Gold Guide

What sets this guide apart from any other gold guide out there?
This guide shows you exactly WHICH items will sell the fastest and yield the most profit. It goes through step-by-step on how to start earning tons of gold at the Auction House. This guide also incorporates the Profit Spreadsheet which I have built specifically for the MMOwned community.

Profit Spreadsheet Sections:

Part 1 - Professional Crafts, Materials, & Pricing Information
This consists of the end-game crafts that can benefit you by having crafted and resold. Also included in this section is a list of the materials needed throughout the entire spreadsheet - you'll need to update the cost of these materials yourself in order for this spreadsheet to work as intended.

The next list of prices for you to fill in is what those products sell for on the AH. The final product of this part is a list of profit for each profession based on the cost of materials, and the cost of the products.

Part 2 - DE / JC Strategy - FIXED!
The "DE/JC Strategy" is the following method:
1) Buy Saronite Ore
2) Prospect it
3) Sell the uncommon gems of the following colors: green, purple
4) Craft what you can from the following list of items with your new gems:
Bloodstone Band - Item - World of Warcraft
Crystal Chalcedony Amulet - Item - World of Warcraft
Crystal Citrine Necklace - Item - World of Warcraft
Sun Rock Ring - Item - World of Warcraft
5) Create something useful out of the blue gems
6) Disenchant the jewelry you had crafted & auction the products of the disenchanting & whatever's leftover from the prospecting.

Part 3 - LW (Arctic Boots) - NEW!
The "LW (Arctic Boots)" is the following method:
1) Buy Borean Leather
2) Craft Arctic Boots (Requires Leatherworking) - NOTE: They are BoE, so you can get a crafter to do this for you.
3) Disenchant the Arctic Boots
4) Yield tons of Profit ("tons" being dependent on how much you invest)

Part 4 - Horned Cobalt Helm (BS) - NEW!
The "Horned Cobalt Helm (BS)" is the following method:
1) Buy Cobalt Bars (or ore & have smelted, whichever way's cheaper on your realm - I may include a tool for this in the next version!)
2) Craft Horned Cobalt Helms
3) Disenchant the Horned Cobalt Helms
4) Yield tons of Profit ("tons" being dependent on how much you invest)

Part 5 - End-game Cooldown Cloth
The fifth and final part of this spreadsheet is for tailor "Cooldown Cloth". The Cooldown Cloth we're referring to is: Ebonweave, Moonshroud, & Spellweave. The first calculation tool in this section is designed to calculate a single end-game cloth of each type, the second calculation tool allows you to set how many cloth you want to view calculations for. Remember to type in how much you tip your tailor on average for their cooldown cloth!

Utilizing the Auction House
The Auction House will make up of 99.9% of your gold income. People rarely sell things at 100% value in trade chat.

Chapter 1 - Starting Out
1. Create a new character (banker)

Recommended Races:
ALLIANCE: Human
HORDE: Troll/Orc/Blood Elf

I recommend the above races as your banker toon because those races take the least amount of time to travel to the nearest capital, or most visited capital.

2. Quest & Level until you have at least 4-6 silver. This step may be skipped if you already have some sort of funding on this server.

3. Go to the nearest capital city.

4. Do a scan in the Auction House twice a day for at least 1 week with Auctioneer. Once in the morning, once at night. This will allow for accurate data & pricing information.

5. In one week, do another scan (fast scan >> if your internet connection allows) of the Auction House and immediately after, go to Search -> Searchers -> Resale.

6. Change your resale settings to the ones shown below:


7. Click Search and wait for it to completely load the results.

8. Double-click "Profit" so it lists the results by max. profit to least profit.

9. Find any items, starting at the top, that you can afford which yield the most profit and click "Purchase". Consumer discretion is advised.

10. Resell any items you purchased for more and yield profit.

Chapter 2 - Snatching

1. Go to Search -> Searchers -> Snatch
2. Insert the following items & input prices around 60-70% for these items:

Why those items?
They are the most sought after items in-game. They are needed by many players and have a higher sale rate than other items.

3. Go to Search -> Options -> realtime
and change the following settings:

Power-user Setting One-Click Buying
[X] Skip results and go straight to purchase confirmation !Power-user setting!

Searchers to Use:
[X] Snatch

4. Go to the front page of the AH & click the RealTime Scan Button.

5. Search for all of the above items while the realtime scan is running, and be sure to go page by page.

6. Results should come up if anything meets your Snatch criteria. If results come up, feel free to purchase the items & relist them at a way higher price, thus making you more profit.
