[How To] Easy way to make Mining/Herbing routes with Addons.

It's my turn to contribute, and i will learn you how to create a route with many nodes in just a couple of minutes with three addons. Also, some people may alredy use this, but i know lot of people is not. I haven't found a guide like this on MMOwned, so i thought i should write my own. *I'm sorry if my english isn't the best*

We will need 3 addons for this:
Routes - Routes - Addons - Curse
GatherMate - GatherMate - Addons - Curse
Gathermate_Data - GatherMate_Data - Addons - Curse


Check so that these three addons are enabled when you login into the game.

Now it's time for us to setup Gathermate and import some data.
Type "/gathermate" in the gamechat.


Since this is the first time we are using Gathermate, we will need to import some data.


Press "GatherMateData" and this this will apear:


Choose wich data you want to import. I did only import Mining in this example since i just want to include ore's in my route. When you've choosed what data you want to import press the "Import GatherMateData" button.
If you did do everything right, you should see this in your chatlog:


Now we have succesfully setup Gathermate and imported the data. Now you need to type "/routes" in your chat window.


Since we want to add a route, we simply press "Add" and this should appear.



1. Type the name of your route.
2. Wich zone you are making the route in.
3. Wich nodes the route should include.
4. Press this button to create your route.

Now press "Routes" you should now see the Zone and your route name in the list.


Here you will be able to adjust your route, but i won't go into depth in that today.


Now we open the game map and choose the zone wich we created or route in. This is how my route looks like:


This looks really bad right? Let me show you how to optimize your route:
Click the tab "Optimize Route".


Now, you will see some options. One of them should be "Foreground". Press the "Foreground" button.


Now, go back to the game map, it should now look something like this:


It looks alot better now, much easier to follow the path. There is also a option so you can "write" your own routes on the game map. Next edit i will update with that.

These routes are not so effective as you may have to travel like 500 yd. and then travel 500 yd again to get back on the "main" route.

Hate to be the one to tell you this, but your routes are horrible. There's a setting that makes them MUCH more efficient than what you have up there. Please update your guide with how to use that setting.

Yeah, i wrote this myself when my friend told me about this.
I'll update tomorow with how you can edit the route lines and draw your own route ingame.

can't say if it's a repost, but i've never seen similar. it is a very well done guide compared to most. this would make coming up with an effective route to bot a bit easier too. so +Rep x2 for u.

Thanks for this guide. I'm too tired of my usual route so I tried this out. I have one problem though...

When I, for example, want to make a route in Icecrown with Saronite, Rich saronite and Titanium Veins together the addon wont make the route. So, do you have a tip for me what to do to make a good route in Icecrown?

What I could think of was to only mark titanium, which worked. But when I flew along the route and a Saronite vein has spawned on the "Titanium Veins place" the addon removed it from the route! and after a while of farming, there wasn't much of a route left!

So, is there anyway to solve this?
