If you are a mage with a spec that includes focus magic, place it on another player, then switch to another spec, the person should still have the buff, and you will therefore benefit from focus magic crit , in your off spec as well.

oh now that u talk about it, when i do the exact same thing with my shaman, (mainspec elemental), i mean, i ES someone and then change specs the ES doesnt disapeaer!

Say you have a fire TTW spec, you can buff a raid buddy with FM, then switch to another spec, and it will stay, and you will still get the benefit when they crit.
