First of all, I want to say that this is a pretty old method but I recently used it again as I am leveling a new character on a new server and I couldn't pay for my flying mount when I hit 60. Secondly, I did not discover this method but I didn't find any posts on it so I thought I would share.

THIS METHOD IS SERVER DEPENDENT, BASED OFF HOW MUCH SMALL RADIANT SHARDS SELL FOR.

So what you do is farm Razorfen Downs. You're going to be running through the instance (you can dodge all trash once you get used to it) and just soloing the bosses for the rare drops. All the rare drops in the instance yield a Small Radiant Shard when disenchanted. You can obtain a minimum of 3 shards per run and a maximum of 5 (Amnennar the Coldbringer sometimes drops 2 blues and there is a rare spawn boss). On my server Small Radiant Shards sell for 15g/each, and mine sold pretty quickly.

I've only tried this with ranged/caster classes, but you should be able to run this 5 times within a hour no matter what level you are (unless you pull lots of trash while you're still learning) so 3x5 = 15 shards minimum for a hour, 15g x 15shards = 225g/hour. I recommend doing some of the Hellfire Peninsula quests so you get some decent gear before trying to do this with Pre-BC greens.

The guide is alright, but this can be done with most low-level instances. It's not anything I haven't heard of before, and it's definitely not worth my time to do. At level 80, if all you can get is approx. 225g for an hour of labor, you must be doing something very wrong.

He stated in the header that it was for lvl 60+, not lvl 80. When you start on a new server like he said he did you don`t automatically start with a lvl 80 char. In other words this is a good way to make money when you`re still low lvl. No rep from me though, because to me this is common sense. Other peeps might find this interesting though, so i`ll let them rep

I've never tried farming SM mainly because in RFD you can pretty much kill all the bosses without having to aggro a single mob between bosses, where (from personal experience) I've never been able to do in SM. Also, keep in mind only Armory and Cath drop blues which yeild Small Radiant Shards. This means that's only 3 Shards per reset, which yields only 15 shards/hour. 15shards/hour is the minimum you can acquire from doing farming RFD, and farming RFD you have a chance to get more shards/hour.

If you have a level 80, do not waste your time. There is a lot easier ways to make gold now, this was a nice method to use back prebc / BC but now all the DE matts that you get well only sell to people leveling enchanting or using low level enchants.. Go do some BC instances.
