Iceblade Arrow/Shatter Rounds selling "scam"

I found out a nice way to make some quick and easy gold.

On my server, a stack of the Iceblade Arrows sells for 10g, and they stack up to 1000.

What you do, go to your factions AH, buy either Iceblade Arrow or Shatter Rounds, the new epic arrows/bullets from ICC. Buy as many stacks of them as you want and then go post them back to the AH in stacks of 100 and set the price for a stack a bit lower than the cheapest one in the ah. As in, if a stack of 1000 costs 10g, post your stack of 100 for 9g.

The default UI seems to be showing the difference clearly between a stack of 100 and 1000, but at least on auctioneer it will look fairly similar.

People will look at your stack price and think it is cheap!

You can get the recipe for the arrows/bullets from the ICC quartermaster with only friendly reputation, so it is fairly easily obtainable if you want to craft them yourself.

I've been buying and selling quite succesfully already, and will keep on doing this as long as it works. You shouldnt buy too many though, if you don't want to risk loosing too much gold. But still, if they won't sell, you can just sell them like normal and probably get your own golds worth back..

tl;dr

1. Buy/craft Iceblade Arrows/Shatter Rounds
2. Post them as stacks of 100, instead of 1000, and undercut stack price
3. Profit!


So this MIGHT be a repost of an old selling guide/scam, just bringing your attention to a quick and easy market, since the new arrows/bullets are quite good compared to the previous ones.

So I'm supposed to know every single post and blog on the internet? Great.. I did say that it most probably IS a repost, but was just pointing out the item for people since it sells good. Also did search but found nothing relevant.

I bought maybe 10 stacks of arrows.. (10x10=100g) and already sold a bunch of them, atm netting 500g. Bought a small amount yesterday and all were sold overnight. And today, after posting the items on ah, it took 5 minutes for someone to buy more than 20 stacks..

If someone is very VERY stupid, it maybe can work.

Thing is, with Auctioneer you can see what percentage of the common price a certain item is. Say a stack of 1000 sells for 20g, thats 100%. If you then put up a stack of 100 for 20g, thats 1000% of the normal price. In Auctioneer this is one of the numbers, located to the far left of the AH window. A decent-minded person wont buy something that says, in big red colors, 1000% of the normal price.

I just watched someone do this on my server, and i saw the flaws. It might work on a colorblind stupid moron in a hurry, but not everyone got that luck! Seems like you just got lucky a few times, OP

Just tried this with Shatter Rounds, which go for ~45g on my realm. Put up the 10 stacks for 35g each. Came home today to see half of them sold!

Players doesnt need to be seemingly stupid to fall for this trick once a long time ago there was a guy on my server selling tailoring clothin "10's" stacks over COD, what he really did was COD 1 cloth to his customers and rename the title of the COD mail to 10x[insertrandomclothtypehere] instead of just 1 [insertrandomclothtypehere] like it really was.
