3.2 tip to get 500 gold in an hour

    Hey, guys

First, allow me to say that the 500g I mentioned in the title above might just as well be 300 or 1,000. It all depends a great deal on luck, on drop chance.

So, here's what you need to kill, and where:

    Mam'toth Disciple, in Zul'Drak:

Couldn't find any decent map, but this is how the area looks like approximately:

Kill the Mam'toth Disciples there. They drop loads of Thick Fur Clothing Scraps (50 easy silver), quite a few stacks of Frostweave Cloth, and above all, they have the highest drop chance of Damaged Necklace:

On my server, these JC quest items sell for 300-400g easily, and in these beginning days of WoW 3.2, it's a miracle if it doesn't sell on AH. So, I'd recommend you to just go there, an hour or two (mind you that the drop chance of this magnificent item is only 0.2% ) and see if it's a lucky day for you. I've had a few drops before, there, so I hope you get the same luck on your server.

Yeah, the wowhead data is probably inaccurate because there has been a few kills on these mobs (compared to others)

You should calculate the average gold per hour. Find a drop chance that you think is accurate and then find out how many of these mobs you kill per like 10 minutes. Then multiply that so you know how many mobs you kill per hour, then say that times the drop chance times the price.
That will tell you the average gold you will make per hour, given that the drop chance is accurate.

To help you with wowheads data: (Taken from 4699 kills of the mobs you mentioned in your post)
    6/4699*100=0.128% drop chance

Now I don't know how fast you can kill these mobs that have 11k health, and how fast you can switch between them but lets just say 3 kills per minute. That means you kill 180 of these mobs per minute.
180 kills * 0.128 drop chance = 23.04% chance for necklace to drop.
If the average price per necklace is 250 gold, you would by average make 57.6 gold per hour.

I am very tired atm, and it is possible that I may have miscalculated. (Please correct my mistakes)

Still, I do not think the drop chance or price is high enough on any server for you to be able to make 500g/hour. If your suggestion is to do this only once and try to get lucky, then by average, 23.04% of us would if we stayed there for an hour. (If wowhead data is correct and we kill 3 mobs per minute)
That is, if lucky means getting this necklace to drop. I don't know if we are lucky enough to make 300-400g from selling it.

If you want to know where the place on his screenshot is located in Zul'Drak, it is around coordinates (72,43).

    I hope this helps someone.

PS: Oh, and paladinlord is correct.

Edit: If someone missed my point or doesnt want to read my entire post, it is that there are better and just as easy ways to make gold that do not depend on luck and are not as server dependant.
