Hey guys, I'm writing this due to the fact that searching through >>>>>Elitist Jerks<<<< for small morsels of extremely useful info has become a bit tedious and I'd rather have a simple, easy reference point. Due to the amount of information in this post that would have originated on the EJ boards I credit this thread to the intelligent theorycrafters of those boards.

And as a note: Dots and you: The Affliction Warlock Thread - Elitist Jerks May be the most useful page of information you can have as a warlock.

10 hit rating = 10.61 dps -> 15.85 dps
10 spell power = 11.33 dps -> 12.49 dps
10 haste rating = 6.00 dps -> 8.53 dps
10 spirit = 3.74 dps -> 4.12 dps
10 crit rating = 3.74 dps -> 5.58 dps
10 int = 1.13 dps -> 1.69 dps

Note on hit: This calculation is assuming you are NOT HIT CAPPED. Hit quickly loses its value once you apply talents(3%) and raid buffs(3%) (draenie=4%). IE faerie fire spriest debuff and heroic presence(passive)

Glyph Choice

Affliction

Glyph of Life Tap: Default lock glyph giving big dps boost
Glyph of Haunt: Increases damage bonus from Haunt
Glyph of Curse of Agony: Increases duration for CoA

Destruction

Improved Shadow Bolt: Now a direct 5% increase to your main nuke and provides a crit debuff on the target
Bane: Reduces cast time on Shadow Bolt
Ruin: Gives you the big crits

I can not find updated information on Glyph of CoA for those of you unawares, the additional ticks granted by this glyph are now an actual DPS increase, IE the additional ticks have their damage increased by 30% per tick.

Gems summary:

As a meta gem, use a +25 spell power gem with any additional effect (your choice) or the chaotic skyflare diamond (21 crit).

If you are not hit capped:
For a red slot, use [Runed Scarlet Ruby]. 19sp
For a blue slot, use a [Purified Twilight Opal]. 9sp/8sprt
For a yellow slot, use [Veiled Monarch Topaz]. 9sp/8hit

If you are hit capped:
For a red slot, use a [Runed Scarlet Ruby]. 19sp
For a blue slot, use a [Purified Twilight Opal]. 9sp/8sprt
For a yellow slot, use a [Reckless Monarch Topaz]. 9sp/8hst

If you do not care about socket boni, always use [Runed Scarlet Ruby].
