Best skinning spot in Northrend.

right outside the Argent Vanguard theres a bunch of mobs that attack guards.
(not my words but i didnt see anything posted about this.)
Make sure you don't complete many quests and make the same mistake I did. If you complete a certain quest (Can't remember which one it is), the area will change (Damn you phasing!) and all the spiders will disappear. I made this mistake on my main and regretted losing such a great farming spot. So, when I was leveling my hunter, I rushed over to Argent Vanguard when I was halfway to 77. I did nothing but kill the spiders near the vanguard from 76.5-77

430 Borean Leather - 215g
2 Arctic Fur - 80g
68 Nerubian Chitin - 204g
121 Frostweave Cloth - 60g
25 Infinite Dust (From disenchanting greens) - 125g
73g in pure cash (These mobs act like humanoids, in which they drop money and cloth)
87g in vendor trash (They drop ALOT of gray items)


The best strategy I found is to run around attacking whichever ones you see. If one of the spiders is getting attacked by one of the guards, put a DoT on it. As long as you do at least 1 damage, the kill will be yours and you can loot/skin the mob. Also, if there are no spiders in sight, break the webbings. There's about a 30% chance there will be a spider inside. Just make sure you're not right next to it when you break it, as it'll explode and launch you backwards.

i'm assuming it's argent crusade guards. so neutral.

Now i'm not 100% sure about this, seeing as it's not my guide(i found it on the net and decided to share it with the community).

Also its not about the infinite dust or the DE'ing its about the high drop rates for the chitin and the fast spawning mobs there.

this spot seems to be great. i didn't do the quest on all my chars yet, so i can agree that the respawn rate is quite fast. also it seems to be a perfect spot for botting since most people should have done the questline and can't see you anymore.

Are you sure it's the fastest ? cause i always go to the Wolves cave in Storm Peaks and it's very good and get alot of arctic furs/hour ... I suggest you try that one and compare it and maybe say how long you did to get all that loot.

Wolves cave coords: 46.6 54.8 for people without the coords. East of the Tower of Storms there are 3 Caves the upper cave North East is the Wolve cave, the South cave is where elementals are, i think water and i don't know what the middle cave is

also for that spot, if you turn on track undead with either hunter tracking or the MrTrackIt program, you can see if there is a spider in the egg or not.

Ok, i just did it and this is from about 1 hour 20 min worth of work.

Near start

At end(with grays vendored) i ran out of room :x

Borean Leather - 10 stacks and 5 singles worth: 121.1g on my server
Arctic fur - 4 singles worth: 129g on my server
Nerubian Chitin - 2 stacks and 7 singles worth: 90.59g on my server
Frostweave cloth - 2 stacks and 14 singles worth: 30.62g on my server
Green loot - 4 drops Vendor worth: about 20-30g. Disenchanting worth anywhere from 40g up if you get lucky on the essences.
Grays - many Vendored 50g worth
Money(silver dropped) - probably 40-50g
Total: 501.31 GOLD

Now i'm level 78 and a shaman, this can be a lot better with an aoe class or even just a level 80 who doesnt need to stop and heal when there's a couple mobs hitting on him.

This location has been mentioned several times in the forum the ultra sad part is that it requires not completing certain quests for it to work.

its the first RC4 download link.

and about it being mentioned, i hardly see anybody there besides the random person doing the quest chain(then i just skin up their mobs). the only person that has been there regulary was a nightelf hunter that kept to herself mainly. I still had plenty of things to skin.

If your ranged the perfect spot to go is to the spider cave just north of K3. Kill spiders and skin till you get to the very end, there you will see 3-4 big blue spiders. By the time you have killed the 4th (or 3rd cant remeber) spider in the room they will have already started to respawn. You can sit in this room for hours killing and skinning. If you want a break you can go back through the cave killing all the spiders again to get good drop% of silk.

but the best part of this place is you dont have to kill them your self

hit them once when they're being hit by guards and go on to the next one then wait for the killing blow thing to show and go loot and skin.

thanks a lot, the 2 ways to get to the spot is either flying mount or taking a FP to the argent tournament area and then riding south( theres a small pass over the hills)
