Invest now for the expansion!

Everyone loves small pets. Especially rare ones. Soon, the Trial of the Champion pets are going to be VERY rare. This is because it takes a LONG time to even farm up the seals to get one. At the moment they are 1000g each normally.

What you need to do is buy up a couple of different ones of the OPPOSITE factions. Then store them until the expansion. People are going to eventually stop farming them and they will become very rare. Especially at 85 and even as soon as patch 3.3 people may stop farming them.

These are the ones you should be looking for.

If you are Horde:

If you are Alliance:

TLDR; Buy opposite faction Trial of the Champion pets and save them until Cataclysm or patch 3.3.

Very smart. But why does it have to be the opposite faction? Now that theres no restriction on horde/ally, the prizes are rly equal or atleast close

Because the Horde versions are going to be even harder to get as the Alliance ones. The Alliance ones you can personally grind for but the Horde ones you can't.

This is very smart for the near future, but, the expansion isn't going to be out for a VERY long time so don't start saving up now, wait a few months.. lol

Pets take 3 days each. The only reason they sell for so much right now is that the mounts are much more desirable way to spend tokens. Why waste tokens that could be spent on mounts, when you can just pay some cash for the pet instead. By the time cataclysm hits, the people who care will have all the mounts and all the pets, and may still do the dailies occasionally to get pets for alts/friends. I don't expect this to be very profitable.

Wouldn't it be even better to farm your own faction's pets and sell them on the opposite faction's AH? I mean, it isn't too hard to transfer stuff from horde to alliance or the other way around, and with sex change, worgen paladins, faction change already available or announced, I wouldn't be surprised if Blizzard made cross faction mails available, which would make it even easier to make profit this way.

Why would you think the expansion is coming in January? It was only announced a few weeks ago. I'm expecting it around next August, based on the fact that Blizz still needs the Onyxia patch and then the Lich King patch. Both of which will have 2-3 months in between.

The reason why you buy it now is because they are readily available. Don't want to be say I'll buy them when it gets closer and there are none.
