I asked a GM to restore a level 50 hunter for my girlfriend
*prior to the delete all gear was removed and sold, the gold was sent to an alt.
*prior to restore I made a new character on a diff account of the same name the new character was given a free name change and the old character kept it's original name after the restore.
*when restored the character was completely naked.
*a few days later, all the gear that was sold to a vendor was restored in 3 in game messages.

I wasn't given anything new or special or anything more.

I've done something similar unknowingly. I traded accounts with someone and the account I received was recalled within a day. I recalled my account and went through the recovery process. I said I was keylogged and they had gained access to my email and everything because it was changed during the account trade.

I got my account and email back under my control and noticed I had an additional 4k gold and several expensive items on my account which were not there when I had traded it. In fear the GM would remove these items while doing the account restoration I mailed them to a friend's account immediately.

Later blizzard contacted me and said my account was fully restored. When I got back on I had all my gold (plus the 4k extra) and all the extra items which I had mailed to my friend. My friend checked his account and he still had the 4k gold I had sent him as well as the extra items. So we split the gold and items and made a good amount.

I would not attempt to do this again because I feel I was very fortunate and I would not recommend anyone trying this with their personal accounts.

guys, i wanna tell ya that it CAN work, let me explain: few days ago i was trying dual wield, i'm constantly broke so i took out some old gear i never use (DONT ASK WHY I HAD IT!!) and i sold it to vendor, coz i was needing glyphs. then by accident i must've sold my 'betrayer of humanity', but i didn't notice that untill 2 hours later. i made a ticket, like 8 hours later (thx blizz <3) they sent it back, but didn't cost vendor price or anything like that, even though i SAID in the ticket that i would pay the vendor price.

I wouldn't trust this. 1 because yo ucan only have so many restorations in-game, and 2 because they can't always get the characters back for you. You shouldn't rely on anything that GM's could do, and it's not even GM's! They go to an investigation team. I just wouldn't do it, a big waste of time, because with the new patch, they take 3 days to get your stuff back. +rep if im right? heehee

You risk 2kg and all your items and rely on a GM to recover it. GL.

The only thing you risk is getting banned. A trustworthy friend would give you your gold back if it doesn't work out.

Yea I've heard that at some of my buddies they locked the account for investigations, as for me they just sent the items via ingame mailbox

What the hell?
You're basicly saying that you wrote a guide that you know isnt worth anything? Why would you even bother posting it if your mates got their accounts locked for investigations

Try to test a guide before uploading it, or atleast inform people about the chances of account investigations

Tell me if im wrong, but who is really interested in a guide which locks your account for 1-3 weeks, 8/10 times? lols /shrug
