This spec is outdated since Patch 3.1. Glacier Rot is now a tier 5 talent.

Ever since the newest patch I've been using 10/58/3 and like it a lot better than blood spec. In the frost tree I didn't put points into Toughness, Icy Reach, Nerves of Cold Steel, Endless Winter and Acclimation. In Blood i put points into Butchery, Subversion, and Bladed Armor. In unholy i point the last three points into Virulence. I plan to keep this spec when I hit 80 and pvp. Anyways with this spec I do more damage and hardly ever fall below 90% health while leveling.

I'd prefer Unholy for leveling for the pet, the increased speed, and increased mount speed. Not like it matters, most any spec is viable. Good guide.

Nah. Ive tested all three specs.


Frost is a nice AoE leveler, ie pull 3 mobs at a time, deathchill, howling blast, obliterate with no diseases obliterated etc.

Unholy has no survivability but max dps.

Blood has A: Self heals B: a spammable attack that crits near enough every time for 3k c: self buffs, ie 20% extra damage, Rune tap etc.

Besides, unholy is being nerfed in 3.2.

When I reached 80 on my DK I had 40g respec bill. Blood was earlier an "invulnerable" spec, where you could kill anything you wanted. It still is, but not as much.
Frost: This is a semi-AoE spec. It has good potential in single target as well as AoE, but it's not the best in any of them.
Unholy: With Wandering Plague mobs go down faster the more of them there are, as long as you can keep up yourself. Keep up all diseases and pestilence, and keep yourself up with Death Strike.
