    Alchemy Specialization

Didnt find any reposts about this, or I jus didnt search good enough, oh well I cba, jus flame if it is a repost \o/

I -think- this is pretty much common sence >.> BUT, there are some "nooboz" like myself that didnt know about this

Ok, this is it, you are levelin alchemy blablabla , you get to 350 (and lvl 6 and you get to choose a specialization. I obviously wanted Elixir since imo its the most profitable one.
I went to pick up the quest and as soon as I saw BM I died a little from the inside, I cba wit the rep and shit so I dropped it -.-
What's next I thought. I went to pick up Pot Master, I saw it involved Bot and dropped it also since am a lazy bastard
Oh well, I said, lez get Transmutation Master, might come in handy wit 3.2 hittin and gems transmutations

But it kinda pissed me off that I wouldnt make any decent profit till 3.2 so I decided I'd drop the Trasnmutation Master thingy (which I had become) and do the Elixir quest wit the help of a guildie.

So I went up to pick the quest and figured out that because I had become Trans Master I could become Elixir Master without doin the damn quest

So, to sum this wall-of-shit up

    1. Become Trans Master (4 Primal Mights like 50g on my server)
    2. Drop It
    3. Go to the Elixir Master in Shat or Pot Master in Zangarmash
    4. Become one of the above with only 200g spend and no effort

This is for people levelin alts or smthn or stuck on a Mastery they do not want. Am pretty sure its old and all, but \o/ Haz fun, I hope smn gains smthn out of it

Edit : You need to go to your current mastery trainer to drop it btw.
Edit nr2 : You also need 150g to unlearn your Mastery :P

I had thought this was common knowledge, guess not. =]

    Copy & Paste from Wiki:

    Changing Specializations

You may unlearn a specialization in alchemy, and then select a new specialization. This is a repeatable choice, but costs 150 gold each time you unlearn your specialization. To unlearn a specialization, see the NPC who gave you the specialization. Once you are unspecialized again, you can see any of the three specialization trainers and specialize with no cost or quest required. It may be worth considering taking Potion or Elixir mastery, and then switching to Transmutation.

Note: You must speak to the correct specialist to learn and unlearn that mastery. The NPC in Shattrath City no longer offers all 3 quests to re-specialize and is only the elixir master.

    Master of Potions

Trained by Lauranna Thar'well in Cenarion Refuge, Zangarmarsh [80, 64]. This quest requires:

[Botanist's Field Guide] from High Botanist Freywinn in The Botanica, Tempest Keep
    [Super Healing Potion] ×5
    [Super Mana Potion] ×5
    [Major Dreamless Sleep Potion] ×5

    Master of Elixirs

Note: Flasks also benefit from Elixir Mastery. Trained by Lorokeem in Shattrath City [45, 21]. This quest requires:

[Essence of Infinity] ×10 from Rift Lords/Keepers in The Black Morass (Caverns of Time)
    [Elixir of Major Defense] ×5
    [Elixir of Mastery] ×5
    [Elixir of Major Agility] ×5

    Master of Transmutation

Trained by an Zarevhi in Stormspire, Netherstorm [44, 37]. This quest requires:
    [Primal Might] ×4

    Must first speak to either:
Alchemist Gribble in Honor Hold or
    Apothecary Antonivich in Thrallmar

Since Alchemists are bound up to look into here:
How are your experiences with your specialisation?
I've left alchemy at ~320 and never bothered to lvl it up -Do you thing its worth it?
Might add that i don't farm herbs and pushing further will cost quite a bit so im uncertain if it could pay off
    in a acceptable timeframe

I find Alchemy to be worthwhile. My toon has 450/450 Fishing, Cooking, Herbalism, and Alchemy.

These professions together make it very easy for me to get all of the buffs I will need for any of my weekly raids.

Alchemy is useful if you are going to raid especially because flasks last twice as long on you. There are going to be some nice changes in 3.2, and we are going to be able to transmute epic gems.

If you do not have Herbalism, that must be pretty frustrating. It really depends on what you want to get out of the profession at that point. It doesn't really make a whole lot of money compared to other professions, but it has utilities that are useful in raids.

If you are using it for gold, and you don't have Herbalism, you might want to try something else. Really depends on what you are trying to do.

I has to be common knowledge, yet I didn't know about this, never bothered to skillup my alchemy until I saw this post. I picked up the potion master which was easy to get mats (solo'ed botanica boss as balance druid with pve gear/spec) then changed to elixir. I don't feel like giving +Rep, thanks for posting it though

*Off-Topic* the new flask of north in the ptr seems really cool btw :P
