What is this?
Mainly this is just some common tips for those of you out there that are new to arena. Some may seem obvious but alot of people don't think about these things/know about them.
Tips for All: In the arena picture every second can be game changing, if you are clicking/keyturning this takes away from your reaction time to things/ you end up getting owned by melee people being able to stay behind you the whole time. You should use Keybindings for your spells, and you should attempt to turn with the mouse. However some casters say that keyturning can be useful in some situations almost all agree that mouse turning is still a good thing to do for those non-specific times. It also might be a good idea to convert to a raid and put raid icons on your head before the arena games, it helps you keep track of each other. Watch warcraftmovies.com! By watching their arena videos you can find wayy more tips and ways to play then I can type on here.
Tips for Casters: When you have a melee class on you that can interupt you such as a death knight or rogue you should attempt to juke them, what I mean by this is when you are casting and they have their kick up cancel your cast at a little over half and usually they will blow their interupt and you can cast freely. Dont do this too many times in a row because you could end up gimping yourself.
Getting up to date specs:
If you ever are in need of an arena spec/glyphs/ways to gear you can go to arenajunkies.com/rankings/3v3 and find some one who is the same class as you and click on their spec. It will take you to their armory where you can copy it. Also while I am on the topic of arenajunkies.com they also have forums where you can post and ask questions about your comp and get a reply from gladiator status players.
Specific tips for classes:
Priest:
As a priest you often get trained, whether you are shadow or disc you get trained. Inner fire is pretty game changing. Always try and refresh it when it runs out. Another thing that is often not refreshed is fear ward! If your cooldown is up reapply it, its best to reapply it was you know they are going to fear you so you can get what you need done before they get the fears off. If you run with a rogue partner the power word shield helps them ALOT with openers, with the power word shield on the rogue he can walk while stealthed through concecrate and DnD. When vsing mages it can be a good idea to set them as your focus and make a macro such as /cast [target=focus] Shadow word: death when he is close to finishing his cast. It will break the sheep on you if you do it at the right time. At first it will be hard to use but later on it becomes easy and completely game changing vs mages.
Warlock:
Well for one dont have your pet on auto silence/seduce use a macro instead of auto cast. When porting, port often. And put your portal in locations such as up top on the bridge in bem so that you can jump off and port back up when people follow you off.
Rogue
A reference to the priests area- If you run with a priest always get a power word shield in the begining, it allows you to walk through DK's DnD and concecrate. It does not however prevent you from getting taken out by flare so watch out for that. If you are specced the normal pvp spec for mutilate which is 41/5/25 you do alot more damage from behind, again it seems obvious that you would want to stay behind them but alot of rogues are always spinning around me when I get stunned etc and put a Mut to my face. Try to avoid that and use most of your dmg on the targets back. When you blind a target try and use it after they have already trinketed, and dont touch him during the blind! If the b lind lasts the full 10 seconds you can vanish and sap the person @ ~ 2 seconds left to make them eat another huge cc, if you can pull that off its pretty much gg. This is also useable after a fear etc etc.
Warrior
If you know you are gona be focused by a rogue, USE A SHIELD! It helps alot! After the opening though you need to pull back out your 2h, if you are sword and board vs a rogue the whole time you are losing. Also when fighting things such as rogues, intervene your partner and charge back to get a stun in so you can hit him during evasion etc. Also use that to save yourself from taking tons of damage. Intervene is also very useful for interveneing at the end of a blind on your partner when you know he is going to get sapped. That way you will eat the sap instead of him. Another thing is shield slam, dont forget that it dispels the target you use it on. It it not very viable but can be useful if you can do things such as charge a druid and shield slam his innervate.
Druid
Hunter
Don't forget about freezing arrow, you can use scatter shot -> freezing arrow instead of just using frost trap. The extra amount of control is very helpful. Also there is a glitch where if you spam disengage you can go even farther so try and use that to your advantage.
Paladin
If you are ret dont forget that your dispels are absolutly amazing utility. As well as your freedoms and sacrifices (Dont hog the freedoms!). Also alot of the time your HoJ is not only used on your kill target it is very useful for cc on the control target along with repent.
Shaman
Resto shamans in 2v2 are pretty reliant on glitch drinking so do it often. For those of you who dont know what glitch drinking is - When you are out of combat or just about to be out of combat you can start casting a heal, preferably a large one, and then spam your drink button while that heal is going when the heal goes off you wont be instantly in combat so you can sit down and start drinking. When placing totems try place them in a place that is hard for the other team to stomp them by hand. For instance, on Blade's edge put them under the bridge on dal put them either down over an edge or behind the boxes, really just wherever you see would be a good spot.
Macros
Most of these macros are quite useful in the arena setting.
/cast [target=focus] Spell use this and replace spell with things such as blind, polymorph, spell lock, counterspell etc. Also you can replace focus with a friendly targets name in order to cast helpful buffs on them such as tricks of the trade.
#show sap
/cleartarget
/targetenemy
/cast sap
That macro is for rogues, a sap macro helps amazingly for openers vs other rogues, however you most likely want to use the regular sap button if you arnt hunting for a rogue in stealth
/ilovemmowned or any other like 11 letter word can be used for lagging your character --> http://www.mmowned.com/forums/wow-ex...like-lock.html
