Yes, As he states in the video, "He used to do this when he was lvl 77 just ground mounting over there".
If you feel its "to much to handle" if your not skilled enough or are low lvl or a "Not ideal class for this", you don't have to pull alot of packs at the same time, Its still good gold.
As you see in the video he isn't running with very good gear, and with Totc out you should be able to just outgear these mobs so that they die within seconds.
I think especially your Mage shouldn't have any problems doing this, Just keep them slowed, (Should be able to stay ahead of em), Pull a couple of packs and the AOE.

Edit, I did it on my Feral, but then they are kind of known for beeing able to survive alot and solo anything.

Yeah, I was doing this a bit today, Got 2 blues pretty much instantly (Just luck, I think) quiet a bit of Frostweave, greys, 1 or 2 greens. This would be decent for a ret paladin botting profile I think.

I made/make 1700g/h on avarage with this.
Depends alot on classes I have to say, on my mage I made around 1k and on my pala 1.7k.
On the other side my paladin have ToC 25m gear most of it, 40k unbuffed etc.
While mage only have UR 25/ToC 10m gear and he have to drink and such crap.

Arcane and fire, not really into mages, but it's my farming spec. But my paladins regular prot spec owns it ;P

YES, Today when i was out farming this, I met a hunter that farmed this. I asked him in regards to your post and he said that it was the best method he had of getting gold; aka. works fine!
