Ask anyone who knows me in-game and they will tell you I am the biggest trinket show-off ever. I have
trinkets which literally make a person say “Woah” in real life… and then type it. So what I have decided to
do today is bring you a guide listing several of my personal favorites, how to obtain them, and what
exactly they do. All npc and trinket names, quests, and locations are linked to wowhead for your
convenience, so… without further ado – I give you:
:: Kudu’s Guide to WTF Trinkets ::
Name:
Time-Lost Figurine
About:
This trinket does the nifty little trick of turning you into a Skettis Arrakoa. Not only is it exceedingly rare
as many people never get to finish the quest leading up to its drop, but it’s just darn right awesome. I
cannot begin to tell you how many times I have been spammed to death by people screaming “wtfbbq
where did you get that!!” and there is just something so appeasing about that kind of reaction. If you
have ever owned something rare in wow you know exactly what I am talking about.
Acquisition:
To get hold of this beauty, hop through a portal to Shattrath and make way to the Skettis in Terokkar
Forest. Upon arrival, pick up the quest Terrok’s Downfall given by Sky Commander Adaris who
can be found at coordinates (63, 66). The goal is to slay Terokk, and it takes a pretty decent amount of
time to gather the materials required to summon him. The best part however is that you can summon him
as many times as you want even after you have turned in the quest. The trinket drops off of Terokk
himself and has a rather low drop rate; however persistence will land you this rare trinket in the end.
Name:
Super Simian Sphere
About:
Think of your character turning into a gorilla inside a purple ball. Well that is exactly what this trinket
does. By far one of the most awesome trinkets in the game, and while it is extremely rare, it is rather well
known.
Acquisition:
While this trinket is awesome, chances are you will never see it equipped on your own character as it is a
world drop for Wrath of the Lich King. Getting hold of this is pure luck as it drop rate is not only far less
than 0.1% - but it is also Bind on Pickup – meaning you will never see it on auction. If you manage to get
hold of one of these (or already have one)… congratulations to you, and I wish I had some of your luck…
moving on.
Name(s):
Brightbrew Charm & Balebrew Charm
About:
I put these two together as they do pretty much the same thing. They summon a crazy dwarf lady who
throws beer at people. A simple /wave emote in her direction will land you an ice-cold Brewfest Brew.
There’s not much better than killing stuff and getting free beer at the same time from some random
dwarf… hell, she even buffs you and your party with some mp5 or attacks depending on which one you
have. For easy beer access – use the following macro:

Acquisition:
Your chances of obtaining one or more of these trinkets are rather high except that they can only be
obtained during the in-game Brewfest holiday which will be taking place September 20th to October 4th
of this year. They drop off a boss which spawns in the Blackrock Depths and can only be killed once a
day. He also drops some other nifty things (such as mounts) but in the interest of staying on topic I’ll
stick to the trinkets. His name is Coren Direbrew and is found inside the Grim Guzzler of Blackrock Depths.
He was pretty easy to nuke down last year, however, nothing stays the same in world of warcraft,
so we will just have to wait and see what he is like this year.
Name:
Orb of Deception
About:
This orb will turn you into a member of the opposite faction for a short period of time. As a troll I turn
into a very ugly dwarf however it’s still quite fun to run around Orgrimmar as an ally. The form you take
when you use the orb depends on your race. You can find a more detailed list of what exactly you will
turn into below…
Gnome to Tauren
Tauren to Gnome
Human to Orc
Orc to Human
Night Elf to Undead
Undead to Night Elf
Dwarf to Troll
Troll to Dwarf
Blood Elf to Draenei
Draenei to Blood Elf
Acquisition:
The Orb of Deception is probably the most common trinket on this list. It is a world drop from the old
world of warcraft, however its drop rate is exceedingly high in Dire Maul from Skarr the Unbreakable.
However if farming is not your thing, you could most likely pick it up off the Auction House, as it is Bind
on Equip, and fairly cheap considering the amount of gold you can make nowadays in Wrath of the Lich King.
Name:
Tiny Voodoo Mask
About:
I personally love this trinket… What’s better than having three lightning casting gnomes backing
you up, even if they don’t do all that much damage anymore? What I find hilarious, but have not tried as
I am not a gnome, is some of the ideas people come up with in regards to creating a sort of “Gnome
Army” with this trinket. Some have suggested using Pygmy Oil, Mirror Image, Glyph of Mirror Image, and
dressing like a Voodoo Gnome yourself to throw people off in PVP… I would crack up if I saw seven random
gnomes dressed the same running towards me in a Battleground or Arena.
Acquisition:
The Tiny Voodoo Mask drops from Hex Lord Malacrass in Zul’Aman. Not many people go to Zul’Aman anymore again making this a rather sought
after trinket amoungst collectors such as myself. So go grab a couple of well geared friends and hit up
Zul’aman… who knows, you might just get lucky with this one.
Well that’s all I have for now. There are several other trinket out there which summon and do some rather
amazing things, but in my opinion, they are not on par with the awesomeness of the above mentioned
trinkets. I hope you guys have enjoyed the guide.
