    The LFG System and You!

Sorry for some reason the image got a white border!

This thread is a comprehensive guide on the new LFG system implement in Patch 3.3. After experiencing both the PTR and live versions I feel that this guide would benefit those who do not completely understand the new system and can learn a thing or two about it. Please sit back and enjoy this quick and easy guide on how to use the new LFG dungeon system!

    I. Overview
Hey guys so the main goal of this guide is to enlighten people who haven't figure out the new LFG system about how it works, how to use it, how to be safe when using it, and to maximize it's uses. We're going to first look at the LFG tab and how to get yourself setup to actually begin to look for a group. After we have figured that out, we'll looking more into the system and see different features it offers such as doing specific dungeons that you want to get done.

When you first open up the LFG tab, you'll come to a screen like this:

I have numbered the important details of this tab and will explain them in detail. The first three things we will look at are the role choices available. If you have been playing WoW and have in fact reached 80 you should know the three roles that a character can play. We have, in order, tank then DPS then a healer. Each group will consist of 1 tank, 1 healer, and 3 DPS. Due to the fact that some classes can only play as one role, they will be locked out of choosing the other 2 roles and only have choice number 3 which is in fact DPS (an example would be a Rogue, Hunter, Warlock, etc.). Next to the role symbols we have the leadership symbol which is an optional choice. Although this is a simple choice I do want to iterate that queuing with this selected will in fact increase your chance of finding a group quicker. I have tested this and it always seemed to go faster. You shouldn't really worry about being the leader of the PUG because it's just a heroic and really there shouldn't be anything you need to explain or do except play through and complete the dungeon. Item number 5 is a drop down window which opens to show item number 6 showing three options. The first option is Specific Dungeons which we will get to in section IV. The second option is Random Lich King Dungeon which we will get to in section III. Finally, we have the last option which is the option it will always open to first, Random Lich King Heroic which we will talk about more in depth in section II. Now that we have done a quick rundown of the system, we will move more into how each of the dungeon options work.

    II. Random Lich King Heroic
The first thing you will see when you open the LFG system is the Random Lich King Heroic. This system is a quick and easy way to find a group to do any heroic. With this all dungeon lockouts are IGNORED, that's right! IGNORED! This means that any dungeon is available to be selected for you at any and all times. Although the main reason this system is most effective is because you can farm Triumph Badges all day long without ever having to stop! Something you should know about this system though is that when you find a group to join and you end up going inside the instance you will have a debuff that makes it so you cannot rejoin the random system until 15 minutes has passed. You can also get a debuff called Dungeon Deserter which is about the same as the normal Deserter debuff except it disallows you from using the random LFG system instead of the BG system. Joining the queue with a full group will not give you the main debuff, but if you do leave you will receive the Deserter debuff.

    III. Random Lich King Dungeon
This system is very similar to the Random Lich King Heroic but it only takes you to a Dungeon, instead of a heroic (obviously). This is useful for 70-79 characters trying to get geared before they hit 80. Although it can be used by 80s for farming gear in instance such as ToC and the new ICC instances, it's still random and you might be thrown into something you don't want to run. That is where the specific dungeon system comes in!

    IV. Specific Dungeons
The Specific Dungeons system is for when you don't to have to get a random dungeon, although when you choose to use this system you lose the 2 extra badges at the end of the instance. This is very handy when you are just looking to do a few instances that you don't care if you get locked to (such as the 3 new dungeons). When you are using this system you cannot select an instance you have already run that day, and dungeon lockouts are NOT ignored!

    V. Looking for Raid
The LFR system is another tab that Blizzard decided to implement in Patch 3.3. You can access this tab by typing in /lfr into chat or by going to the raid tab in social and opening the Raid Browser. This system is very similar to the new LFG system except that it's not cross-instance and you do not receive any extra badges by using it (or anything else for that matter). In this tab you can add a comment, choose what role you want to play, and ultimately pick any and all of the raid instances that WoW currently offers. This is a great way to find a raid without having to troll Trade chat. I highly suggest using it!

    VI. Teleporting to/from Instances
Another beauty of this new system is that you have the option to teleport to and from the instance you are doing from anywhere. So after you have queued in Dalaran and been teleported in, you can teleport back out by right clicking the eye symbol on your minimap and choosing to teleport out. This is very handy for groups that are wiping a lot, and you will be able to avoid having to run out and find somewhere to repair. It's also very handy for getting reagents, changing roles, and leaving the instance quickly. The only drawback from this is that you will always be teleported into the instance and have to run to the group from the very beginning which can be a hassle.

VII. Things to Look Out For & Vote to Kick
Although the new system works extremely well and makes life a breeze there are a few things that you should always be looking out for to prevent yourself from being completely disappointed. You're probably wondering, what type of things? Well there are a couple things that I can list now, and I'm sure there will be more things you find to annoy you. The first thing I want to mention is that gear can be a problem and tends to reflect a person's abilities and of course watching them tank, heal, or DPS you can generally tell if they're a bad player. Although if you do end up in a Heroic/Dungeon that is super easy then it's really not a problem, but if you're trying to do Halls of Reflection and some noob ass hunter doing 800 DPS comes in and expects the group to carry him, he can gtfo. Another thing to look out for is people who do not speak fluent English, such as farmers who might end up ninja-ing you. Although it's hard to ML in a 5 man, being the leader has the advantage of it not happening to helpless ole' you. This brings me to the next beautiful part of the new LFG system, Vote to Kick!

That's right, Vote to Kick! Right click a player's portrait and hit Vote to Kick and a popup will appear on the other group members' screens with which they can vote to boot or keep the player that has been chosen to kick. Although it's currently buggy (multiple kicks are close to impossible to do), it is nice to weed out people you really don't want messing up your runs! I always advise making sure everyone knows what's going on and that they know what to do in an encounter. It's always good to make sure, especially if the people who don't know anything fail to ask questions!

    VII. Conclusion
I would like to conclude this guide with a thanks to any and all who read this. Hopefully people will learn something from this and pass it on! I am new to MMOwned and hope to be welcomed into the community and to keep posting guides and helping everyone out! I have much to learn from you all, and I'm sure I have a few things to teach. If you have any questions, comments, criticism, or concerns please feel free to reply or PM me about it! Thank you again for reading and I can't wait to become part of the community!

Thanks guys! Will be starting to do more guides about 'important' things when I find things to do them of. I understand not being impressed by this, but the idea wasn't to impress anyone.
