need to kill 1000 mobs. This way you can kill 10 per hour so in other words 100 hours per hilt. The guy is either a liar or Gastone

Drop rate was increased as of the 16th.

Drop rate was increased a bit, and the armory says drop chance is 1%-2%. I've been farming them on my SP. Actually, I'll make a little guide...

Wish I had yalls luck I've cleared all 3 heroics 10 days haven't seen 1 hilt drop.

The skeletons can barely hit me in my avoidance set for tanking ICC raid. Soloing these is cake and they die pretty quickly. Only loose 10% hp. Hoping for the drop

As a pally tank I'm doing this really easy I'm going down to 60-70%~ hp when fighting both but when I finish one off I'm back at 100% till the last one dies.

I've got 37.794 HP selfbuffed (BoS) I use Seal of Wisdom for mana so I use Judgement of Light for Hp, and of I got my Righteous Fury on since it lowers the damange on my by 6%.
I got 2862 AP, 24.92% Dodge, 19.92% Parry, 15.23 Block and 25.729 Armor

And to those who say the drop rate is 0.1 / 0.2% drop chance it cant be, since the drop chance WAS 1-2% and than they Increased it cause they said people dont need to farm for it so they increased the drop chance instead. Witch is now probably 3-5% I guess, atleast not less, else blizzard was just lying.

The whole drop chance thing is correct about it being higher now. Long story short, they lowered it, found it was to low, upped it, then upped it again a few days later...thus getting you that 1-3% drop rate. Had a guildy have it drop 3 times in 1 run(not solo) yet I cant ever get it to drop.

A little tip for undergeared pallies who try this. A very easy way to stay at high health is to cast turn evil on 1 mob, when the fear runs out, turn evil the mob you were hitting. keep alternating and you'll almost never have both on you

you should solo pit of saron instead, LOTS of trash mobs there and only a few casters most tanks can also solo the first 2 bosses, at least death knights since they have lots of self heals

it only drops in Heroic Version.
